my uneducated guess is just some other mod was letting them access the rooftop when they shouldn't be able to when the hideout is set to accessway, so it wasnt playing the right anims (or something to that effect)
im just surprised they even got up there
yeah i warped to the end of the palace and checked on the next day before sending the card
rooftop is locked
they said they spoke to ryuji and got teleported there, maybe something that edits dialogue or events messed up? very strange

That took me waaaay more time than I dare to admit, but here's the fixed GAP for the Maruki event (it was animation 2). I looked into the json since the print from cri wasn't telling me at all what animation was being played. I tested it and it works

I've encountered a bug during a part of the ||holy grail|| fight where the mod causes the game to endlessly load
which part of the grail fight?
oh I've heard of that one, it's caused by the story overhaul
it happens after the first part of the first grail fight in the depths
I’ll try disabling that
That's usually what I do, so I'm sure that'll fix it
Make sure to disable any patches that are addons to that mod too like the CBT patch for example

I'm currently playtesting the aftermath of the interrogation, when the game bombards you flashbacks to explain everything. In particular, there's only one event in the game where Futaba, Morgana and Joker discuss wiretapping Akechi's phone, so you can only get one screenshot here...
Unless you think a bit outside the box! There are other events in the game with those three characters, and one in particular where Futaba sleeps. I also had to edit the animation just for it.
@kindred comet I made them for my story overhaul, so I might as well do them for the main mod too. Here you go!

So, I fixed a whole bunch of sitting animations during the reunion at Leblanc after Sae saves the protag. It is split in many, many events, but I managed to find them all

Changelog:
- Fixed Sumi's sword incorrectly appearing/disappearing, added ultimate weapon (the trail is buggy)
- More event anim fixes, including fixes for grail, yaldabaoth (before satanael cutscene), gardening, velvet execution, Maruki rank 10, and a minor anim fix when drinking coffee during Haru's SL
- Added some new flashbacks (ty Zyvlos!) and edited various ones to reflect her correct casual winter outfit

Those ones shouldn't be using Joker's anyway since the CBT patch just moves CBT Sumire's costumes to Joker slot 1
So if all else fails try completely deleting protag sumi and reinstalling the latest test build

thankfully the will animation camera is perfect and completely hides that

I haven't looked into this or anything, but I presume that the name length is pretty hardcoded into the game and would cause a lot of issues if it was tried to be modified or? I can see text lines being affected most likely and pushing words out of text boxes accidentally, but I'm not sure whether it would have any other impact if that were tried?
not sure if its hardcoded but it would probably cause some issues with text overflowing out of dialogue boxes in some cases
this took me a while and its not perfect but i think its good enough and a major improvement over it floating rly high above her hand

I just met Takemi for the first time and it immediately jumped to her first rankup for some reason? I have the story overhaul for Kasumi, I bet that's the reason but thought I'd throw in here just in case! I doubt it's the model changes and stuff I would assume because that wouldn't change around the timings of events or?
there aren't any event or flowscript edits included with this mod so its a different mod thats causing that
Also, I used Cheat Engine and tables to manually add an a to the end of the last name, thus I now have Yoshizawa as my last name! So far so good, but I'm sure I'll run into some text box issues at some point. Looks like in the addresses for the names, they left space between last and first names enough for 2 extra characters before you would overwrite the first name.

It's the story overhaul again. Some files for Takemi and Haru have compiling issues. I made a fix for those files on their discord. Let me see if I can transfer them here

Fine by me! I also replaced the default sitting animation (animation 0 in the GAP) since it wasn't properly positioned too
I'd rather make a separate thread, or else it's going make Wisteria's job much harder if they can't find messages relevant to the models or the animations. I'll make the thread at some point, but not right now. It gives me more space to work without worrying about answering questions or suggestions.
At any rate, helping Wisteria with fixing the animations is also helping my mod be a better experience. Fixing those sitting animations is actually easy so that's how I try to contribute.

Did a vanilla 'Sumi edit of the bustups from Zylvos' Alternate Models mod with the author's blessing. To use them, just extract the files into p5rpc.kasumiasprotag\Characters\Joker\1\FONT\SELECT.

progress update on this: I didn't actually do much editing today but I did retarget jokers jacket physics for sumi's jacket and also baked some skirt animations
and I just deleted the physics chunk from the cutscene this model uses (it's cutscene only tmk so it shouldn't affect anything else) since physics break here
that being said I'm not sure how to address scenarios where the player has a costume on
I would like to force it to use the phantom suit cutscene model but I'm not sure if that would work with cbt

for anyone curious the model is C0001_206_04.GMD, if you want you can replace it but i recommend nuking any physics chunks (or tweaking them) so her hair doesnt go flying up

Tried swapping the mask texture on the menus. Violet's mask is a fair bit bigger than Joker's so its not perfect (the bottom of the texture clips somewhat and the one used when viewing a persona is squished to fit on the texture file) but its something.

PersonaSpriteTools is a quick and easy way to extract the DDS and spdspr files needed for SPD emulator. I would recommend using it but note that DDS files seem to extract with mipmaps so you may have to re-export the DDS to get rid of them. It's not super noticeable but in some cases the textures will be lower res due to mips
This does mean EPIC party panel should be compatible now, although protag Sumi will still use her vanilla sprite
Heyo! Not sure if this would be possible or not, but could the models for Jokers mask when fusing personas, taking it off right before the Shido fight, and then when it dissapears in the final Maruki fist fight, be replaced with Sumis?
Well, that's it : I have no choice but to edit the white of the eyes in my models. Kasumi's eyes have a different shape so it's not working too well here in cutscenes

It's not hard, but you need to use the right tools to do it or you'll get bugs/softlocks/crashes. BMDs can be edited by decompiling them with AtlusScriptCompiler, editing the msg file and recompiling with the same tool
The only reliable way to edit BF files without risking a compilation error is PersonaEditor

I thiiink Kasumi's awakening one might be okay staying the same, I'll rewatch to be sure, but the protagonist awakening would probably warrant different lines

If you want to get comfortable with, try decompiling a BMD (with the help of the guide) and looking at the msg. It's much more understandable than what PersonaEditor shows

Yeah, it's the annoying part of editing BF files. Usually, BF are used in events where you can control the character, like field dialogs or dialogs during battle. I don't think you can try them with the mod menu. You can try the events (= BMDs) with it though

merging is used for compatibility reasons, it's good practice to use it
besides, it's easier bc you skip a step (recompiling) and it's easier to make edits
there's only a few cases where I would actively not use merging if it was available

for an overhaul mod it's not as bad but it does kill compatibility with a lot of (potential) mods. if any mods that use merging edit the same files as your mod, those mods will always take priority regardless of order

yeah I wouldn't worry so much about the she/her mod as I think these two mods would be inherently incompatible, I'd be worrying about say, a utility mod that happens to edit some story events for whatever reason

Is anyone else finding that the SpdDisassembler from Persona Sprite Tools is dumping the full texture sheets instead of cutting them up into sprites?
Normally I'd edit the texture sheets directly, but I wanna make it compatible with SPD emulator.

Remade the Metaverse cutin with a slightly more neutral expression. The only real difference is the mouth, which is a bit less pouty. Haven't tested it in-game yet, but I'll do that tomorrow.

audio gets their initial volume from the sound categories they're set, but you can override it with a yaml config

i mean if the in-game volume is different then your file's volume then it clearly is inheriting the volume

On a related note, this might be an old issue, but I noticed that the SYSTEM.ACB sfx goes quiet after the protagonist (or one of their personas) levels up.

Oh this is super great actually! I tried making one a few days ago but couldn't get it to look good, and it was just an edit of her gymwear anyway
I did want her to have properly functioning shoes/socks
but couldnt get it to work
I'll add that one to the main mod though since it looks much much nicer than her gymwear
So far, the only funky anims I can think of are:
- entering the Velvet Room (notably in the Metaverse) uses Joker's walking anim
- pressing a button (used in palaces)
(and personally I think she squats a bit too low when opening doors in the metaverse, but that's just me nitpicking)

The door anim was a bit of a compromise, I wasn't sure how to fully make it fit her so I just had it transition from and to her idle and baked physics

I tried using Rumi's body at first, but the animations were not working great and I don't really know how to fix that. I ended up using the prisoner torso that I recolored.
For the socks, I used the summer uniform body part, but I renamed its prefix to "1" so it isn't hidden by default

Kasumi's eye shape is actually a bit different, so I just import the face of a model and parent it to the body

torso mesh has no weights for foretwist1/foretwist2
and spine2 weights are missing too
transferring those weights should fix it
or you could just manually weight paint them

also the pants mesh is missing thightwist weights
but it shouldnt(?) cause too many issues
Well, I'm not too experienced with blender, so I didn't think about checking that. Looking at the Rumi model, she doesn't have those weights so that's why they are missing
you can use kawakami's version of this. Since it's visually the same iirc.

Yeah, I think it works. Does it still clip during some of the animations? Like 46, 49, 50, etc.
She doesn't move a lot during the events with this model, so If it still clips, I think that's fine
46 doesn't seem to exist here. And it only clips in the anticipation of 49. 50 seems to be fine.

I know the female Joker mod uses a towel, but I'm not sure if this asset is in the game or if it's a custom one. I'll try to think of something

femc mod just replaces the male models with female ones with bathrobes so it wouldnt be any complex editing

This loading sprite cuts off a bit.~~ I'm using a custom one for my model mod, but it should also happen with the regular one~~ Mine has some issues too
So, it's the one in NOWLOADING2.SPD. I've tried replacing it with the one in NOWLOADING3.SPD, which doesn't have a cutoff and it cuts even more
My bad they're not supposed to be the same size in those two spds

So I found it on a vanilla Persona 5 playthrough. Either they removed it with Royal, or the game loads too fast on PC
