When I played MQ for the first time, it was muscle memory of me after battles with “okay, battle is over, let me do some healing spells while not in battle to heal my party”
Then after seeing it dropped a lot, I was like “oh”

Well ig you can at least use Yukari for free heals at the tartarus entrance, Mitsuru doing anything presupposes taking her in your party
you never actively need to heal in battle and if you somehow do you have like 50 billion healing items in your inventory
Yukari's healing is generally outscaled by items too until endgame, she has no good support skills, a bad theurgia and the lowest damage output of any character by far
MQ she will do better on the damage front and her healing/theurgia are more useful now, so she might be a decent pick
for mid game she seems like she'll suck tho
but hopefully garudyne makes her decent

in p3 her kit is simpler with less things to it, but she fairs a lot better because her damage is actually competitive there and healing is just more essential

Thinking of it, a way to design Reload Yukari to be a little more like her past counterparts could be to boost the damage her mag and phys do and add a couple more support skills
It's funny that she doesn't get like a party heat-riser despite being kinda support-oriented with the heals and ailment cures

I guess in the end of the day the issue lies in her original kit not really being support oriented as much as it's heal-oriented

I think Yukari gets both but she gets Baisudi kinda late by default
Zorro learns Me Patra at level 24, and the recent update made Leanan Sidhe have it innate as well for those without dlc

You could, but I kinda wish the ailments were rebalanced on the enemy side of things. Battles consist of either
Enemy team: No aliment attacks
Or Enemy team: All aliment attacks with an aliment kill move
ive been enjoying not having to duplicate cards every day but now i'll be duping models

this isn't entirely true
some fear based enemies will ghastly wail you but there are other synergies in the game
empress/emperor will crit distressed players
the monads also make good use of ailments
the dice with infuriate that drain phys is a really good enemy
same for the one that repels phys
it's one of the better battles in the vanilla game
because it's a clever combo that the game sorely needed more of
if the game had more element weapons you could nullify the gimmick entirely and i think that's a really cool thing

i like the idea of the soft level cap but i do think some of the earlier enemies within blocks should have their levels raised at least somewhat so encounters aren't immediately net negative xp just cus they're lower level than the previous boss you fought
i end up fighting enemies cus i feel im supposed to because thats kinda the point of tartarus but then there isn't really much incentive besides shuffle time and half the time i just get abysmal dogshit skill cards 
i think its very adjustable but rn a lot of enemies feel kind of pointless
you're expected to metagame in mq and part of the metagame is knowing when it's worth to ignore combats

its just a suggestion to maybe adjust some enemy levels so that you can gain at least some xp or maybe a level or two before each boss so battles aren't literally pointless
nah characters genuinely join higher level than every shadow at the start of their block
even my party ended up higher level than the enemies were from the lovers battle
ngl I set it up for space savings and instant mp4s
aki is higher leveled than all arqa enemies until floor 37 and beyond, and even some after that
this one isn't too much of an issue because this is the point in the game where Yukari/Junpei actually have some catch up to do but its just an example
i'm not going to micromanage the levels of all 1000 shadows in the game
that's just absurd scope
i'm not suggesting you change all of them but i do think its something to at least look into

if you're fighting past cap, that is entirely on you
lower level enemies still serve catch up purpose if someone dies
well the cap is still the same regardless cus the final couple bosses are the only ways to make meaningful progress in xp, which was the case in vanilla reload

it's a purposeful design decision to make MQ centered around boss battles and being at a lower level than normal
if it makes tartarus filler as a side effect, it's not something I can be too bothered about

i feel like we play somewhat in an opposite manner. i end up fighting most enemies i come across then leave as soon as i beat the bosses, whereas you rush the bosses then grind the final floor til you're out of sp or bored

and certain persona cards if I'm grinding a persona like Archangel
that's probably how I'd do it

letting you crit every turn off the first round if you're lucky
shock relic round 1 > crit with whole team > relic recovers and identifies weaknesses > guard with everyone but Makoto and attack with him and the person who was most recently hit by relic > rinse and repeat the previous step until you win
that's a vanilla strat too
not a reliable one compared to before but it is a strat there

I think you need to understand what the word "trivialize" means
You understand how the enemy behaves and you made a build that counters it, while having your teammates act in a way that also counters it

Main reason why i Tarukaja'd him a couple times bc he's the one who's hitting the enemy most of the time

I usually Tarunda'd the Relic with Aki and Bewildered the enemy for Junpei
If Aki distressed the enemy I'd use Protag
I'd use Yukari but she barely got opportunities to crit
And even when she did the relic would dodge a bunch of her regular attacks

Aki was pretty decent but he was earlier in the cycle than Junpei and he was less resilient tbh
So sometimes i had to use a turn to heal him otherwise he prob wouldn't handle the heat
Whereas Junpei is:
- Last in the cycle
- Can help during the Marakunda phase
- Has good phys
I have way more chances to phys with Junpei than i do Aki esp when i had Aki handle Tarunda on the boss
But Aki could land distress with Sonic Punch and-wait you would just use bewilder instead…damnit

But that alone doesn't really do a whole lot of damage
I used both Aki and protag as means of Distressing the boss
Also idk if it was just me but trying to say, use a Sonic Punch on a distressed enemy seemed to not crit so I'd usually end up having to have Akihiko do regular attack which can be a little bit of a dice roll
Though he hits it fairly consistently so I can't complain
full assault mitsuru is a grief and a half

The only way I could see anyone running out of SP is if they have protag cast recarm multiple times in each fight
I had protag run low on SP at the very end of the fight but my whole party was fine on SP and i used no items inbetween Hierophant and Lovers

yea the main shit for me is like. not having a dedicated knock down or assign target command really fucks up my strats a lot of the time
Intimate knowledge of how theurgia works will be key for what tactics to pick at specific time
and also just the general silly decision making that the vanilla game tactics have like always spamming aoe skills despite single-target doing more damage

It’s mostly just bug fixes. Then again, a v1.0 of a hard mod tend to be a little rough around the edges if my personal experience is anything to go by

the formula is

Divided by party members
Multiplied by level difference
if an enemy drops 1000 xp, the game will always say 1000
even if you're level 1 or 99
and get 0, 1000, or 1 billion xp from it
hence why vanilla game does it too
So if you are all level 99 and an enemy is level 1 (just as example)
1000 XP
Divided by 4
Your share multiplied by 0 = 0xp
Party member 1 share multiplied by 0 = 0 xp
so on so forth
