NEXT_DATA is undefined in app dir?

Getting this in development on latest canary/stable.

Seems that NEXT_DATA is missing?

using the app dir if that matters

and I'm not using amp or anything, so not sure why this file is even running

couldn't repo on a bare project, but I'm not touching amp either. works fine in prod weirdly enough, just dev

so def not an amp error specifically

I guess __NEXT_DATA__ shouldnt be missing?
