Do I need xbox live to play legacy or can I play it without, iv just completed the introduction but it said i need to connect to online and downloaded the latest patch?

im not on xbox, but it seems all the game is asking is for you to be connected to the internet and to download and install the latest update.

Hmm im pretty sure i am connected to the internet but my uni internet May be finicky cos i just moved in and i only just downloaded the game so it should be updated??

No. You have to download and install the update even if you've just downloaded the game.
