i was using a swap ||akechi|| and ren mod and i wanted to change the portrait because akechi which is switched to ren's portrait stays the same

To be clear, the mod does not include a dialogue portrait (bustup) change, and you would like to add that change in yourself? And presumably you have the alternate Ren portraits on hand that you'd like to use?
It probably makes the most sense for you to use Bustup Editor (or something like it) in this case: https://github.com/ShrineFox/BustupEditor
Following the existing instructions, you should be able to go in and replace the existing Akechi sprites with whatever you like. The hard part will be making sure you have all of the versions you want (for expressions and outfits), with blinks and mouth movements and all.
