Hi, I've been facing an issue and have tried everything to fix this and I still run into the same issue over and over again with no success. I've completed the quest about 5 times over and have tried abandoning it and redoing it but all I keep on getting is the issue of Professor Rackham's first memory not working. I've also tried reinstalling the game to see if that fixes anything but nothing has seemed to work even when redoing it all. I need some help really being able to see the memory but all it does is just not progress any further. Does anybody know a fix for this?

I've been having this same issue since the May 4th patch. Never had this problem before then. It apparently has been a thing since launch but only happened to a handful of people and usually abandoning the quest and starting over fixed it. They claimed they fixed it in the May 4th patch but I guess only for console. On pc, it just made it worse...its happening 100% of the time and it's super frustrating that I can't progress in the game because of it. i redid the mission 5 times the other day and tried again yesterday and today and still get the same result.
I reinstalled the game today to fix twitch drops that were not showing. Used this to redo the quest, abandoning and restarting.
No success 😦
I'm considering creating a new save, as it is fairly early in the story progression, but I kinda don't want to reach the quest just to have the same error again
Am facing the same issue as well! The Pensieve Memory is not working. Please fix!
I can't believe how much time they are taking to fix core problems like this one. If there was any workaround fine, we could deal with the problem for the time being, but there is apparently none
Send your save to a friend, have them watch the cutscene, then save, then send back to you.

So yeah, I have this problem as well. Had to downgrade my game to the last version in order to get pass that as well as the house chest.
It's a shame that the only workaround to fix this damn bug is to downgrade the game, but at least I got through it.
This is still an issue 😢 Bet the boss like 10 times before giving up. I can't revert back to old version either because I made my new character in this time so I'd lose everything. 😦
Believe it or not, I already restarted my Ravenclaw for this.
This is my 3rd Playthrough, as im playing all houses and its my Ravenclaw too. I am just really trying to avoid restarting everything as I decded to do all side quests first this time round and took me so long 😦
Well, this is my fourth playthrough as well. And I already lost a big chunk of progress for my Ravenclaw, and I bet the old character can still be played after the game reverse.

I think so. Is a problem with Steam after the update.

I tried again with my 2nd character and I had this bug again
I just test it with a new installation. I had no problem with the first and second run
Unfortunately didn't work out. Then it's probably a matter of waiting for a hotfix or update😢
unless you guys wanna downgrade the game version and start the current character all over again, the only way is to stop playing and wait for the patch

explain how an older version accepted a newer version save, i tried that and it just plain didnt see the newer save and had to start a new game, then i got the silent dialog bug.
I guess you won't be able to play old save until you reverse it back, and change a language will solve the silent dialog bug.
ill try the change language bit. and i already switched it back

The May patch also changed the way saves are handled. I think it uses some form of compression since saves made on the new patch are half the size. You won't be able to use any of your saves when you downgrade. The only way through is to downgrade the game **AND **start over.

For now, the best action for this is to vote this and stop playing until they fixes it. But if you got time, downgrade it, start over your exsiting character to past this point and get the house relic robe, as well as any character you wish to start in the future. then reverse the game back to the new version, that you can play your old save, I think.

I managed to overcome by creating a new save file. I rushed story, just to try out, turns out it worked. So I'm playing on a new save until they fix it, if they ever do so
I hope the old save will work after I reverse back to the new version...
I spent 200 hours on that two characters...
I've just "upgraded" back to the new version. Old saves work. Not sure the benefits of upgrading at the moment, but I'm running into an issue of ||finding the ancient magic areas across the map to make the ancient magic bar go from 2 slots to 3 etc. It doesn't work. I've collected like 4 of these now and nothing changes. Works for my girlfriend on the old version. Doesn't work for me on the old version and upgrading did nothing, so I'm going to assume bugged save. ||
needless to say, I can come by with two slots🤣

Still after nearly 3 weeks there is no update on this game breaking bug, my 1st support ticket response fro WB Game Support was to link to a bug on the tracker that was for the PS5 bug that was fixed in the May 4th Patch, even though my ticket clearly stated I was playing on PC on Steam 😦

The interesting thing is that all that we noticed with the quest tracker in the minimap still occurred even on the save that worked for me. That is going to a distant place in dungeon map midway through the chamber before boss encounter, and the "flickering" it does before it updates to the boss arena.
If this help, what I did was
- remove all mods before starting a new save and kept that way until I finished the first trial (for safety, but people reported not using mods at all and getting the error, so I doubt it have any relevance)
- selected a different house from the one I had at the corrupted save file (also doubt it have any relevance. I was playing on Gryffindor, selected Hufflepuff for this test)
- rush the main quest (yellow). That means no collectables, no side quests, nothing. I only did what was necessary to keep progressing the yellow quests. Occasionally grabbed some field guide pages just to meet level requirements when needed
That being said...
I can't say if anything of that have any impact on the success I had. As I said, I doubt mods influenced the error due to prior reports of other players. I also doubt the house would impact too. For the last point, it could be possible that a side quest, or a particular early collectable, mess around with database or any programming stuff / spaghetti code... that makes some sense. Again, can't say for sure
ok so i changed the language to german played a while and yes they spoke german but when i changed it back i got the no voice again, truly you arent suggesting i play in a lanquage i dont understand.
exactly wtf does changing the language to fix the no voice bug do?
and on e thing the no voice bug does is it wont let you even communicate in a quest, i click on talk to fig and he just ignores and dont even see me
I've joined the Discord to see if anyone else is having these issues as well. I've had this issue for a few weeks now, I'm nearly 30 hours into my savefile, I'm level 33, I cannot pass the quest. I do not have any friends that play this game either, I'm just stuck, unfortunately.
there is a way to get past it. go to the steam forums and look for a post to roll back one patch, it worked for my luckily i had an old save game from april i used
Yeah of course, but I'd be losing my 30 hours, I'd rather not.
Only way is to wait out. They aren't going to release a hotfix for this. They will release a fix in a big patch at some point. I sympathize.
I ended up downgrading and starting over. It sucks.

ya aint gonna lose it, just tuck the save away till its fixed in the meantime start another character. or just wait and not play
