#Y-Axis Linear Rails Interfere with Tension Tower Installation

Morning! Hoping someone can give me their opinion in this ... pepeSmug

Started my Merc build this weekend on my Ender 5 Pro with a kit I bought from Fabreeko which comes with 330mm linear rails.

I was installing the tension towers and found that once I put the tension screws in FOUR TURNS and pushing the tower back to lock them down, the y-axis linear rails are in the way. I initially installed them as the instructions said. I used a ruler, marked center on both the rail and the extrusions, lined up both marks and tightened them down. Then later went to install the tension towers and I can't push the towers back all the way. So I made the decision to move the rails, install the tension towers, and then just center the rails on the remaining space. I have included pictures of the frame where it shows you that my center marks are not aligned and then a picture to show the placement of the towers, motors, rails, and bed location. It looks like I could technically push my rails all the way up to tension towers in the front and be okay on the back side of the build plate. Seems to be enough "runway" for the X-gantry to move.

Thoughts?

Also, after I install the rails, I can remove the white retention clips after I install the rails, right? I'm thinking yes?

TIA!!

Good Morning, The rails just need to be centered to where everything has room to do what it needs to do, I am not able to give you my measurement references as I am on an 5+ but, I does not need to be exact middle.

As to the white shipping clips, they are there to make sure the carriage does not come off when you are moving it around and during shipping. They can be removed when everything is installed. Hope this helps.
