was for conditions or scenarios like security or caching that help me understand how to get the best out if. However, by your response I guess I am too stupid to discuss this with you and I need someone willing to help me get out of my ignorance

by calling it on client side which can off load the work on the server but more javascript to send to client.
however, if you need to call the api with some secret info then you should call it on server side
