Hi everyone! I have some questions about service animals! I do live in the USA so I would follow ADA laws for service animals.
1 ~ how long do u have to be diagnosed before u can get one?
2 ~ how are they helpful for u (if you feel like sharing)
3 ~ how do u handle access issues
4 ~ can you get cards to hand out with all the ada law info on it?
5 ~ what is a service dog like having a sd at school?

hi i am extremly late to this but we have an SD that went to high school w/us for 2 years and prom and now college so heres some of our tips
1 - i owner trained my boy so no idea
2- very lol, he tells me b4 i have a seizure
3 - The only ones ive had issues with are school (which is illegal) and i just say “hes allowed to go with me under federal law, denying access is a misdemenor and you can pay upwards of $500 in fine (fines vary per state)” that shut em up quickly, jst show you know the law
4 - yeah ! some creators on etsy sell them, but personally i dont since access isnt my biggest issue
5 - for high school, students actually left me alone, the teachers were the worst. bending down to talk to him and what not. adults. suck. you’ll have to defend your rights the most with them. otherwise, classmates would smile and aww, and ive had a few kids try to talk but then their friends stop them. it was smooth sailing. the admin was the difficulty for me.
