Here's your answer @spark gorge It never matters. It's a videogame. Ranked in every game is utter nonsense, but especially so in any BR game because your chance of winning a match is determined heavily by RNG and circumstance

I won my last match because I spawned on top of gold armor, and several gold stashes, didn't see anyone for like 10 minutes, and then the last five people all piled ontop of each other and I had purple duel blades charged horizontal, and killed em all in a corner.

You would like to know when the ranked experience changes in some significant way, it doesn't.

for most fighting games the rock paper scissors is, overhead/low/grab. This one it's gray/blue/red, and yes fighting games have side switch mix ups, and armored supers, and lots of other stuff but the main mechanics of the game is rock vs paper vs scissors. That's just fine.

Hold check exists, you can hold longer than what you usually lose and if they parry, they still lose if they parry too early. Dodge exists, using tap dodge and hold dodge effectively allow you to keep out of blue focus attack and in some case, throw out a parry in respond to certain blue focus.

Is there more going on then literally 3 inputs, yes, obviously, but within all the more inputs happening, you have the base main mechanic of the classic weapon triangle of rock paper scissors.
