#texture file editing P5D PS4

original bin here the .TGA is an incomplete but testing of editing the texture file and the _replaced.bin has the .TGA replaced
did a simple export as bitmap from the original bin for the texture 00 file and then replaced the file without modifications and then rebuilt the bin file and same thing occurs
Only thing that leaves me to believe is the way Amicitia is interacting with the replacement process or some metadata or info is not extracted when you originally extract the texture
here is the finished texture in .tga and .png
this is the weirdest part because I only edited the buttons which shouldnt cause this unless its some engine bs (buttons are in the correct spot and I think the scratch rings as well but everything else isnt. Either small or cropped improperly). Dimensions aren't modified either and its kept the same as original
where did you get the bin file from
if its data cpk you have the wrong file
data cpk contains vita assets
you need to edit the file thats inside ps4 cpk

I get that this was originally a vita game but why are the vita textures still present in the ps4 version π
with a lot of old atlus games, data.cpk is identical across all platforms
this applies to the original P5 for example
Does Amicitia not support exporting the .gnf files to .tga or .gnf? Keep getting an exception error fallback
it's a proprietary format so no
gfd studio and noesis can export from gnf
but to make one you need sdk tools
funny that tga worked though, maybe try using that for the edited texture still

It exports but I think the header is corrupted because gimp doesn't read it properly. Tried loading in noesis64 as well and no luck

rename to .gnf and open it in gfd studio

looks like it did import however looks like my edits might have ruined the transparency any advice?
the Y B and A had to import in as a layer cause I custom made them however it prolly has to do something with the way I merged the layers I assume? ( I also added an alpha channel to the main texture to make edits? maybe thats what broke it?)

are the dance_ui_p3.bin unused assests?
wondering if they are only there cause the games were developed near the same time
or is there some part of the game where you can change the dance UI to the P3D one

dc was able to merge all 3 games with exe patching
you cannot
games themselves function exactly the same but ui is different
even if you load songs from "other dancing games"
oh so all the Ui files are in the game itself but the only ones that can be used in P5D
