I need help with the magic spots please

Hi, I'm quite new to the game. I finished the secrets of the restricted section quest, found 1 magic spot and opened the challenge, but ever since I haven't been able to find magic spots. I've been seeking online maps to find them, but the traces don't show up.

Because you can't activate them until later in the game.

I believe it's after you finish the first Trial that ancient magic traces are unlocked.
