THE HELM OF URTKOT mission bug-ps5

Idk if anyone has advice or can offer help, but I am so stuck on this mission because of a game bug. After you speak with Lodgok he does not leave Hogs Head for you to meet him. You cannot interact with him or do anything to get the mission to continue after you talk to him. Ive tried everything under the sun other than going back to an old save, which i really dont want to do. Ive seen this bug reported on the WB games website since the game was released and no patch made, but i wanted to try here to see if anyone can help?? This is a game breaker mission and part of the main story to continue. :/

I think if you tried everything you don't have the choice to try the last thing...

Maybe this is a silly question… but you DO have depulso unlocked right?

Am so have you tried going to the witches tomb? It might be a case if he’s spawned there but the game is still tracking the one in the Hogs Head Inn, but if you go to the tomb it will catch up

@spare turtle i do have it unlocked yes! And im at the right level to start it. Im not sure where the witches tomb is, will it be labeled as that in the map? Ill give it a go. Thank you!

@steep sparrow i just mean i tried what other ppl have and have gotten nowhere, was hoping someone had something that worked. Or a trick to debug

Go to this Floo flame here, that’s set up just outside the witches time (it’s actually called The Collector’s Cave)

Try waiting a few times while you’re there too, see if the game catches up with what it’s supposed to be doing

I noticed when im in the Room of Requirement it shows the mission icon in the right soot but as soon as i leave it moves back to the spot hes stuck

I assume that you started the quest by talking to him and tgen went off and did other things like dude quests and going to the RoR? Those are what causes the bug.

It’s STRONGLY recommended that you do a manual save before triggering any quest but Esoecially this one so you can go back to it if this happens.

Normally for main missions you can’t fast travel once you start it to avoid scripting issues like this one, but you can fast travel for this one which bugs the game.

I’ve read that if you go off and do side quests and stop tracking the Helm of Urtkot quest it can get him going again.

If not you’ll have to reload an earlier save from BEFORE you started the quest and this time, do the quest as soon as you start it.

If you don’t have a save that goes back that far the I’m afraid you’re out of luck and will have to start a new game.

@spare turtle ill give it another go and see if i can trigger it. Otherwise ill just have to wait and hope for a patch😭 i reeeeeaally dont want to start over. But thank you so so super much for trying to help i really appreciate you! ☺️
