haven't been able to play the game (I paid for) in about a year and the website support hasn't solved the issue. Tried to get a refund from Steam and they continue to deny it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I will not be using the useless customer support form.

go to display settings> graphics>Change Default Graphics settings> Turn off Hardware accelerated gpu scheduling. restart your pc. and try play
as i had that turned on, and it was constantly crashing. i turned it off. and ive played nearly 20 hours without a single crash

it doesnt usually cause a fuss for other games. but you wont notice a difference, i havent
besides being able to play xD. however, its a potential fix for you, its worked for me and others. so its the obvious step worth trying first
id suggest turning it off, follow the steps, make sure your graphic settings are ideal for your system and play for about just over an hour and then get back to me 🙂

see i got my 4060 for free, originally had a 2070s, ive got that, an i7 14700kf, 32gb of ram. i usually run every game i own at 2k ultra (minus vr)
but with HL, its been nothing but problems. my logic was this "if i can run star citizen and rdr2, fivem and such and redm, amongst others" stably, how tf is this running so badly. its the game

might be worth the try, it could be for nothing, but it could fix it.
once in a blue moon a hard reset has fixed issues for me
