I think the fact that the game is singleplayer would make it much more of a peaceful playthrough, but I wouldn't mind in the slightest if they added a public dueling mode or a multiplayer quidditch match. Could be a great opportunity to make friends and discuss things with people that you wouldn't have otherwise met

I agree! I think if they added the Dueling mode, it would be bracketed by the players knowledge of spells. Like, if you only know about 3, you'd be put in a duel with someone else with 3 spells, but if you know like 15, then you'd be fighting someone of a higher knowledge and power level to match with yours

On the topic of possible toxicity, there should be a mute button on your opponents profile, so if they yell at you or something, you can just boop and no yelling. Or if their playstyle is very toxic, they can just reset matchmaking. A standby option would be nice, so you can run around while it's trying to find you a duel and pulls you into it once you're paired. Could be fun

It doesn't need to. Hogwarts Legacy could make its own canon going forward, completely fine. As long as everything up to 1890 is lore friendly they honestly are allowed to make a whole new timeline. Hogwarts Legacy isn't canon to the Harry Potter universe.

It's not possible when you take in the players leveling system and the perks and skills they have. Removing that feature for the duel would ruin the purpose of combat in HL anyway.
