I couldn’t get the mod part to work so I shrugged it off (I’m on PC) figuring I would wait for a patch or something, but now once I get to the main screen of the game I can’t even load my normal save file or start a new one 😦 I got rid of all my Nexus mods, updated my drivers, updated my computer, but every time I click to load the entire thing crashes. I am so sad. Any ideas on fixes so I don’t lose my save file?

You can try saving your game file save but not sure if it's the save file that's been corrupted or just the game.
For sure remove mods first
you can replace the save once you reinstall the game

ok! i did back the save up and did do an uninstall/reinstall, but i am not sure what the issue is cause i can't start a new file either even still. it just kind of flips right back to my steam launcher o: i tried turning ray tracing off but that didn't seem to do the trick 😅

Nyooo hmm 🤔 the best thing to do is to just reinstall but if that’s didn’t work I’m not sure what will. When you uninstalled did you make sure no residual files were left behind?

It just crashes or it won’t load up at all?
Also try restarting your computer
Remove the whole mods folder
And verify the integrity of your game files
If you have any other programs running try closing them too

So the game loads. I can see my character and my files and the shaders loads perfect but then when I click to load a file or start a new one it just shuts off and takes me back to Steam. It’s been happening since yesterday 😭 I never had an issue before. I did try the verifying thing a few times too.
Where would I find the mods folder ? That’s the one thing I haven’t tried, although I completely uninstalled Vortex from my pc altogether for any unofficial mods!

Do not delete anything else just the ~mods folder
Also, check to see if there's a firewall that's preventing your game from loading
