Finally done with Shido's Palace. Overall still didn't like it but i do like: Spoilers for the edits: ||I do like the changes to shed some light on the trial. I did like the DLC a whole lot more.

A Splatoon like DLC, Akechi oh and finally Violet in another Persona game! Now I had a blast.

Akechi and Sumire felt powerful (mind you i wasn't also liking the damage outputs before this DLC..) and I was like sweet when do I get them for main game?

Game: Um actually fuck you they are locked behind NG+ like Satatel.

That's the one ball they dropped. The two characters that could generally pack a punch and carry you just felt too easy and just makes you go through the story without them. Like what is the point after beating the story? All replay ability dies after you beat it.

Didn't really impact me much because I beat it AFTER the main story.

And other than it's other steam achievements I felt no desire to return at all to Tactica.

Even still i hated it. Because the DLC ||sets up the actual main Campaign!||

• akechi confidant
• new mementos music
• scene rewrites to remove homophobia (in localization)

alright so i wrote down my thoughts but its very long so ill have to make two posts haha
||for example in marukis palace there's this cutscene of kasumire's dad mourning their mom (originally kasumi) and the dialogue there was a little strange. i believe he said something like "the grandparents will be here" which doesn't make any sense if he's talking to his wife, he would be saying "your/my parents". and then he said "she'll be here too", talking about sumire. but obviously kasumi would be there as well. so it should be "they/our girls will be hre too".
also there's basically no point to this entire cutscene now since it doesn't have anything to do with sumires character development anymore, with kasumi not being the victim and sumire starting to realize shes's not actually her. especially since their mums death is never brought up again i think. i guess maybe the point was that sumire thought her parents were still alive because of the brainwashing and thats why she was rattled from seeing this flashback?
however in the scene where maruki brainwashes her, the parents never come up. she only talks about how she wants to be like kasumi. actually, that doesnt make any sense either. i mean if both her parents died, that would be the main reason for her depression before being the inferior sister. no one ever makes a big deal out of them being orphans though.
and then we have the big anime cutscene of kasumi dying. the explanation ended up being that maruki stopped sumire from crossing the street with his power. she then ran off somewhere with kasumi looking for her and encountering shido in the process and getting arrested. but the cutscene clearly takes place in a big city and also during daytime.||

||whereas kasumi meets shido in the late evening in her rural hometown.
now i know this is just a mod and i was ready to suspend my disbelief for this, but maruki just happened to be in kasumis hometown as well? and the parents both died, yet kasumi is acting all happy to sumire in this cutscene, which would never be the case. they would both be totally depressed after their dad died as well. so in the end there were just too many problems for me in this scene.
now one more thing about the ending. kasumi can go back to being a gymnast but she has to go home. sumire says she will join her which makes sense. they want to train and make their dream come true together after all. but then it says sumire will go back to tokyo soon after? why wouldnt she stay with kasumi and their grandparents? either that or kasumi stays in tokyo too.
actually the latter seemingly might happen since sumire says her coach wants to train kasumi too. but if they just stay i think it would weaken the ending of everyone leaving and following their dreams.
to me it would make more sense for the twins to go back home and train under their old coach who should now also be cleared from the false cheating allegations.
and then we have the final anime cutscene where joker/kasumi meets sumire at the station, that obviously doesnt make sense since sumire is going home with kasumi.||

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to clarify what you've mentioned here, since it may just be that it's not clear enough in game. It's a bit long too, so let me know if I forgot anything!

||About the parents and Sumire:
Sumire was suffering from her inferiority complex before her parent's death, but it was "manageable". In the base story, Kasumi's death is what tips the scale and starts pushing her into depression. In this mod, it's the parents death. The aim of the edits for the mourning scene (where the dad mourns the mom) is to show that Sumire was deeply affected, but that Kasumi is staying strong (which, in some way, reinforce Sumire's inferiority complex).
This scene is schocking to Sumire because their parents came back to life in Maruki's reality and her actualization is failing (which constently happens throughout the whole game).

Maybe my edits aren't conveying it correctly, so I'll see what I can do about this scene.

A small note: It's not that weird to me that he mentions "Grandpa" "Grandma" instead of "my parents/her parents" because my family do that. I don't know how other people feel about that though.||

||About Sumire's actualization:
Sumire has a deep inferiority complex when she compares herself to Kasumi. She's convinced herself that she's worthless and that she's being a burden to Kasumi (who spends a lot of time helping her instead of focusing on her training). If she can't achieve their dream, at least she'd let Kasumi achieve it.
The parents death causes her to finally lash out at Kasumi during the cutscene, but it's her sister's arrest that finally crushes her completely.
During the actualization scene : At that point, Maruki had no way of bringing back her parents or do anything about Kasumi's situation. The only thing he could try fixing was her inferiority complex and so he alters Sumire's cognition and memories to help her out of it.
I agree that I should've mentioned the parents death in that scene too.||

||About the cutscene of the accident:
I'm trying to keep the cutscene "lore friendly" with the mod. Of course, the scenery doesn't look exactly like the hometown, but it's still possible that some parts of the hometown look like that. I can't do anything about the animated cutscene anyway.
This scene happens as the two go home from practice (so late afternoon). Kasumi runs after Sumire, but looses track of her and so ends up going home late which makes her meet Shido (evening). It doesn't seem too far fetched for me.
(Those elements are mentioned at the start of the game, when Kasumi reminisce about "That day...").
Kasumi's behavior in this scene is because she's trying to stay strong for her sister's sake. She knows her sister's affected by their parents death, but she's oblivious to Sumire's self loathing. In the cutscene, she fails to show how she cares for Sumire as it looks insensitive, even patronizing.
However, it doesn't mean that Kasumi isn't affected by her parents death and Maruki brings back her parents for Sumire as much as for her. Kasumi is very conflicted after spending the day with her resuscitated parents on 01/01.

I don't know what else I can add to make it clearer.||

||About the ending:
Sumire moved to Tokyo to continue her training with a new coach. Kasumi moved to Tokyo for her probation.
Since her probation has ended, Kasumi returns to her hometown and Sumire wants to accompany her. However, Sumire is still training with the new coach, so she must return to Tokyo soon after. Kasumi's decision to take up gymnastics again is left to the player headcanon, with hints that she could train alongside Sumire with Hiraguchi as a coach. She can also decide that she's done with gymnastics and she moves on to something else, much like Joker.
The old coach, however, doesn't return as their coach. I don't really have an explanation for that. I guess it could be cultural (even cleared of the accusations, the suspicion remains and that would apply to Kasumi too). I think it makes more sense that Sumire continues training with the new coach anyway.

That seemed pretty clear to me. I've even seen people making their headcanon that she moves on from gymnastics.

Can't do anything about the final anime cutscene, so you can ignore it.||

She then visits her Phantom Thief Gang in Yongen for a Summer Vacation for a reunion, as the gang uses an RV Camping to travel and camp, while going to places like Sendai and others similar to Persona 5 Strikers lol||

||so thats what you were going for with that mourning cutscene. i gotta say though, that wasnt clear to me at all while playing. i remember simply being confused about what the point of it was afterwards, though i just brushed it off. i dont remember anyone making a big deal out of the parents death at any time, but i might be wrong. yes i suppose there are simply limits to what you can do because of the anime cutscenes. it all just seemed a little too far fetched to me, especially with maruki somehow being there in the hometown as well.
as for the ending, personally i dont see a scenario where the twins wouldnt stick together and train. you got a point about the old coach and the stigmatisation though, it does seem likely they would rather train under the new one.||

So here's what I now believe what happened to Joker. ||Thanks to Maruki's intervention the Trickster role was changed to Joker to Kasumi. Changing his and her fate. I would say that when Yablaboth won time had seemingly stopped. With Kasumi being executed by the twins maybe if given enough time he would.. restart the game. The Thieves are alive but have their memories erased. Maybe his pride is enough to try to ruin two humanities.. of course that's if she didn't rebel.. in which she did. And that's if God Of Control had time control. This is just my headcanon. So take it with a grain of salt. Now you're welcome to dismiss my God Of Control claim. But I believe that when Maruki made Kasumi cheat death.. he changed the players. That's something the real Igor didn't see coming.||

Kasumi essentially could have died twice in RV lore, whether it is though the accident or through yaldabaoth's game. A foreshadowing of the trickster's fate from the beginning of the game, no matter which path she takes could lead her to ruin.

Yeah. I think in this mod Kasumi has it more rough than Joker. Especially with Sumire. 15 years old and she is thrown into a dangerous world where every single shadow and ruler (except Futaba and Maruki.) Wants her dead. Not to mention the fact Kamoshida wanting to have a private "session" or "talk" with her mirroring Shiho. Not to mention what JohnnyBoy is saying using her own YOUNGER sister against her telling her to back the fuck off and to fall in line.
I can imagine the amount of mental and physical toll on Kasumi throughout the mod.. I can imagine maybe off screen maybe probably 1/2 she silently sobs. It's just all probably too much for her. Sure Joker is probably left confused but Kasumi? I don't think she can take it.. but that's just my theory and headcanon talking again.

After looking into, it looks like I can't make it work without editing the Restored Outfit Dialogues mod files directly. Moving files around doesn't work at all here.
I think I'll need to ask the mod author if it can be added into R&V.
