one thing im trying to do is make confidants actually require effort to advance and needing to often spend time with them to get enough for the next level, plus having some ranks just be gated behind time. of course, with everything i take away, i try to add more to compensate at least (this also means players can have more hangouts with them without purposefully being unoptimized, since it will be needed anyways).
The whole idea of the mod is that the world goes on and doesnt revolve around the player, and confidants are the biggest culprits of the game's playercentric philosophy imo

this is somewhere where I feel like Makoto's link could have benefited from exactly that type of structure because ignoring the glazing, I think her arc in the main story is handled in a mostly competent way. it's mainly the ending and afterwards where it fumbles

I honestly don't know what I'd change -- she's in an interesting position of like. Her whole deal only really reads well on a replay? She can be a little baffling on a first playthrough unless you've been spoiled -- and if you do fully like her on a first playthrough (which I did!), at some point you have to reckon with a lot of like. Psychological horror that repaints it all in retrospect. I think it's a really cool replay-value thing, but it does kind of do her an injustice for a first playthrough that would be nice to. IDK. Fix. Somehow. (See also: the fact that she is forever Kasumi in every other Atlus project or post ever TFW we're in the Maruki ending forever I guess)

This is really well done. When I first started playing (before I switched to BetaFemc) I powered through and destroyed Kamoshida as a sort of trans masc Jonkler. I really like your edits. I finished the game as Akage but I really liked my time fighting Kamoshida as my Dark past trans masculine Joker. And a lot of that headcanon found its way to my PC for my Akage playthrough.

thanks. im trying to do justice to p5's themes by having a world that properly reacts to our jonke. ren is constantly framed as 'delinquent that looks normal, but because of the rumors people think he must be secretly bad' ('he looks normal... but i bet when he loses it...' is a common peanut gallery dialogue for example), but this one? she does not look 'normal', she does not fit the mold even if the rumors are false anyway, and rumors will continue with or without an 'unjustly given criminal record'. I want to explore p5's themes of rebellion and carving a space for yourself and others like you more in depth, and i think a joker that doesnt fit the norm allows for a deeper dive into these themes anyway (aside from me just wanting a fem joker)

Yes! I initially had a really dark backstory for Ame who later named themself Ameshi cause it sounded edgy. S/he was always genderqueer. As trans masc Joker He was attacked by bullies that led to a horrible accident with broken ribs and permanent damage. He decided to tell his dad he didn’t know what he would do at 18. But he’d rather see if he could register in a new school as male and have some dispensation to change in private. He’s also my pc in Strikers. But my Akage could easily be the Take Your Time Joker too as she’s genderqueer.

I like how the writing both touches on homophobia as well as gender roles and transphobia as well.

You could even have a counterpoint later where there’s a character who is known for liking girls; but since she is very feminine the school kids aren’t as suspicious of her as they are of Joker.

Which is bigotry plain and simple obviously; but it happens. (too often)

Makoto is a great character to make fruity I highly recommend the Stage show. Her awakening looks fantastic on stage. As a older school butch there’s so much meaning and layers you can get from a lesbian awakening to a personality as a Rebellious antipope motorcycle.

And she’s a boxer/Hand to hand artist.

Haru’s story is all about her being forced into a tiny little closet that she is barely allowed out of to do anything.

So having her be queer with your rewrites is something I look forward to as well.

Some of it is cause my stuttering over the years has evolved to repetition on occasion but I just wanted to let you know that I really do enjoy what you are doing here. The FeMC for this project is a Stone Butch who currently looks almost identical to Ren Amamiya aka Joker.

The Mod creator has stated they want to work with modeling but there will likely only be some small changes as in this story overhaul, Joker is a very masculine woman and unfortunately a lot of the nastier rumours about her reflect this.

I personally prefer her without glasses but that’s my thing.

There are 3 completed (cosmetic anyway) FeMC projects besides this one.

There is Female Protagonist which is mostly cosmetic, although it has some romance.

BetaFeMC which is working on more models and expanding the areas and even adding Nanako from P4 in the next update.

And Kasumi as Protagonist which is frequently used alongside Rose and Violet which is a complete storyline mod from Start to Finish.

But Keep an Eye on this mod. It does something completely unique. It takes care with the storyline and characters and the dialogue feels real

Oh @fresh mulch You might want to talk to CroissantGuard from the Betafemc team or the team in general when you get more into modeling and stuff as She is the same height as Joker. They would probably have some great suggestions if you ever wanted to do custom costumes or tweak her model around at all.

Akage’s is the only FeMC model that is the same height as Joker and can actually use his costumes and CG is just a awesome nii-chan
