the way bfs are compiled by emulator is that the vanilla file is used as a base and then modded files (and any files those files import) are imported into it

since theyre already in the vanilla file, including vanilla procedures in a modded file is not merely redundant but should actively fail to compile as there should never be more than one procedure with the same name

Not necessarily. For the boys, I had this idea of editing the scheduler to check if one of their romance is enabled. If so, it would play differently:

• One event where Kasumi is thinking about what's she's doing for White Day. Select one of the romance that was unlocked.
• If a girl is selected : plays normally.
• If a guy is selected : he is the one who meets Sojiro who then gives him tips for the White Day date.

Late response but vanilla P5 only goes up to Christmas and then jumps to February for obligatory Valentines.

I bet time constraints within the game were a part of the reason why we have so many automatic Slinks, Akechi one of them. You’re on a time crunch to finish these confidants which have high stat requirements and might I remind that in Vanilla, if there was story, you were going to sleep. Studying, cleaning or coffee brewing and all the other little activities you can do while locked in Leblanc to work on your stats a bit weren’t a thing. That's only Royal.

Since Akechi is the traitor, I wouldn’t be surprised if the dev team thought they’d do the bare minimum for his character/Confidant. The result is that Akechi was omega underbaked as a character and his role as the rival underwhelming.

Thanks to KaP and R&V I've replayed P5R and the original Confidant scenes are SO bad. He still comes to Leblanc to whine how nobody likes him and randomly traumadump, even though his new rank 6 does this waaaay better and more naturally.

I think the Stage Play does a much better job of flushing out some of the character concepts. I mean that’s the job of a stage play… But it also shows how thin Akechi and Even Joker are. Their actors and songs are absolutely phenomenal. But even with the extra attention Akechi is delightful, but mostly because they cast him well.

That might be the point but Although it’s a good enough show that it made me want a p5Royal show… Persona 3 Weird Masquerade shows you everything buried in the text and how much little stuff you miss with every character.

P5 does that too, just unfortunately characters like Akechi didn’t have that much to dig into in p5 vanilla.

I think he’s more flushed out in Royal but they could have done a lot more with him.

Most of my weird minific stuff and love of Ryuji is actually because of P5 the Stage. He’s AMAZING and Mamoru Miyano is too. the fact Mamoru is a stage actor means that Kouhei Shiota and him could be on the same stage and that’s really cool.

I think I will keep his third awakening the same, but I'll use the unused jazz club event for his romance rank 10. In the engine room he'll only level up to 9 if you confess to him in rank 8. after 1/9 (when you're free to make decisions in the third semester) he'll call you at night and tell you to meet him in front of penguin sniper when you have the time. you'll then go to the jazz club and you'll talk about what you meant and that's when he accepts. this way you can go on dates throughout the third semester
