Found the culprit to the screen flashing/system ultimately crashing:
I was using the Qualcomm quest 3 gpu drivers. Which is strange as I’ve never seen such a thing happen to the 865 or g3xg2 (RP5, Flip2, DMG)

I did an arcade playthrough of VF5 on RPCSX. Default and Turnip had no issues, but Qualcomm (819.2v1) almost immediately started glitching out

But the Eden suggestion removes the guesswork there.

I remember for the Flip 2 it needed a slightly older Mr Purple driver that was specifically tuned for the 865.

Yup, already finished the main playthrough on Switch 2, but I also ended up dumping the game for S1 to try out a 2nd playthrough on modded switch (mainly to use the Mega’s I like earlier in the game). If it runs well enough on Eden though I’d definitely prefer to try that.

In the Edens Veil setting you need to turn the Extended Dynamic State setting off or it won't render anything. I'm using Mr purple drivers and also turned on Use Fast GPU Time to keep it running at a better resolution because the dynamic res seems pretty aggressive in this game

Well, it could either be what I’m thinking of (an issue where it just didn’t seem to work well with booting into the game from Brilliant Diamond’s title screen in general, this was pretty much the default experience in Android-10 versions of Yuzu). Or it could just be an issue with the settings or driver.

So now that I’m thinking about it, before we do the first suggestion, it would be better to just figure out if it’s the drivers.

For anyone buying an AYN Thor, I highly recommend you do some EQ tweaking on the device, it's pretty bad without it.

Yeah, I commented about that a couple days ago. Built-in Equalizer controls was one of the things AYANEO already does that I was really hoping Ayn would implement into their own devices “Odin/Thor Settings”, since now we’re just gonna have to rely on setting up a rootless variant that auto-boots (and if not that then we’d have to be enabling it every time).

• insane for Switch games, I 100% do not want to touch my 'real hardware' ever again
• hinge is actually a bit annoying in the sense that the second locked position isn't as flat as I would like while the 180 degree position is too extreme
• sticks are really nice, I've been finding myself use the left stick even for dpad games in GBA and NDS
• grip is fine but it's not that insane of an ergonomics upgrade for people with tiny hands, I find both to be perfectly playable for me even for extended periods of time
• upscaling on NDS games is great, I've been running x8 Platinum with no issues and it looks fantastic

I think some people need a little perspective. The white was the lowest ordered colour so if you send out say 100 units then that number will go up a lot more than if you did the same with Black Max. old DS screens were resistive so all they needed was pressure. these screens are built for fingers so I don't think conductive tips can be quite as fine.
I've found some with smaller than average tips but the tradeoff is that they're rarely available in thin/short styli. All the little ones seem to have fat nubs. Got one more coming today though

Technically its a threat in response to recent export controls from china. There is a good chance they dont actually happen tho. They exist to get china back to negotiate on the export controls. If they agree to come to the table the tarrifs will likely be put on hold.

• some games i have to do on my swoled ... case they are pain to emulate on both x86/arm (for example Mario Rabbids)

• some game i do onandroid emu .. as they run absolut ass on actual switch and for better battery and better framerates ( for example ost of switch pokemons)

• some games i have do do on x86 (LegionGo or big screen PC) and mod them hard cause they just look and run better ( for example Platinum stuff)
