#Looking for some help with a Fire/Wither spell repertoire (1.21.1)

Hey all! Im quite new to Ars and im in the endgame spell crafting phase where i just wanna make some cool spells that /dont/ heal my enemies (heal frame skip doesnt work anymore apparently lmao)

Considering Iframe skips seem impossible in this version, im trying to optimize some spells to fit the vibe of Fire magic + Wither magic

Currently we have Ars Nouveau, Ars Elemental, Not Enough Glyphs

My current go to spell is:
Homing Projectile -> Hex -> Harm -> Amp -> Conflagrate -> Amp -> Flare -> Amp -> Wither -> Item Pickup

Ive been told this doesnt really do much considering the iframe skip? I've tried to make some of the classic Wall + Promogate homing projectiles for maximum calamity but they dont seem to work!

just any advice on how to make damaging spells that dont suck

Also! the gear im using:
Ars Elemental Fire Gear (Pyromaniacs) with Kindling 3
Focus of Necromancy (Can swap to focus of Fire)

One simple way to deal with iframes is to just add some delays in between damage components. So ignite->flare->delay->conflagrate, for example, would hit with both the flare and the conflagrate

What pack is this? Or if it's a custom one, what all addons u got?

its just a custom modpack! and the addons we have are just Ars Elemental and Not Enough Glyphs (though i think we might add ars additions soon?)

Welp. That pretty much means that Damage delay Damage of whatever kind of Damage you prefer is going to be your weapon of choice

the goal is to have like a "calamity magic" vibe where its like,,,, wither-fire

even if i have to shoehorn a wither glyph in a standard fire spell for the vibe i'd be happy lmao

I have a spell I'm rather fond of. Not the most damage, but imo it looks cool and is functional enough for my needs. I shoehorned in the wither for you, wear a thread of kindling (and ofc stuff like pyromancer armor and fire focus). You could drop a randomize for a less constant stream of projectiles in order to get a flare, which wouldn't increase damage but would increase the amount of fire carnage

here's the code, just copy this and paste it into your spellbook (hopefully it'll work, sometimes the copy/paste functionality has broken from older to newer version I've noticed). Modify it to your hearts content, of course! Happy to answer questions about how it works, in case it's unclear

and here's the version on steroids. Look up into the sky, cast, then look at your target. Warnings that there's the potential for lag problems with all the lingers and projectile propagations it creates, definitely do not cast multiple times in a row. But this version also lets you get that flare in for extra extra fire everywhere (i actually hate flare because of the magefire)
