I followed the project for so long so I finally decided to build one.
Last month I bought a used Ender 5 Pro with the idea to transform it to Mercury One.1
I sourced most of the parts at local shops and only few was ordered from Aliexpress - belt, idlers, t-nuts and heated inserts.

In this build log I'll attach pictures, configurations and few issues that I currently facing and I hope some of you guys will manage to help.

What I'm using as hardware:

  • LGX Lite Extruder
  • Phaetus Rapido HF Hotend
  • BTT Octopus Pro

This is a printer at stock form 😄

#

I removed all parts and started from scratch - ensuring that the frame is square as possible. Then I attached the linear rails with the printed helpers for squaring as well as stepper towers at the back.

#

EVA 2.4 toolhead and belts was mounted as well as electronics section. At this point I was ready for first tests.

As side note: NOCTUA fans are not good for cooling the hotend. I switched with SUNON which was way better.

#

The printer is DONE and moving 🙂 At the back you can see one more Mercury One.1 candidate which printed all the parts with ASA.
Also I made a new display cable (1m long) because it will be separate from the printer.

#

Whats come next:

  • Fine tune the input shaper resonances and pressure advance settings.
  • Klicky probe which I still need to fine tune.
  • Hydra for sure, this stock bed is not reliable at all.

Yeah.. it was a 30 minutes project 😄
Jokes aside ... All of this happen last week for about 15-20 hours of work. Most of the time was for electronics...

Where did you find the mounts that lower the linear rails? I didn't print them before i tore apart my printer 😦

#

assembled everything and was well dam lol

@near crater for which mounts exactly you are talkin about?

#

If you mean these, they are in the docs configurator.

Yeah. Dam I must have missed them.

Yes they are on Mercury Configurator not EVA and the files are called:
Z_DropBracket_5Pro_1.stl
Z_DropBracket_5Pro_2.stl

#

Basically they are the same, one is for the left, and the other is for the right side

Hi! I’m trying to print parts with abs on my ender 5 pro,but they’re warping always, could you recommend something? How did you printed your parts?

Hello! Sry for late response, I used a glue specially created for ABS/ASA and it did well with zero warping
