#"Failed to obtain port for the Reloaded instance running inside inside the process," when launching.

What's strangest, to me anyway, is that I wasn't experiencing this issue a few weeks ago when I last booted up P3P. Nothing relating to P3P as it exists on my computer has changed in that time since. It's still in the same location, and it, to my knowledge, hasn't received any updates. A few mods and Reloaded II have, but. Anyway, rambling aside.

So, when I go to launch P3P, this is the result I've been getting tonight, each time, without fail. As suggested by the error message, I've closed the error and waited a few seconds before trying again, I've double checked for other instances running through my task manager, and I even rebooted my pc. Yes, Persona Essentials is also at the top of my load order, and I've even toggled some mods off and on to see if there's a problem on that front. None of these methods have fixed the issue.

Additionally, there's this other error I get, which I've also attached a screenshot for — something about an arithmetic overflow. From some light perusing both in the console and from some brief googling, this seems more in relation to still having 32-bit P4G. Yes, I haven't updated it, because I want everything I've been using to be updated to the 64-bit version first before I go and make that leap. But, I don't see how that relates to P3P, which, on pc, is only available as a 64-bit executable. Still, figure it's worth mentioning anyway.

Any help on this would be hugely appreciated, please and thanks in advance.

Hi there!

:warning: While you wait for a response, please check the following to ensure your post isn't deleted by staff:

:one: Make sure you're in the right forum!

  • "modder-help" is for help making mods
  • "user-help" for help using mods.
If your issue isn't about modding, take it to the Steam forums, Reddit etc. please!

:two: Make sure you've searched thoroughly to see if your question has been asked before. Nobody enjoys repeating themselves! :mag:

:three: Summarise your issue as clearly as possible in the post title and assign any/all relevant tags so people can see exactly what your post is about without needing to open it.
Vague titles like "I need help" or "Reloaded error" are not sufficient! :label:

:four: If your post is related to a specific mod or guide you're following, share a link to it! Don't just assume everyone knows what you're referring to! :link:

:five: If you're seeing any error messages, include screenshots and/or logs so people can check them out without needing to ask! :notepad_spiral:

:six: Tell us how you've tried to figure out the problem yourself. People are much more likely to help if you appear to have tried your best before creating a post! :technologist:

:white_check_mark: Troubleshooting Tips! :white_check_mark:

  • "I'm getting unexpected behaviour when playing with mods!"
If the problem only occurs with mods enabled (double-check this!), then it's likely caused by a bug in one of the mods you have installed. Try disabling each of your mods one by one, launching the game and testing as you go to narrow down the problem mod. Once identified, report the issue to the author so they can fix it!

  • "My problem relates to the 'Community Enhancement Pack' / 'HD Overhaul Project' / 'TrueHD'!"

Noted. It says it still needs to update on Steam, and I had set it only to update if I launched it through steam well before the update rolled out, but I'll look into it regardless.
That said, I went ahead and added Reloaded's folder to my exceptions in Windows Security, but, I'm still having the issue after giving it another go.

So any other idea on what to do about this?

The thing is that I don't have antivirus installed on my pc, I just use Windows Security or w/e it's called.

#

Ah, AMD does com packaged with one of those weird booster software.

#

Oh, it's not P4G32 I'm having the issue with, though, is the thing. I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

#

It's P3P that I'm trying to get working.

Update: Managed to fix it myself. As it turns out, it seems like it had something to do with an outdated version of Inaba Patcher. Deleted it and had Reloaded II reacquire a fresh install of it, which solved the issue. Mods work like a charm now.
