I had been following the Mercury project since almost the beginning. I was never really interested in high speed printing but after seeing some higher end CoreXY machines, I decided I needed it. I was actually going to step away from the hobby for awhile because between work and my boat, I had ZERO time. So seeing this style of machine, really re-ignited my passion for the hobby. I was going to build either a RatRig VCore 3 or a scratch built CoreXY speed demon, when I came across ZeroG Mercury and I just so happened to have a spare E5P that i had many hours on that I was going to give to a friend.

I spent a few days printing parts and scouring Amazon and 3D printing sites for parts. Started building the Merc and was making good progress. The new X Joints came out and seemed like a must have so I reprinted those.

The 1.1 has been performing well for me and I’ve really enjoyed the process.

This build log will be dedicated to a hydra and will probably be somewhat short. I’m more of a “get only done” builder than a blogger. But I’ll try to update and at least show parts used.

Just something so sexy about Hydra arms and a fleet of mini tanks. I kinda just want to keep them on a shelf 😂

Well, Amazon has graciously set me back a couple of days. They sent me 300mm DIN rails instead of 500. So, replacements will arrive Wednesday.

But, the mechanical part of Hydra is done, and I must say looks amazing. So robust.

In the meantime, I’m reprinting my tool head. I figure it’s a good opportunity to refresh my EVA parts. Also going to swap out the heavy LGX with an LGX Lite.
