Settings reset as soon as I exit the game

So I basically just got Hogwarts Legacy for free on epic games and I'm really looking forward into starting to play it, but for some reason my settings keep resetting as soon as I restart my game. This is pretty frustrating primarily because I need to redo all the settings every time I'm going to play the game, but also because I can't even do anything about it when I try to turn off/on a setting that requires a restart for it to go through. Especially since my game for some reason doesn't run super well although it should (which is a seperate problem most likely lol) but I'd really appreciate if anybody knows how to resolve this issue.

I also get these notifications if I want to choose to put the save on my cloud or download it somewhere else or whatever right before launching it if that helps identifying the problem. Thanks in advance!

Oh dear that's really frustrating, Open the file properties for GameUserSettings.ini and set it to Read-only. Hopefully that fixes.

For notifications you are receiving before launching Hogwarts Legacy are likely due to a cloud save synchronization conflict.

This happens when the save data stored on your local computer does not match the data stored in the Steam or Epic Games cloud

U can prevent getting those notifications by
Waiting few minutes after exiting the game,or before shutting down your computer or closing the Steam/Epic Games launcher to ensure the data has fully uploaded to the cloud.

Also Verify your local and cloud saves:

Carefully select the most current save file when prompted.
If you are sure your local saves are the most recent, choose to upload them to the cloud.
If you last played on another device, choose to download the cloud saves to your current machine.
