full phys party also means no healer whereas full magic party gets yukari

the magic only is good is a nyx only thing
koromaru is kind of a hybrid character who is bad at both phys and ma
but he is supposed to be the backbone of a phys comp
so i think he could do with his phys being a little bit better
he'd still not be anywhere near the top attackers but it'd at least give him a leg up
like just cus if you're running koromaru, you're either sacrificing a much better damage dealer or your party's healer
which seems like a huge tradeoff given that bosses are more threatening now

you only get about 2 chances of seeing the weaknesses of Empress and Emperor before Fuuka's SP runs out

So I had to play the guessing game. Turns out ||she ended up being weak to Pierce before she died||

With the stuff Fuuka can offer you like full SP recovery it'd make things a tad easier

in an environment where item usage is mostly out of the fight, that SP Recover Mid-Fight can help a lot
It's easy to predict in vanilla, literally just pierce/elec then strike/ice then slash/fire

it's possible to manipulate a really easy shuffle time on floor 18 by saving and reloading every time you defeat a shadow
it's fine for yen
but then on the way back to the entrance you can also grind gold hands, which are level 7
i kinda miscalculated the xp cap it seems and it's possible to grind these for yukari to get media before priestess
not sure if this is problematic
the gold hands seem like more of an issue than the manip, since the hands are weak to bash, so the cup card farm manip can be done on them too
i really thought the cap locked yukari at 10 but i guess not
question is do i want to allow a really stubborn grinder to get media
fighting against grinding is a lost battle imo so im not sure this needs to be fixed
simplest fixes to this would be
- Removing slash weakness from cowardly maya
- Removing strike weakness from Wealth Hand
- Adding a second shadow to the manippable encounter on floor 18 so you can't get a shuffle with rush
- Lowering Wealth Hand's level to 6

im not sure but if you want to be safe remove the overleveled members from your party
@hollow trail If afflicted with confusion, party members are still able to use healing items such as life stones in combat. unsure if this would technically fall under AI tactics rules or not but it's something I just discovered while fighting the first Arqa gatekeeper

i kinda forgot about poison shit tbh cus i was using the toy bow on yukari
looked pretty good there though idk the inability to inflict distress kinda goes against the strat i had

okay i beat MQ Hierophant/Lovers with tactics and no items
the fights are pretty good, but Hierophant is a complete push over when it can't pull off its Ghastly Wail combo
You said you were gonna make me patra more accessible for the fight, so I just decided to back fuse it onto a High Pixie
fights went well, though at the end protag had barely any SP left because he had to use recarm like 4 times
Mitsuru was pretty good, way less of a liability than i'd assumed she'd be even without guarding
with just Tarunda, she can tank Maragion just fine, and with Tarunda + Rakukaja, she can tank the Agidyne as well
I wish i got to line up the freeze + hack n blast combo, but i never got it to happen lol

I fused that Take-Mikazuchi expecting to use it more, but I had protag on debuff/support duty basically the entire lovers fight, so I only really got to use it on Hierophant
Yeah, I’d say it’s a 50/50 chance of either it being a easy walk or an absolute hell of a boss to beat. I haven’t fought it yet on MQ, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be the same as my previous experiences of
If lands gimmick = Hard mode
If it doesn’t land gimmick = Easy mode

you could def do it with aki but it'd be slower
unless you grind to get orthrus matarukaja or you're using matarukaja items
aki might be faster with that just cus of buff boost
he seems like a safer pick whereas mitsuru is better for killing quicker and enabling junpei

but half the time the boss did agidyne on mc
