A block like false-weave (no hitbox), but that can be placed on top of another block, the block can be interacted with as normal, however unless using magic sense it appears to be the block that the false-weave is set to.
Useful for hiding ugly automation blocks or chests, or even doors (looks like a wall, but you can right click to open).

so mirrorweave?
no, mirrorweave has a hitbox and cant be placed in blocks
I mean, say you have a platform
this would cover it, and you can give it a custom model, but the block is still a platform, has the same hitbox as a platform, and does everything a platform does, just has an overlay of a different blocks texture
aka it disguises the block as another
mirrorweave is just mirroweave disguesed as another
o so mirrorweave but the block still works?
Seems a bit too niche imo. Hiding stuff can just be done setting the blocks you want hidden one slot back
Also some weirdness with placing this alter-mirroweave ontop of another full block
If both blocks are rendered, you will get z-clipping where the textures bleed into each other
And if you break, which one breaks if they share an overlapped hitbox?
Only the mirror weave renders, both break, dispel removes the cover without removing the block
How would you select the cover appearance? say you wanted to hide a hopper around a spruce themed cave, like would it grab surround blocks, or do you right click it with a block to take on that appearance, and if so, does it consume the block?
Right click, not consume. Base would be some purple texture like the other blocks
well, probably shift right click to prevent interference if accidently clicking it, but anyhow, I do like this idea, would be nice for certain mods if the block didn't fit the build theme, or if you wanted to secretely hide a trapped chest
Yeah
I was excited for mirror weave because I thought I could use it as a facade for things like pipez mod but alas it didn't work.
Oh I like this. I like this a lot
