I am missing one collection chest. I have double checked all vivariums and butterfly chest locations. I also have book comleted and all map items completed. Please help !

I think the last butterfly chest is not counted by the game. I am also missing one collection chest but i know it is one with butterflies. However, when i try to collect it, it opens and nothing happens. So it is a bug, and you probably opened it without realizing it didn't work

From this post is unclear if you are missing one collection chest or one buttefly collection chest( bc of tittle).
if you are missing one butterfly chest you can zoom out in the map and it will show you how many you have of total for each area.
if you are talking in general about collection chests you can use the same methotology to see if any appear missing. when you find the area you can revelio on your broom going around the area and the location will eventually appear.
In addition to butterflies, caves, exploration chests, herendonia challenges (depulso puzzle room), and 3 per vivarium and vendor in hogsmead .
If you tried all of that and you are still missing one, you probably have a bug you can join us and upvote this post.

In hogsmeade there is a secret underground area you collect tentaculas for a side quest. It’s in there. I had this same issue
