- Intro
First of all I'd like to say that this is my personal opinion and if you think differently, I'm open for discussions.
I think it's good to explore all options and ideas.
IMO slayer has been falling behind more and more, taking a lot of resources to be anywhere near useful. The class is stuck between a damage dealer and tank, not being good in either direction honestly. Only skill that makes slayer usable is phantasm.

AoE
Slayers aoe skills (apocalypse, hellstorm, smoke bomb) for some reason get a damage decline the more mobs you hit. The simple question is why? I get that maybe the intent is to make slayer a high single target dps class, but even then other classes out-do slayer in that regard.
Apart from that our skills have incredibly short range, notably Gloom Aura, Hellstorm, Apocalypse. It really doesn't make sense when pet classes specifically get huge area aoes on very short cooldowns, that can become incredibly strong and don't recieve any damage reduction for whatever reason. -
Useless actives/passives
Apart from the range and damage decling, there's certain skills that feel completely useless.
Example: Debilitating Blows - passive... Attacks have a CHANCE to reduce enemy macc/acc BY 1%. Really just 1%. It does not make any impact whatsoever, but yet it's a master class skill.
An option maybe would be to change it to a more stacking %p.def reduction, but overall it really just needs some use.
Also Shadow Crash / Shadow Wound feel odd to use because of the restriction of not being able to use them while dual-wielding while the whole class is dual wield based... -
Aggro issues
There are very few tanks that can hold aggro with a slayer in the party, they just have to be crazy strong even if the slayer isn't remarkably powerful.
Simple fix would be not limiting oblivion to just -50% threat, give us ways to increase it.
