Yup. It’s a good bit deeper than the DS Lite, but it’s barely wider. That’s not too bad. Realistically all it’ll do is make things easier for those of us who played on the DS Lite as kids. Now we can play on a device roughly the same width, but with a deeper profile to account for hands growing

I’m not really concerned about my pockets then. I have a 13 mini so my phone is pretty small by today’s standards. I already have to carry a standard size IPhone for work too. The concept of carrying two devices in my pocket isn’t new

In width, the Flip 2 isn’t that far off from the DS Lite

The only measurement that kinda is a downer is it being taller, but that can probably be chalked up to Active Cooling

I think there are definitely two camps of people in the retro handheld sphere: People who think modern games are better but want something small and portable (and therefore want to emulate as modern as possible so they go nuts for things like CEMU coming to android) and people who are retro gamers primarily (even at home) and just want better hardware for that (I'm in the latter camp so other than saturn the t618 already did everything I needed power wise, I just want better screens/controls/firmware support)

basically cyberpunk2077 and elden ring are the two most demanding titles in my library, they run ok on APUs now, and I don't have any desire to add any games more demanding than those to my backlog - if your game doesn't run well on the ally X you can keep it.
