macOS has a built-in AirPlay receiver. It registers in Music Assistant:

But selecting it gives an error:

I also tried enabling encryption and setting a password. Both didn’t help.

The builtin airplay receiver on macos stopped working some macos update versions ago. Maybe there is a magic trick to get it to work again but so far I havent found it.
Option now is to install something else on the macbook like snapcast, squeezelite or shairport sync.

Thanks! I’m using snapcast now, which works great. I also saw there is an Experimental Web Player in the latest beta releases, so I guess this will also be an option moving forward.
