In-game mods compatability with Nexus mods

Can I install mods through the in-game mechanism introduced in the new update as well as through mods that I download from nexus mods?

Nexus mods are not supported and installing mods through both an external and native mod manager can cause instability in your loadout, so I'd advise against that.
