#Gear Limit?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
It is 40 at most and I believe it was 50 or 55 Trials for that in total.
Doing the 55 trails don't increase it past 40?
That makes it difficult to pick up gear with all the chests that are in the world
There's plenty of shops in Hogsmeade where you can sell and stalls around the open world. Haven't had an issue with the 40 gear limit at all yet
Yeah I know that Im talking about the if the limit is 40 then why extra Merlin Trails and so many chests and Legendary chests the numbers are drastically unbalanced. If I where in this Games Development team I would have designed it differently @pale vector
They seem to have extra of everything. I did notice that with the Demiguises as well. Maybe they were planning on people not being able to figure some of them out or put extra in for the future or something. Who knows.
I'm looking for the new DLCs that would expand things further to include those extras also the Beasts offspring should grow to adults
It’s because you don’t explore the world… 40 is a serious problem if you want to keep like 2 legendary stuff and explore
I spend my time destroying items
I usually explore a lot and put the best ones on when I get them and just sell the rest in villages and Hogsmeade. I don't go out exploring endlessly without somewhere to sell if I know my gear inventory is nearly full and I always check as it is. Maybe just different play styles
It’s not only a different play style when the majority of the players says they want bigger inventory
Collect gear, keep the gear with the best stats, and sell the rest to the vendors. You can always change appearance 🙂
Right? The gears for this games is ridiculously uncomplicated and easy to upgrade or change traits. Where is there even a need for multiple sets? Having appearance separate is fantastic. And items don’t even share the same inventory space. Floo flames makes selling/identifying extremely easy as well. Yah, inventory is small to start and was annoying, but once fully expanded it’s fine. Occasionally, I had to destroy, but it’s not like the green stuff is worth much and by the end of the game, money is not even an issue. HL gear system is so simple and nothing to sweat about that inventory is really not big of an issue. And this is coming from someone who usually needs to so much inventory space in games that I pay for a lot of inventory expansions in mmorpg, smartphone games, etc.
EXACTLY thats what I'm saying@reef plaza
Ok but if your use to playing God of War especially the last too Assassin Creed Franchise, The Witcher, Franchise and other games like that this is very jarring and doesn't hold true to others Open World Games in the same genre. Its Game Design Ooops @midnight estuary
Interesting have you Played The any of the Assassins Creed games especially the last 3 or God of War? @pale vector
True, once you have legendary items (orange) the other items become useless. Which is pretty stupid to see a legendary lvl 30 item being better than an extraordinary lvl 35.
But! You technically can use artifacts on items. So, technically you should have a set for hunting with artifacts like "Incendio is stronger Ill for exemple and you should have a set for camps with like "When invisible, your spells are stronger III" and another set for the arenas with better dark spells.
I mean, the game is ridiculously easy (it's the 1st game I decide to chose an higher difficulty) so yeah you don't even have to care about the artifacts but they made it for that purpose so you should keep multiple items if you follow that and if you want to role play.
They simply mess up with the stats on items so yeah everyone keep the best one and voilà but as many people say, if you use to play games like Assassin's Creed, BotW, God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2, ... you spent time on your items to have strong stats. You never simply destroy items like I did in Hogwarts Legacy.
This game was unfortunately made for people who never play video games and if you are used to inventory system on any other games you will spend your time destroying or selling which brings nothing for the gameplay. I played 79 hours on that game actually and I'm sure I spent at least 2 hours only to destroy and sell items.
Thats exactly what im saying I totally agree. That is what my experience is too ive playedall those games and was expecting Portkey to take what was best about all the Assassins Creeds God of War,The Witcher even both Spider-Mans on Playstation and improve on those concepts for Hogwarts. Everyone does look for those advancements when games come out especially with popular franchises. Not saying Hogwarts is bad or they screwed up its an amazing game they just didn't go hard into the areas that creators like Corey Balrog get awardes and praises for. Something they should think about for the Hogwarts Sequel@reef plaza
You could call it game design oops, or I see it as perhaps them knowing a (I speculate) big portion of their target market — the portion of non-gamers, lite-gamers, or usually cozy/life-sim players that are here because of the HP universe — the portion that don’t and maybe can’t deal with complicated gears or things like having to stalk & grind some boss for upgrade materials.
Do you really think people will buy a PS5 just to play Hogwarts Legacy?
I mean, as a dev you should never think like “let’s make a game easy because customers are not smart enough to learn mechanics”
We always learn new mechanics from new games.
And if they struggle with that mechanic, they can turn down the difficulty. Actually, even the normal difficulty is like the easy one on any other RPG.
I always play with easy difficulty (not the easiest one, just easy)
But for Hogwarts Legacy I regret I didn’t chose “hard” because normal was boringly easy.
Uhm. I did actually. I couldn't wait for the PS4 release.
And it's also available on PC... You know... something a lot of people already own.
P.S. Have you see the Reddit posts or youtube comments of guys saying how their non-gaming s/o is now playing HL on their console?
Full disclosure: I'm a 20+ year HP book fan. This is my first console single-player real-time combat open world rpg game (unless you count Monster Hunter series, which I don't). I never felt the need to upgrade to PS5 until HL. Yes, I'm a gamer. My first game was a DOS RPG game in the pre-Windows OS era. (I know. Shows my age.) However, this genre was simply not something that attracted me that much.... until Hogwarts Legacy.
Yeah I see that point and I also believe WB and Portkey intentionally wanted to go the direction of a Assassins Creed,God of War,Witcher direction to attract those type players to the WizardingWorld as well in addition to HP fans to boost overall sales @midnight estuary
I think that's smart of them though to try to boost their sales by capturing that part of the audience.
Objectively speaking as a gamer.... There's a lot left to be desired... This is not a game I'd recommend to everyone tbh. When I really want to game, I close it and play something else.
But subjectively speaking as a long-time HP fan. Y'all this is the best game ever in the universe. I wanted to freaking cry when I stepped into Hogwarts. 🤷🏻♀️
That’s why there is an easy difficulty to chose. You don’t get the point that the game is too easy even when you want it to be “normal”
Lol. I played it on story. I'll find my challenge from a different game TYVM. 😂
Don’t think I’m a hardcore gamer, if you read my previous message I said I always play with easy difficulty for any RPG but for Hogwarts Legacy I’ll chose hard for my next character
Lol. Have fun. Do you plan to make 4 chars in the end? I've seen some people saying that they'll do it naked on hard mode for extra challenge.
So you haven't Played Spider-Man & Mike's Morelas, God of War 4 & Ragnarok ,The Witcher 3,Assassins Creed Origins,Odyssey or Valhalla Red Dead or any other game like those? @midnight estuary
Nope for various reasons like I hate melee, I prefer female protag or at least a guy I find attractive enough to stare at for hours, etc. Like mmorpg, I’m always the mage, healer, or archer. And I love Horizon Forbidden West because it checks all my boxes and it’s actually really fun.
Assassins Creed does have all those customizations you can choose Male or Female except ethnicity which is very bad. I believe the more customizations the better and the choices to carve out your own path with different outcomes is very important to RPG games @midnight estuary
