Why is the skeleton frozen In mid air?
Why can't I put the other 2 skeletons on the staves and why was there nothing in this chest after all the effort to get to it

You only need two skeletons, those are just extra for some reason. It's not 'frozen in midair' the skull and a few bones are attached to the pillar to indicate that you've used one skeleton for the puzzle. And there is something in that chest, it's a clothing item, that's not the chest you're looking for for the quest.

i know ive played the game before but when i opened it i got no new items whatsoever. i know coz i cleared out my inventory before the quest
