I have a hard time understanding what the issue is. Please follow the advices in #how-to-get-help to provide a minimal reproduction of your problem.
Note that by using Angular 8, you're choosing to avoid 4.5 years of bug fixes. The current stable version of Angular is 17. Why stay on such an old, unsupported version of Angular?

It's also unclear why you think a component should be reloaded.

Yes, this is a weird situation, I couldn't fathom why would it reload.
