A little backstory. Several months backs I mistakenly ordered some 400mm 2020 extrusion. So about a month back I wanted to find a use for these extrusions that were collecting dust. I’m too lazy to cut all of it so I set out to see what I could build without cutting. What you get is what you see in the picture. All the frame rails except the X gantry and cross bar under the A/B steppers is 400mm. The 2 back upright extrusions are 400mm 2040 stolen from an old Ender 3 frame. I believe it will end up with about a 230 cubed volume. Maybe a little less in Z. Mercury X/Y gantry with custom tension towers. Voron Trident Z axis with slightly modified rear stepper and carriage mount. I went with the Trident Z because I thought it may give me a little more Z travel. I still have a little way to go but I’m enjoying my little monstrosity. I’ll update as I progress.

Thinking about a name for it. “Mercury and Voron Trident”. It’s begging to be called a “Moron”

Did some wiring today and some basic function test. I still need to go back and clean up the wiring. I’m waiting on a few parts to come in tomorrow. I hope to melt some plastic by the end of the day tomorrow but we will see. I added a top hat due Z axis travel limitations.

I got delayed a little but it’s melting plastic. Hopefully my clear acrylic doors will be in later this week and I still need to set up the chamber thermistor.
