I am currently trying to use the google maps api in order to just display the map and a couple pin points. Is there any angular documentation on this? I have heard that Angular has their own component for it, but it is not seeming to work.

We've also had great success after switching to Leaflet (OpenStreetMap), a free alternative. Digital Ocean has some great documentation on getting it up and running with Angular:
