ok so ive been stuck on this for 15 minutes and for some reason this moth wont react to lumos. ive reopened my game but its still doesnt work and idk what to do

That's odd. You obviously had to get a moth to the spinner somehow, so I'm not sure why it would be refusing to react now. Are you sure you're raising the pedestal all the way, pushing the spinner until it stops? Perhaps the moth is just barely out of range of the spell?

yes, I’ve raised it all the way, and I’ve moved to the edge to the point where I fall off, but the moth still doesn’t react to the spell. Maybe I’ll just restart the quest.

Are you playing with mods? That's the only other thing I can think of

Then that's probably it. I have no idea how, but maybe one of them is screwing up the range of the moths or of Lumos. Try disabling your mods and see if that fixes it, and if so try them one by one to see which one is the culprit
