Kohryu, Seiryu, Suzaka, Byakko, and Genbu, as derived from from their Chinese namesakes, each are aligned with an element of Wuxing: Earth, Wood, Fire, Metal, and Water respectively.
In the Megami Tensei games, all of these mythological figures have skillsets that are inconsistent with Wuxing, aside from Suzaka (ignoring P5 where for some reason it uses Nuke?😭)
The goal of this post is to document mythology relating to each of these figures, come up with skill sets that reasonably adhere to both their mythology and symbiology in Wuxing, and ask for help with some versions of this mod. I know I can figure it out for P3R, but I have no idea how to mod older versions of P3, P4G, or P5(R).

Yes I know that these elements don't translate well into Atlus' magic system, the point of this is as a concept

im not sure what youd do for like half of these, the elements just straight up dont exist in any of these games 😭
i feel like ice tends to be used to substitute water but idk about the others

That's kind of the point in making it a thread

#

Mostly the fact that it's so inconsistent across games is bugging me

yeah ok this is... yeah. I made the post, which was my progress for tonight 😭

My research is not helping anything.

From what I’ve found, in Japanese mythology:
Byakko presides over the wind, but because it also presides over the cold, both ice and wind spells make sense
Seiryu: wind would work since apparently it falls under the wood element’s features, but it being a water dragon in Japanese mythos, it also makes some amount of sense for it to use ice, since that’s the closest to water we’ve got in these games
