The ones that are the coolest and go together the best in your opinion should be close together
I also have one bar reserved for utility
An alternative is:
1:red spells
2:purple spells
3:yellow spells
4:unforgivables or utility
In harder difficulties I recommend a good mix of spells to ensure you can take down shields quickly.
Something like 2 x red (damage) spells, 1 x yellow (control )and 1 x purple (force) on at least two out of the four presets will ensure you have a range of spell options while others are on cooldown.
It really depends on your playstyle.
If you are very proficient at dodging and counters, or use potions and combat plants more often: you can rely on spells less.
Personally, I do the
1 utility spell - revelio, wingardium leviosa, lumos, disillusionment (because I like sneaking around and casting imperio and watch them kill each other)
1 red spells
1 unforgivables + expelliarmus
1 levioso, arresto momentum, depulso, descendo
I don’t feel the need to have one that has a combo of all colors just because it’s one switch to the yellow & purple spells and the unforgivables break all shields. However, having a mixed colored one did also seem like a really good idea in the beginning for me. I just ended up chosing something that I think works better for my play style.
I usually run these spells, one one spell list, i do accio, expelliarmus, diffindo and on another list i run confringo and glacius and that seems to get me through every battle, it can take some getting use to, to be good with those combos but i do good with them
I have my main load out on one utility on another and beast care on another then unforgivables on another
I follow the tips in game. 2 red spell, 1 yellow, 1 purple.
Mine arrangements
1st slot : expelliarmus, diffindo, leviosa, accio
2nd slot : bombarda, transfiguration, depulso, aresto momentum
3rd slot : confringo, incendio, glacius, either flipendo or descendo
4th slot : is save for unforgivable curses/ beast catching combo spell/ lumos/ desillusionment charm/ and RoR spells.
