idk bro, what device u on
PC
huhuhu I have the same problem
I already contacted the support team as well, I only got comforted cause they called me dear wizard and dear hogwarts student..
Did you update your graphics driver recently?
No but when I checked it says its up to date
I was asking OP but in your case if that's not the problem then I can't help you
try to disable shader caching.
Win+R
enter %appdata%
navigate out of Roaming
and go into Local/Hogwarts Legacy/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor
Open GameUserSettings.ini with your prefered editor or similar (its treated as a .txt file)
Scroll down to [ShaderPipelineCache.CacheFile]
beneath it, add r.ShaderPipelineCache.Enabled = 0
should look like this
[ShaderPipelineCache.CacheFile]
LastOpened=Phoenix
r.ShaderPipelineCache.Enabled = 0
yes
should i of not done that
give it a couple of min after doing what I listed
oh ok
For me it always does that the first time I fire up the game after updating my graphics driver. I usually just have to let it cook for five minutes or so while it eats up my CPU and then after that it's fine
yes. you can also disregard what I posted and let it run for a couple mins at that black screen. if that doesnt work, then come back here and follow those steps.
add r.ShaderPipelineCache.Enabled = 0 under LastOpened=Phoenix?
I can't find this in the file [ShaderPipelineCache.CacheFile]
itll be at the bottom once u open the note thing
its not there
the last thing on here is SystemSettings
And it's been like a month since I was able to play the game. It just suddenly stopped working and when the music stops I checked the programs that are running and it says Not responding.. haven't found anything that has been able to fix it.
was your [ShaderPipelineCache.CacheFile] at the super bottom after the [SystemSettings]? if so I might just manually add it in
yeah thats what i did
if its not there, you can add it yourself
make sure you save those changes too
IT WORKED THANK YOU
not me. it was just a lesser know fix that ppl reported as working for them. it's a known issue in a lot of UE titles.
