#Retroid Pocket Flip 2 (Cows Ascended)
1 messages · Page 16 of 1
I played my n3DSXL a lot over the weekend because it's really the only clamshell i've ever been able to use. I'm not excited enough to preorder a flip2
Ah well ... this whole thing did cement me into the "not preordering the Flip 2" category where I was tempted before ... even though I don't technically "need" the Flip 2. Whether I ever get one is going to depend on Retroid's response to my secondhand Mini.
This is where I’ve been at ^^
I can see a flip2 in my future... but I'm just not in any kind of hurry
Yeah, although you probably should also ask the person you bought it from for the order number, so that you can give it to them and just explain the situation to change where the shipment would go to.
and for the retro...wow those are some ugly colors 😆
Just to prove that it was bought from Retroid initially by a proper customer, and it wasn’t just an AliExpress reseller that could’ve gotten it from the factory.
What's the saying ... "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time."
I’m waiting a month or two then I’ll go for it
That’s the issue, they were already showing who they were as a “company that can fuck up occasionally, but will make up for it when it’s discovered” the first time around, and this situation was the second time and unironically unique to the Mini.
I do put deception in a different category than manufacturing errors.
Eh, a lot of people left and said fuck retroid after the 3/3+ to this day
They kinda depend on their reputation being a small company
Probably fair. I wasn't paying much attention to Retroid before the 3+ came out.
I’ve been putting those in the same category since AYANEO lied about the issues with the 2S being “normal issues for review units, it will totally be fixed for consumers” only for consumers to get the same issues with the screen reaching scaling temperatures.
I noticed them in the middle of this debacle, and my interactions with their support (over the last 2 weeks during the middle of this mess) on unrelated issues have been exceptional.
ah fun times 😄
So I feel like giving them a little time to settle after a release before buying a flip2, and then I can go in knowing what's going on, and they'll take pretty good care of me if I have a problem
And then just when I was about to separate them again, we had the Cube situation where Anbernic lied about fixing the light bleed manufacturing issues for consumer units, and dragged out support for some of us (including me).
My takeaway is, if there's any issue and you're still in the 15 day return window just return it.
Don't have faith that they can fix any issue you have.
And as far as I can tell, there is not really anyone else in the mid-range market segment... Ambernic sorta has a couple
They lost their "trust me bro" card with the Mini.
Problem with that is the $50 shipping back to china
This is unironically why some people just pay more through Amazon for some of these devices... might actually save them money on balance.
Welp, they mentioned rp6 with gaming snapdragon soc. So screw this flip2 lmao
Yup. Like I said, they get the MagicX treatment in that I’m willing to trust that they’ll try to make handhelds good, but I’m absolutely not trusting them enough to actually buy them in the first place until a reviewer and a dev confirm they’re good.
Yeah, fair. For anyone that does end up pre-ordering though maybe just bite the bullet and get most of your money back at least.
Wait, did they say they’re doing an RP6?
the only thing that makes me hurry that i worried if this gonna be discontinued like the original flip
My worry was that retroid would actually go under..but they appear to be a bit more solid than I thought at first 😆
If it gets discontinued that fast, it has serious issues and you wouldn't want it anyway.
All I saw in the Qualcomm announcement was the RP Classic for Retroid stuff, and then everything else was (hilariously enough) mostly AYANEO.
Exactly.
Well, not necessarily. If pre-order numbers for the Flip 2 are lower than the Flip 1 they might just judge the form factor not worth it.
Even if it's completely unrelated to actual interest.
The suits aren't going to see it as people being cautious because of the Mini debacle because suits be suits.
This makes it easier for me to turn down the flip2 now
Flip 3 when?
The RP5 is, what? 2 months old? Maybe a 6 Q4 I'm guessing.....
Ah, then yeah, same here. Still tempted by the classic, but holy shit I’d be willing to wait for that or a Flip 3 instead of getting the Flip 2.
classic is an easy yes for me
Like, that G2 Gen 2 unironically sounds really freaking good.
well easy for me to wait cause i already have the rp5 lol
Same.
Yeah, anyone with an RP5 already the Flip 2 is a tough sell regardless of the RP6 in the future, ahaha.
Unless you manage to sell off your RP5 so the Flip 2 is just a few dollars.
I'll be the Flip 2 sacrifice so they know there's interest for a future Flip 3 🙏
Still getting the Flip 2 more than likely as I don't have a Retroid device yet, and it's good enough for my needs
Yes I’m still getting it bc I don’t have a handheld at all
Barring any significant defects I think the flip 2 will be better than the rp5
Not pre-ordering waiting for review. You never know
Not like you won't have to wait anyway even if you order immediately.
It seems harder, but worth it
That’s a nice way to start off
I can't wait for my new 5 to show up tomorrow.. probably take me all day to get it setup again but still excited
and who knows if i'll actually manage to get a screen protector on there as well as I did on the last one 😆
I already have a handheld, but... It's an R36S lol
Not bad by any means given it was 30 bucks, but I definitely want more
every time I get a new one I think it's great. Then another new one shows up.....
The TSP was amazing... then a RP5 showed up. That's it. I'm done buying them for a while... I got rid of 3 last week, hopefully 3 more this week...
I'm keeping my brick for 4:3, rp5 for most everything else, and rp-mini because..well I'm a spineless consumer dazzled by ohhh shiny!
If it's g2 gen2 it's like 8 gen 2 or dimensity 9200 which it's high
But the problem is how this is going to work tho
Everyone’s saying the Retroid world is burning tho🥲
Yes they f’d up
Of course they fucked up
That stain on their vest is gonna be difficult to wash out
They have to be consistent and communicate with us not being half and half
thinking that rp6 has been planned i wonder how's anbernic cookin
I know. I’m a Bungie Halo fan who dealt with 343. I know what it feels like to have a company burn you
I’m more so commenting on how the device I decide to get is right when a bomb goes off in the company
Since anbernic is not on qualcomm list this is making wonder if they are waiting for unisoc to bring higher chip or maybe waiting for Dimensity
I think anbernic retired and is living on a tropical island somewhere sipping mojitos
Oh shit you’re right, they weren’t mentioned anywhere on that page.
Yeah so Idk if they are not ready to show the device or it was fake rumors
so reguarding the flip 2 how do we think the shell will hold up?
Like the hinge?
It should be better, it's pretty long so the stress is spread out better.
Should be better
I wish they used laptop style hinges instead though.
These single point ratcheting hinges are always kind of sketchy to me.
no the shell like the plastic
Oh...should be no worse than all their other shells unless they decide to use a different material for some reason.
after all how useful will a metal hinge be if the plastic housing cracks easily?
It's more that it's a longer hinge that'll spread the stress/force out better.
They can also just make the shell housing thicker around the hinge too.
And if the hinge itself requires less force to start rotation that'd help as well.
That's not to say that they've done all this of course. The only confirmed thing is the hinge is longer.
And that they're totally testing it with 100,000 hinge flips.
Totally, Trust Me Bro™
Duo hinge 👍
Basically what most lenovos use as well
I'd suggest to wait for reviews before ordering, i'm going ham on that hinge 🤣
wondering how come FLIP2 model didn't get New Qualcomm G2 Gen 2 SOC chip in it
They need to get rid of their stock of older chips, ahaha.
Because it’s flip 2 and not 3
Basically grabbing people who didn't get an RP5 or people who are going to double dip with a different form factor.
then FLIP3 should get G3 Gen 3
Nah that chipset will only be used by aya and ayn
Retroid stays middle range
D1100 makes sense now 😄
This one won't be available to purchase until April, and we may not see review units for it
I recommend if you're getting a Flip 2, get the 865 for all the compatibility goodness and potential for linux 🔥
D1100 might have a little better power efficiency, and if you love the 4 Pro and its performance, this might also make sense
D1100 is good if you want to waste less time on handhelds
(cause it just doesnt have as much support as snapdragon, so you have less to play with )
This is why I have an apple phone. I need it to work, I don't want to be able to f around with it. That's what all the rest of this stuff is for 😆
I'm sure the D1100 will be a decent deal come christmas sales or something, but 30$ less really doesn't feel worth it
If only it had G2 Gen 2, Just double checked
its Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 without modem I guess
which is almost as 8 Gen 2 in AYN Odin 2
after careful consideration I decided I will be doing the responsible, sensible adult thing this time
and preorder the minute orders open like a madman
stockholm syndrome is potent 😄
i tried using my pocket air over the weekend (D1200), and it just cant do anything outside the basic stuff. i've come to appreciate winlator on the rp5, and the pocket air just cant do anything with it
not to mention secret console
I have decided that I will wait until my back account recovers from the fsckery that I've inflicted on it over the last 5 months.... So maybe I'll get a Flip3 or Pocket6 😆 I should be more than happy with what I have, Win4-370, Pocket5, PocketMini, Brick.
There's really nothing I can't do..in style..with that hardware list
Current status
"eet moar Anbernic"
Bro why are people saying it’s green, it’s not fookin’ green
Compare it to the 3+/4 Ice Blue and the 2S Jungle Green
I’ve just seen it a bunch and I’m like bruv lmfao
It looks like a blueish green or greenish blue to me 😆
It def has a lil’ green in it, but calling it green is like come on bro
I'm sure people will figure it out though lol
It's like a teal color of sorts, Idk how to describe it
Bleen, Grue
Eggcellent
i think it's gleeish brue
ouch 😛
that smells expensive lol
aren't those gaming snapdragon chips finicky
like not as well optimized due to niche
They're only not optimized until they are
I dont want us to still be using 865 in 2030 just because it's all figured out. Heh
Eventually devs will have to crack the new G chips. Cause that seems to be where everyone is going
They might also be getting sweet deals on em if Qualcomm is trying to speed up adoption
Clearly they've sunk some R&D into them
100% this those chips are on like the 3 family iteration and adoption rates are near zero
This new chip has a 4nm node which is really promising for battery life
Whoops thought this was the Classic chat
This is the anything chat
I mean, if it's all figured out to the point where they can reliably run Switch or something why not? Ahaha
At this point I'd only get higher specced things once Winlator (or something more native 🤞) becomes available for them.
So ultimately...even after RP6 is out just wait.
Battery life would still be a factor
Depends on the upcost and usage I guess.
If you're often using a device until it's near dead then yeah, battery life is appealing.
But if the price is appealing and Linux is there day 1 👀
(Or Winlator breakthrough or ARM SteamOS)
I'm personally lukewarm at present, but that wasn't really an option.
Hard to still be excited after everything that's happened, I still want to be excited, but the concern holds it at bay. So lukewarm it is
Excited about the hardware
Cautious about the company
do i get a flip2 just cause the dpad is on the bottom?
Buttons too
Perfect fps clam shell
For sure. But I'd rather get stuff with some future proofing for stuff we can hopefully emulate ahead..etc.
I think we're a long long way off from anything else to be honest.
That said, we're definitely in a weird inbetween era of handheld power right now.
I mean 865 ain't great for Wii U, Switch and PS3
Wii u fits the niche
And there's active work in those areas
Yeah. Like there's stuff out now that 865 can't handle. So it's not like we've hit the end of the road
Dev only gets ironed out when theres sufficient capable hardware at hand
Well, if we're looking at ARM/Android emulation we already have high end hardware for development to happen on.
It's very much a software cap right now.
If you guys have seen the Qualcomm announcement about retroid we already know the next chip they're going to use
And it's significantly better than Snapdragon 865
Yeah. And devs need units to develop that software on. And you need enough devs to actually try it. Or someone to get fanatical enough about it
There's a price point hardware needs to hit before there's enough impetus or interest to really tighten things up
We don't really know anything about it since the g2 gen 1 was not in anyone 's hand, and comparison is probably made to it
Yeah. We're discussing whether they should just stick to 865 forever because it works right now
G2 gen 1 is like overclocked sd865 so it's will g2 gen2 which it's bit worse than 8 gen 2
Well, not forever, but yeah, ahaha.
I mean 2030 in tech terms is like forever away. Heh
True enough.
Where is this info for g2 gen 1 being similar to overclocked sd865 from?
But yeah. I imagine devs will unlock g series potential as more parties get involved. That said I think 865 is perfectly fine for flip 2
^
Personally the performance mark that I desire is one step above Snapdragon 865. I want to easily be able to 2.5x or 3x PS2 and Wii and GameCube across 90% of the game titles and not have the fans whirling like crazy trying to keep up. Some indie switch titles would be nice too. This generation of Snapdragon 865 is like almost enough but not quite.
I wonder how the 8G2Gen2 fares against the 8Gen2
it's still a huge increase over the flip 1
It's smart for Retroid not to put all their new releases in the G series basket
and the price of the G2 SoC would make it less appealing for buyers
maybe they could make a "flip 2 MAX" or something later on?
From my brain 🧠
I dunno. I still think Qualcomm is giving heavy discounts to get it rolling
But also G3x gen 1 is basically overclocked 888+
They obviously made some kind of push with all the G based lineups on the horizon
Because if the RP6 pricing gets too close to the Odin 2 or something and the performance:price isn't as good they run into the "Why not just an Odin 2" situation again.
I always just imagine Qualcomm is the bougie expensive SoC maker in the grand scheme
G1 gen 1 is like 720g level
I think they've started having to diversify. Some of their midrange chips now are pretty awesome
I think the next generation of retroid devices won't see a huge increase in price. It'll either be similar price or slightly higher but probably $250 max, with a huge performance increase
And it will have OLED screen
The RP6 will be around the RP5 was at launch. Mark my words.
I can speak for the 6 gen 1, it's a solid SoC for my phone
Also g series if you see the ayaneo devices and razer edge they have G series that overclocked or equivalent to original chip
Yeah. Which makes sense now that Apple and Google are putting out their own stuff (not that Qualcomm doesn't have hands in that as well)
I should probably test gamecube emulation on my phone to see how it handles that
Does Flip 2 look comfortable for GBA
Define comfortable
Define define
if it's anything around how the X18S was for me, it'll be perfect for long sessions
Haha. Just meant like physically? Performance? Screen resolution? Etc.
Yup, I can find details for g3x gen 1 and g3x gen 2, simply because they got into people hands. Zero info for the g1 gen 1 and g2 gen 1 other than those useless model numbers from qualcomm
We know for sure it'll be less performant than an 8 Gen 2, and more performant than a Snapdragon 865, anything other than that is just speculation
Idk I'm a one game Andy and I haven't found anything else come close to the comfort and retro feel of rg35xxsp for goodboy galaxy on gba. The flip kinda looks like a good way to play goodboy galaxy on a super screen
For physical comfort I'm sure it'll be fine. It's a tried and tested form factor and control layout.
For feel/vibes that'll depend on the person honestly.
It won't feel very retro. But I imagine it'll be comfy
it's gonna carry the energy from the DS and GBASP
Absorb it
large clamshells just feel great to me
Mmmk
Ditto. But I wouldn't consider them like a GBASP. They're bigger. Heavier. Etc
If the GPD Win Mini wasn't $Infinity I'd grab one, ahaha
YEAH
They didn't use them they were using an example of it plus technology is always improving so it's no point of them using those chips anymore
when I had the Win2 it was fantastic but the battery life and performance were not there
Other than winlator and switch emulation, no way to play portmaster games on flip 2?
I'd love to see GPD try the Win 2 again but with like the N150
It should support Linux/Rocknix
So Portmaster via Rocknix.
Since nothing revealed from AYN yet, hoping to see them surprising us with a 8 elite at the end of the year for o3
I tried Celeste on sp and the aspect ratio ain't it 😛
I'd rather see an Odin 2 clamshell
that'd be sick too
Linux/Rocknix/Portmaster is definitely one of my main +'s for grabbing the Flip 2.
Odin 2 slider with two screens, gimme
Literally the only legitimate case for having a slider device. If it slides up to reveal a second screen, ahaha.
Is there a big market of people out there that want more performance than the 8 Gen 2 provides? Seems to me they should just pursue more and more form factors for the next year
I feel we're more at a point where the software needs to catch up
For emulation I think it's just kind of software bottlenecked.
For native Android games and Winlator though more power is appealing.
Also why does this place feel more like a general chat
There's a market for more cheap handheld pcs. I love odin form factor. Android sucks though
Or future proofing if Steam is really working on ARM based Proton.
Plus if the s8g2 has proper cfw support and the g3 is stuck on stock that’s quite the downgrade to pay extra for lol
We're not getting any more info drop so there's nothing to talk about until people start getting them 😂
Yeah pretty much they should just pull a high-end Anbernic and just use the same chip for years
H700 but bigger
I’d buy an h700 clamshell with the 406 screen today
The hope with Qualcomm pushing hard for this is that they offer/provide more tools for easier development. 🥲
Would be nice
Enough saturation and devs figure it out tho
Just no point when only 5 people own it
Still waiting for the mediatek/Nvidia collaboration to end up in consumer device for a proper windows on arm or Linux handheld, qualcomm 's adreno seems uncompetitive outside the mobile space for now at least
ARM Proton needs to be revealed to turn the handheld world upside down again.
Nvidia totally fucked up by not expanded the Tengra line with modern cores for CPU and GPU
They've been doing a lot of that lately.
they have?
To be fair crypto mining was an auto gold mine. Well and now AI
Messing up, ahaha.
"arm proton" doesn't make sense, proton is the GPU translation layer from directx to opengl/vulkan + handling of windows libraries, nothing to do with cpu emulation.
Probably will have some other name for the x86/64 to arm emulation.
they could compete so hard in the SBC market if they made a dev board that wasn't built with decade old hardware
They're definitely putting their eggs where the money is at, it just sucks for consumer level stuff.
Semantics. You know what I mean by saying "Proton" in that case instead of "ARM based GPU translation layer"
ProtArm
Yeah, you can't really look at Nvidia's business and say that they're missing out. But WE probably are. It would be nice to have them competing with the others.
well with how their RTX 50 series launch was, they might need to actually lock in for once
I think their consumer level profits is like, single digit% of total earnings.
Their AI and business level stuff is the vast majority unfortunately for us.
Time for Matrox to rise from the ashes
And even at the consumer level they're still the "top dog"
Especially now that AMD bowed out of competing at the top end.
Which is honestly fair. Nothing really demands top end GPUs lately.
If they just hone in on super affordable mid range I think it'd be fine.
and the entry level had been abandoned by AMD and Nvidia, oddly intel is doing good there
PCVR demands top end gpus....
well those high end games for VR
12400f got people eating good
the A310 has that $100 price range nicely
B570/b580 is a disappointment with the driver overhead
sadly
any unreal engine 4/5 game in VR. especially 5
the usual suspects
Well now I have to wait
Lol
and then when that comes out, a stronger soc will come out
Nah I just need that little bit of power to avoid tweaking
Power-wise I don't need much more I feel
have you been tinkering around with winlator yet?
opens up a whole new world of possibilities
I have been considering it
and a whole new world of deep tinkering
i just wanna know how good would a snapdragon run lindbergh loader
Wouldn't lie if I start hearing good things about Xbox and PS3 and Windows games
I don't find winlator worth the trouble unless you don't have a x86 handheld and/or don't want local streaming
On a handheld
no way. mvc3 is running awesome on the rp5
also the MODEL2 emulator
I got LoH trails in the sky running on my 505 a while back
Until a solution come out that work perfectly with most steam games, including installation of games and automated updates and cloud saves I doubt I will bother to actually use it (other than testing for the 'wow it can run ' experience)
it's very much built for that Linux user type experience of heavy tinkering
Honestly though
How much bulk can Retroid add?
Because if it is a stronger SOC at some point you just got to go and be like I'm going to get a Odin instead.
ew not oled
but no odin flip
I'm holding out that we get a Odin Flip tbh
Winlator will only appeal to me once I can run games through Steam proper. Like, saves and achievements and all that.
No preordering the RP Flip 2 until absolutely sure
I'm absolutely sure
xD
I've been wanting this since I got both my X18S and Flip 1
I'm realize though I really like the DS Form Factor
Not so much a Candy Bar fan
Makes sense though seeing as my childhood handheld was the DS
I like clamshells since you get a bigger screen for the same candy bar size and better controls since you can properly offset everything.
Trust me. If not for flip 1 hinge and mini fiasco I'd probably be day 1-ing this
Also built in "case" for protection.
I just like I can close the lid and shove it easily into a pocket
Nothing gets caught or snagged
just my like SP of yore
Such a useful feature as a kid
or my 3/DS
Especially considering all the other sharp objects in my pocket lol
i like the rp5 so much i was considering this flip2
My DS went though hell XD
Depending on how the flip is I'll probably be selling my RP4 Pro
That's why I'm getting the ONEXSUGAR. I wanna feel like I'm trying to shove a spider on cocaine into my pocket every time
no pricing on that yet right?
have we even seen a working unit and not a 3D render?
Woah
WHAT IS THAT
o2 portal is oled
yep. was talking odin 2
It's an experiment gone wrong. And I both love and hate it
It looks so overengineered
Omg hahahaha
It is Onex
for a screen as big as portal, i think ill stick with x86
Yeah
I'm def gonna avoid all IPS at this point. My eyes have seen the light or should I say dark
It's a clamshell, but with 3 hinge points of failure and it closes with both screens exposed 😂
No matter what you do you're guarantee to scratch your screen eventually
The one sugar looks really good but i have one concern about the device. Too many mobile parts
My main concern about the one sugar was actually the 4 buttons in place of a d-pad
That one too
Eh. They make laptops. I'm hoping they can get a hinge right. And I put my phone in my pocket with exposed screen daily. So I'm hoping it's not a total dumpster fire?
I like weird attempts
Definitely some weird "sugar" out there 😜
The concept is is very interesting
Plus dual screens are kinda limited as far as options go
True dat
So far duo and y700 put vertically are my best experiences. Lol
A turbo 3ds with transformers vibes
Raaaaaaah super SP!!!!!
Weird but cool
I think the ideal for me would be roughly the size/shape of the rpmini with custom 4 inch 4:3 screen squeezed in and a 1080p screen folding over to cover it.
Suboptimal
1440p 4:3 and 1440 16:9 is what you want
Integer scaling for a ton of systems
The super SP standard
Like how this community is pretty varied in demographics
You have a point, not going to turn down more pixels 😅
I was thinking about it, but there’s nothing the D1100 would benefit myself over the 865
It’s just the poor man’s version
Does it draw less power?
$20 doesn't seem like enough discount for what you loose imo
I'd be really curious to see the sales numbers over time
it's not cheap enough to compete with low cost devices, and if you're already spending $200 why not the extra couple bucks to get the best
or the best supported anyway
hell shipping costs more than the difference 😆
Isn’t it $30?
Could be, Still not really significant though
if was 50 dollar I would thought about it
I'd have actually considered the D1100 instead if it was like $40-50 less.
But at only $30, may as well get SD865 unless shipping costs are a big factor where you live
No 5:3? L
ew
Ok, so $30
gonna be getting a 1tb SD card for this one
I regret that I have but 1TB I can afford! 😆
I’ve got one waiting for it too 😁
I think I'm good. The games I'm most likely to play on the go are better served by a top d-pad. It looks good for twin-stick shooters but I can't even remember the last time I played one. I barely even touch my Odin 2 anymore.
if I only kept games I wanted to play.... well i could probably make due with a 4gb card and an amberic
the dpad is same place as the og flip. but whatever
lol wut?
I own an OG Flip and that's news to me.
this proves how little you use it
Are you both confusing the Flip and the Odin?
the dpad is more in middle then on the bottom like odin 2
or this proves how sleep deprived I am
I could've sworn they did the same layout as the Flip 1 again
Nope, I think the Flip 2 is the first time they did stick on top.
First time since the 2+
didn't the RP2/+ do stick top?
RP2 and RP2+
I forget they changed the layout when making the 2S.
No screen protector for flip 2? Is this because it wont close properly if applied.
to take say stick on top isn't fair.
I think the both stick top layout will work great for me. At first I wanted dualshock layout, but now this might make me actually happier cause I’m gonna be playing mostly GC games on this
GC right stick was a nub anyways lol
I'm gonna be playing tons of RPGs on here since Vita will work pretty well, and I could do that fine on the X18S
Like I said, the Flip 2 will be great for certain types of games, but not the ones I typically play outdoors.
It's going to be a personal preference thing.
GPD and X18S does not feel like dpad on bottom
fair?
well sure, but I would rather have Qualcomm make the SD8gen2 more affordable for gaming, because that now also has Linux support
so if we preorder, is it set in stone? or we can still cancel?
you can cancel
So is this gonna work as first come, first serve?
Like the first people to preorder get the first shipped units?
Or are they gonna start shipping by regions?
You know this is prob a question for Retroid themselves
It's usually by whatever region they can optimally fill up a shipping crate with first.
So time of pre-order doesn't matter until they start shipping basically.
I gotcha
It's just another reason why companies like pre-orders since it lets them batch ship and save a bit of money in the initial run.
You sure you don't want .1 moar Bluetooth?!? 😜
So I’ve looked up a lot of RP5 reviews and don’t see where I would run into an issue, but I shouldn’t have an issue running pretty much any Wii games on the Flip 2 with the SD865, right? I wanna use this as a Wii and older machine
Yeah. It always trickles down tho
Prices start high. Then more manus adopt. Then scales of production kick in. Then prices come down
it would be nice if Qualcomm made their G-series SoC more accessible for Linux
I imagine that'll happen with time as well. Demand for both chips and Linux should go up
At least I hope it does. Starting a G series collection it seems
Do you guys know if the rp5 abxy button replacement will work for the flip 2
Feels like something they should have confirmed before preorders
yes rp4/rp5 and rpflip2 buttons are all interchangeable
It’s something I always wanna do, but then I thought about how I’m only ever gonna play Nintendo games on here more than likely
I love the Xbox layout, but it’s not like it’s gonna help by switching to it
How long does it usually take Retroid to ship things?
Like the shipping times

We need "yay clams" as some type of sticker or something
He looks like he is making us an offer we can't refuse.
Thanks for helping us pass the time, Stubbs ❤️
Did they say the same about the 4-button RP Classic?
haven't heard anything, maybe those are the Mini buttons?
the cows evolved into cowboys?
I'm on super mega limited internet down to Mexico right now, can someone TLDR this for me before preorders open in an hour
I WILL watch it when I return home but that won't be for a week
Happy to help! Eased my nerves to make it as well 😆
oh SHIT
just wait for reviews to be out, someone gotta has to break their hinge for science and we don't know real world performance of the Classic yet
That's fair
most of us aren't too pressed for new handhelds anyway, rather will get mine a week or two later than deal with trouble
raaah super sp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just preorder and cancel on the last day
Yeah I'll be ordering tonight.
Like the RP5 this will probably have a high turnover rate in the Retro handhelds marketplace.
Hopefully the ergonomics are better than the RP5
I'll never forget that photo thinking man he got it so right
ive never had a problem with the rp5's ergo....
If your a mostly d-pad guy you were fine.
i did a whole metroid dread playthrough without any issues
The RP5 ergo was fine for games you could play on any Anbernic H700 device.
The sticks are just in a bad place. Luckily grips fix it for most people
Agreed, if you're willing to put a grip on it which I wasn't .I don't like putting stuff like that on my devices then you are fine
Me not owning a handheld
Whatever happened to that kid?
are you guys thinking the flip2 ergo (in respect to the sticks and buttons placement) is better?
that's on you, we had a very fat year for Retro handhelds
But like I need a clamshell. I won’t accept anything else😤
Like a DS style clamshell
That's the million dollar question. I guess we'll find out once someone gets in their hands.
And the Ayaneo Flip DS was way too expensive and naturally had terrible battery life due to being a windows machine
Same layouts as the Wii U Gamepad and Pro Controller, which people have said to be very comfortable, so I'm expecting it to be to at the least be very good.
Idk about better bc everyone has their preferences on controller layouts
stubbs likes it
Speaking for myself, the Wii U Pro Controller was and still is my all time favorite controller, so the fact that this device has the same layout as that is awesome to me
the big plus for me is that the dpad is at the bottom
Won't know til I hold it. But I've held an RP5. I mean for me, sticks anywhere but the chin of the device is better imo
Otherwise your holding it like an offering
I think the fact the dpad and buttons are inset matter more than the fact that they're at the bottom.
Part of the reason I've seen people say the RP5 isn't very comfortable but more people seem to find the Mini comfortable is the Mini having the sticks inset
It's also just the weight of the device. The sticks are towards the middle of it when the lid is open
It makes a big difference
I think it'll be ok in the same regard as like GPD devices being ok
It's when your gripping the chin and most of the weight is above the sticks, that it's an issue
Especially if you then have to reach for triggers
It works with grips because it then again puts the sticks in the middle of the device
I’m in the States. 4PX or DHL?
DHL precharges all the new taxes and tarrifs
the deed is DONE
not sure if 4PX would dodge them but be slower
My credit card company thinks this is a scam😭
I’m glad they’re careful but really???
Got mine in GC! I went with 4PX because I am a patient boy 🙂
probably had a lot of charge backs over the mini issues would make credit cards be more critical of purchases from them
man this may be the slowest Retroid preorder ever, where's the excitement
definitely go with 4PX if you don't wanna risk it with taxes
Wym?
Found the new guy 😅
DHL you'll always get hit with import taxes, 4PX most of the time not
yay we saved $30
From a company that tried to screw over their customer base until they got bullied into doing the right thing. Yay 🍻🤣
So basically go with 4PX to spend less money on shipping and possibly dodge import taxes??😭
Yes
yes man, it's that simple
Not complicated lol
IT WENT THROUGH
I just had to text my credit card company back that I wasn’t being scammed out of ~$230
I think
im just wondering if i would get a better deal using aliexpress coupons
but they do price a bit higher on ali than their own site?
hmm... for the price i paid for the bundle, i couldve gotten a base odin portal.......
but i dont think i want something that large? and its not a clamshell
and it doesnt have 6 buttons
You haven't bought enough retro handhelds to teach them this is "normal" yet? 😜
You should order one and see whether you like the extra size
They let me send my money to the sketchy Russian company that makes WarThunder but won’t let me send my money to the Chinese handheld company embroiled in recent controversy
The Odin2 Portal is a stay-at-home handheld for the most part
Whereas I'm expecting the Flip 2 to be something you can take everywhere
For that size I’ll just use my ROG ally I guess
If you already have an Rog Ally, then there's less need of a Portal imo.
yea i think for emulation you can pretty much main a flip 2
since its both pocketable and has a big enough and nice enough screen for everything android related unless you need that extra inch for better streaming
and its generally powerful enough to run enough-ish switch for most people who don't plan on playing high end
which u should be playing on a normal switch
Which Flip 2 SKU are you getting?

SD865
Hey my poll’s done
What good timing
Alias I see you maining the D1100
Stand your ground
I just wanted my own option to feel special
Nobody's actually going to buy the rp4flip
Yeah that was a weird choice to bring back the 4 chipset. My guess is they either had alot of spare chips lying around, or else this option makes more sense for the asian market
Does anyone have an idea how MHGU will run on the flip 2? Comparing it to the Steam Deck
Since they finally ended their rp4p sales I'll guess it's to dump remaining stock. Even if flip d1100 sales are minor it's probably more than the rp4p at this point in life cycle.
that does impy that Retroid is basically building handhelds to order though. Otherwise I would not think they would have a bunch of chips just lying around to spare.
The chip isn't new. Ask someone with an rp5. Lol
There ya go
That's why their pre-order period takes so long. They don't produce anything until it goes live.
Just ordered the GC Flip 2 as a pocketable sibling to my Odin 2 ☺️ (with the lanyard, naturally 😂)
I’ve had 3 DHL deliveries from Retroid in the last 2 weeks (poor planning, painful I know) and no duties or delays
That all depends on the country you reside in
I am super tempted to sell my O2 mini pro and get a transparent blue flip 2 because I am all about that clamshell life
oh so i notice they take full payment right away
This would be tempting to me as well. Because it's transparent and my mini is my only non transparent device. But I absolutely wouldn't do it for an untested retroid pre-order 😅
im so used to payment when shipped lmao
Well mine is the Odin 2 Pro (not the mini) which will be my house device, and the Flip 2 will be my out the house device
But I have a clip shield so I can take it anywhere. And a vinyl skin complete wrap so I don't worry about it
I totally get that, for me I would be replacing my out of house device. Just need to get emulators on my steamdeck like I have been planning to do for months first
Easiest method nowadays is RetroDeck for that
That's how I feel about my ally. I tried emudeck but for me it's a cluster fuck. Might just use retrobat. So much easier to go into the software to do stuff. Although that's not an option on the deck
After putting 4tb in it I have plenty of space 🤣
I’m trying hard to not preorder…must…stay…strong….
I have a 1.5 tb sd card in my steamdeck. Which has 512 gigs of storage as is
Man I have a problem, and the problem is wanting to hoard data but do so on a budget
If they had done sfc colorway id be a lost cause but think im gonna make it
I've debated throwing a 1.5 SD card in it but...ally. 🤣
I have the 2TB in my Odin 2 to be fair 😂
Although it wasn't recently warranty repaired with a new mobo. So maybe it's safe
I have a 1.5 in mine. Thought about a 2tb but still so expensive.
Was half price on Black Friday so gave in
I'd have bitten on that as well. Lol. I just looked this week. Not worth it to me yet
1.5 is still big enough but now it’s starting to support PS3 content that extra 500GB on mine will get swallowed
Yeah. You add in PS3. Wiiu. Starts seeming like not enough real quick
My mini can't do Linux...yet 😞
Only reason I'm almost tempted to snatch up another Odin 2. But I could just stop being lazy and do it on my ally.
No but RPCS3 is now Alpha 4 on Android so won’t need Linux eventually. And from what I saw Xemu runs shockingly on it anyway.
I'll have to start paying attention. I do need to trim down my PS2 and switch games on it though. 😅
So many I added just for testing that I'll never play
Now if they could fix vita emulation. Vita3k or whatever is an abortion of a product
Yeah Vita3K is still early days, but I’ve got Wipeout and a couple of others running well on it
My ocd says I must have complete libraries, but thankfully I dint need to carry them all with me
I’m gonna need to expand my nas to deal with my latest rom collecting relapse though
No screen protector for the flip 2??
Yeah I was looking for that
I thought that, but I guess the clamshell is its protection most of the time. They’ll appear on Ali eventually
Nah bro you got the wrong kind of OCD, you need to have the kind that only stores good games
I have extra switch lite and generic 5.5” screen protectors. I’ll try those
Unless it's 8 and 16 bit because those file sizes are so small you might as well throw on the whole library
I became selective at disc based onwards effectively
That doesn't work xD
Uh
Not when it fits around the buttons etc
Hmmm seems you're right
They’ll come out on AliExpress 3rd party within weeks
I'm sure they'll make one eventually probably just an oversight
Turn your Flip 2 into a plane with those glass wings
It’s whether the design of it would close properly or effect the recessed sticks with one on
You could definitely bust out a pair of scissors and make it work for sure
But you would be better off buying a generic screen protector instead
Uh
With glass?
It's late and I'm tired...
$267 to Retroid. May i regret this
Only?
We may, but hopefully we may not
Yeh with DHL. Flip 2, case, and lanyard.
No classic?!
As long the screen is as advertised and that hinge does its job well, we should be all good
I am trying to temper myself 🙂
I seriously just want to play GBA on an oled clamshell
I was so close to buying RP5 but then the flip2 rumors came out
Clamshell is the ultimate form
The only interesting choice they’ve made is sticking with Android 13 while the Classic uses 14. Hopefully an update comes eventually.
Yes
The fact more aren’t on the market is a travesty
Does the version of Android 13 Retroid use allow multiple profiles? So that you could keep saves separate from each other?
You know how this works right? Or are you tired from a long day as well? 😅
Who preordered
Unda da USB C
It’s 2:47am here so yes 😂
Retroid chooses the chip. And you get what's available to it. 865 JUST got 13. The other chip isn't old so it gets better treatment
Anyone else read the website url and sometimes go "Gore Troid? Wtf is that"
Ah yes true
Yup, Classic has newer chip = newer Android
Literally what I just said 🤷🏻♂️
That's why I said yup in agreement
I've done it
Well 13 on other devices can handle multiple users, but not sure if Retroid activate it
thank you Brian
you've redeemed yourself
way to go, Brian!
It'd be cool if retroid showed how many pre-orders there are like igg
I didn’t opt for the case personally cause A: it’s clam should protect it and B: it’d want a purple case to match the console ideally
I'm crossing my fingers. I'm a gentle giant with all of my devices so I doubt the hinge will give me issues. I just hope everything else is done to the tee.
to induce fomo?
But you can never have enough cases 🙂
i just got it cause its just $10
Joey says less people than usual are buying from his referral, the recent drama has probably made a dent
ill find a nicer one later
I went for the case because I will want it when I do toss it in a bag, but yeah, purple would have been nice
Mostly I'm curious whether flip or classic is winning
i did the referal here i think.. thats RH right?
Yeah a purple case will presumably pop up somewhere in the end
Is there any bonus to buying from referrals?
you support the dudes
Somebody shows up on a scooter at your house and gives you a cool thumbs up
If they had a solid yellow classic I think I'd crack
But the pokemon thing is ugly imo
Classic is also 1:1 ?
Supposedly if I wanted a travel case for the Flip 2, even tho it’s a clamshell and a case kinda isn’t really necessary, could I just get a DS variant case?
The Retorid one is kinda boring
Maybe the winners are the friends we made along the way? ... 🤔 ... Nah, Retroid da winner if the CEO gets his house back
Screen aspect ratio
what happened to his house
no
Can't say for certain without the dimensions, the retroid pocket listing doesn't have the dimensions as far as I can see. You probably could though, they tend to make them slightly roomier than they need to be
8:7
I got these austor cases but I feel like retroid case will fit triggers better
or 31:27
Is 8:7 a specific system?

its not available on there yet tho
I know we got Flip 2 dimensions in that one post
and who knows how much markup retroid will put on aliexpress
Yeah you're right we could just compare the flip 2 dimensions to the DS case dimensions
I'm joking, I think he just took out extra credit for a loan against his house to finance a new custom screen for the rpmini revision
or buy the $10 one now, and buy nice etsy one later?
I might pick up some new earbuds too
I didn’t even think to check Etsy👀👀
super nice ones for rp5 there
Sometimes Etsy comes in clutch with super nice custom things
Are you going to buy the retroid ones?
Nah
retroid has earbuds?
It's an important question yall. Do retroid's cases have a chemical scent? Like rubber.
$15. cant be good
Everytime I see those earbuds
Are you excited about the Flip 2?

I am
Hey my other poll finished
It has gotta be thicker, especially around the triggers
since its a clamshell, maybe i can just get away with a slip-on case?
like the psp
im currently using a switch lite slip-on case as my rp5 case
When I see people holding the RP5, it seems pretty small
Theres no way this thing sits flat in a DS or 3DS XL case
It has a slight door hinge angle
Damn. Now I'm debating on if i want to swap the black for SNES to match my 3ds xl
It's still a tiny bit of extra pressure you don't want
Retroid case will have indentation
just buy $10 one now, etsy later. cmon
Nahhh I don’t need a case
i mean, look at this thing
https://i.etsystatic.com/39242573/r/il/973188/6617637732/il_1588xN.6617637732_6klc.jpg
That is neat
I am once again a contrarian and strongly dislike plastic cases
i was about to buy it, but now ill wait to buy for the flip instead
I love stuff like JSAUX.
I might need one of those redesigned for flip 2 later
Designed for sports and other active use, the affordable JVC HA-EB75 splash-proof headphones incorporate a soft rubber ear clip that fits around the outer ear to hold the earbud in place. To ensure a comfortable and secure fit, the ear clip is adjustable, with a slide mechanism that offers five d...
I like momentum 4s for gaming
I appreciate it, but I do have some clip styles already for my work. My old one’s falling out was a real pain. I’m mainly looking for some traditional in-ears
I've been using bose qc IIs for my phone for 1.5 years now
I was looking at them or whatever iteration they’re on now
Best noise cancelation I've ever experienced, working at a place that has air pumps working all day.
They're pretty finicky though, I usually have to hard reset them every week or two.
Just holding the reset button for 30seconds
I gotcha
I’m prob gonna start doing my rounds of watching YouTube reviews
Sorting through paid reviews is a hassle tho
Rtings.com is helpful tho
Lol, just checked my order email and noticed another email shortly after it says my credit score changed 😅
Yeaaa I’m just looking for tru-wireless ones. I have some clip-ons for work already.
ah
Dude in the marketing looks cool tho
Uhhhhhh
For me I ended up ordering a few that I narrowed it down to on Amazon and doing a try out
I mean so long as you pay it off I don’t know why they caring you like that🥲
There are no other earbuds on the market that do wing tips like bose
welp. time to play more suikoden 2
Falling for scams like this, they can't trust me anymore! 😱
Sorry putting all my marbles in the Flip 2. Don’t got another handheld besides what’s coming in the mail now🙃
Nahhhh Retroid never does sketchy stuff. 100% reputable
Wait until someone realizes they can't afford the Nintendo Switch 2 anymore
Make sure you get at least six double beat runes from the blade rabbits at the mist valley at the beginning of the game, otherwise it's a long time until you can farm them
Playing that myself as well
I know what those words mean individually, but not all together like that 🤔
Nah not yours, go forth and game. You are not afflicted with the sickness.
- lobby retroid for a limited edition cow spotted flip2 a la Gateway
Usually a month before devices get sent to customers?
So like May I can expect to play?
Time to drunk order an rp flip 2 /s
they sold those dumb skins for the rp5, might as well do some for the flip2 and have one be a cow pattern
huh, no screen protector?
Thoughts on Flip 2 pricing?

Just right
what color yall going. they all seem kinda nice. hmm
When I do pick one up probably black or ice blue
ice blue looks dope yea, but i like rgb and that might defuse weird
I kind of hope it lights up the shell or something
I went black but kinda wanna switch to snes
All of the colors look really good imo
GameCube. It’s the only real option
Overplayed lowkey
Gamecube one is ugliest :p
I want to see them irl, but right now my ranking from best to worst is
- Black
- Ice blue
- Snes
- Gamecube
I want my Flip 2 to look like a toy
GC achieves that
Plus if I’m gonna use a clamshell in public, ima go all out
Everyone’s gonna know
Something about the purple looks slightly off idk what it is
so i got out a ruler.... this dimensions wise is... just like a thicker version of my samsung ultra phone? its kinda what i want from a travel device lol.
i love my odin 2 portal, but my god i can't bring this outside unless i bring like a bag bag
doesn't fit my jacket pocket great
or my smaller slings
ill wait for reviews/impressions tho
its retroid. who the heck knows what wacky surprise
who has a flip 1 here.
are the L1/R1 comfortable to reach?
seems jammed behind the screen
which could be annoying
do we know when review units are going out?
Should shorter than samsung ultra phones
Kirby Air Ride on the Flip 2 is gonna be awesome😏
Guys, if you're about to pre-order, you must STOP RIGHT THERE. I'm just getting word that Retroid MAY in the FUTURE have a device with a more powerful chip than the Flip 2! it could have other differences too, like a different screen, different buttons, or maybe a different form factor entirely! Just saying, if you wanna be smart, save your money for what's NEXT.
You raise a good point.
Counterpoint: if you always save your money for what's next, there's always going to be a next next thing. Sometimes it's good to enjoy something now.
(not saying anyone should rush to buy anything in particular, but the argument that something else better might come out is silly since something else better will ALWAYS eventually come out.)
I’ve been waiting for pocketable gamecube since the gamecube came out. I’m waiting 2 months to see if ppl say it’s reliable then I’m copping
I’m not gonna feel fomo for a device that could may or may not be in my hands in over a year when I j simply want a reliable pocketable gamecube man
I'm sure this is has been talked about ad nauseum, but aside from the hinge... it's a RP5, right?
Depends on if you get the 865 or the D1100. I don’t think they’re selling/shipping the D1100’s until later though
But a few other differences. The hybrid home/back button is one of em’ (🤢)
rp3+ deja vu?
But I still don’t have a handheld at all😢
what is your portable emulation device
Uhhhhh the Flip 2 in a month or so???
I mean ig you could count my phone 13 mini, but Apple no like JIT😒
It won’t be an issue for everyone, but it’s def a downside when they had space to have separate buttons for home and menu like they did for previous consoles. Hell the original flip had mappable buttons, which even tho some complained about where they were located, being able to have simple hotkeys is welcomed
i might buy flip 2 until it broke then flip 5 comes out
Cows or no cows btw
Me ignoring all the warnings about pre-ordering the Flip 2 because I don’t have a handheld yet
It's nice, no doubt about it, but I decided to wait for a version with newer chip. 865 is 4 years old already..
Mighty fine chipset for GC and PS2 which is the most I'll use it for
true, Its fine for those, though not perfect. But its enough for most, no doubt
I see a lot of RP5 videos where it handles Wii well too
Makes sense since Wii is just a skinny GameCube with bells on
I'm led to believe Wii is pretty much perfect????
Outside of that it seems like native games also only end up targeting up to that power level, so idk if it's that much of a risk to get it for games that exist right now rather than hold off even longer just to run some immature Switch emulator 10% better.
And that's assuming they make a Flip with the new "kinda good" snapdragon chip they just talked about.
I wouldnt mind a 8gen2 retroid handheld, but the cheapest one is 300 dollars right now, and I dont really need all that power for the games I usually play
but it would be nice if the price went down to what a RP5 costs now, there's some android games that run really well on it (I have it on my tablet) and it'd be nice
like ZZZ or HSR
I decided to avoid the classic, at least flip 2 is a revision hehe
I will wait for the reviews first
And probably the reviews could be release at the end of the month
Even if it were to fit, i don’t think there’s enough clearance to avoids the sticks touch the screen.
A screen protectors would ultimately close the distance between screen and controls
still confused why people would want a screen protector on a clamshell
what are you guys doing to your handhelds
Exactly
What bout the first question
Probably a yes
Actually 1984
Sucks but it makes sense.
I didn't pre order the Flip 2, but I did buy a Rg35xx SP for $40.
So my Flip FOMO has been sated
35sp is an amazing handheld
and it could always be worse. You could've bought a Miyoo flip
I have a MM+, it's great. I'd consider the Miyoo Flip after a few revisions. We're on rev 2, right?
I've already spent a bit too much this month, and next month I'm killing the pig on a few Super7 kits for my Switches
At least I assume next month lol
So legit, my 2DS XL is getting marks on the top display from the buttons. So I can see the benefit of a screen protector in this case.
I know ZZZ has controller support on Android, I started playing it. Does Honkai SR?
Based
Yeah it does
What color did yall get in stuck between 16 bit and transparent
I just don't know if I trust transparent plastic hinges enough 😕
I do plan on getting a Flip2 for sure, so probably GC or 16-bit
I like the sentiment above where if you’re gonna get a colorway, go big and get the GC
But the gray 16 bit looks super clean. I’d probably swap the buttons too.
Like with matching gray buttons to go for a super slick look
I also would probably swap all the buttons on the GC to light gray, same with the right stick
I’m hoping Retroid sells replacement buttons
Lmao I still have replacement buttons lying around for my Odin2 that I still need to install
are you the guy who had the luigi bikini pfp
did they ship my order yet
yeah check your mailbox
No that’s jigg
yes that's him
pffff

Playing in high wind situations.
I had to double take because Jigg is the main guy I know of in here with a cursed pfp
I can change it to this instead if it makes you feel more comfortable
Hello everybody my name is welcome
I just saw this, I'm considering retirement now
Wow it’s here!
I'd say I'm sorry but I'm not
Tits-a-me
nice udders
Considering the recent issues, will you buy RP Flip 2 or RP Classic ?
33
58
4
Will wait for reviews before considering purchase
Nah I was just joking. I don’t even want a screen protector on my clamshell. I just thought the idea of glass wings on the Flip 2 from using the RP5 screen protector was funny
U get it
The issue i have with 16 bit is rgb looks kind of meh on it
Black utilizes rgb very well. And it'll match steam deck
When do reviews usually go up?
the easy fix for any rgb is to turn it off
i used to be all in on rgb. but have since just turned off
What color are you buying ?
15
50

Black
I hope they all have the same finish
I hate when devices have different finishes and induce fomo
RGB is massively overrated. If I had to do my desktop over again, I’d buy all parts with no RGB
But flashy lights make me game faster
The irony of sending RGB Vegeta is not lost on me
i built my new computer with all rgb to see how different it was to no rgb and its actually such a mess and pain dealing with so many cables
never again
It’s also lovely when you can’t figure out how to disable a piece of RGB
Team NoBezel wins
did you use fans that can connect and link to each other? or fans with individual pwm and argb headers?
OpenRGB/SignalRGB
Doesn’t work
wow
oh wait, are you talking about a handheld or pc?
But I refuse to spend more money on something else
Desktop
I looked into it, and it’s the way that this AIO is specifically set up
Is what it is, unfortunately. I do keep my desktop under my desk though, so I don’t actually see it thankfully.
See I liked the idea of doing this for about 15 minutes until I realized that I find it so extremely distracting
it was fun at the time. i just leave it off now lol
To give an example, I don’t even like putting weapon charms on guns because it annoys me seeing it in the corner of my eye
So a whole laser light show definitely wasn’t gonna make the cut🙃
External??
Hm
Now what
Does getting higher end SD cards actually matter for these handhelds?
Also what would be a good idea to store on the actual drive in the handheld?
Speed wise, probably not. But I still do use faster SD cards anyway. Quicker to copy over ROMs
I gotcha. I got some new earbuds and will probably get an SD card to go with my Flip 2
Does retroid work with any usb c charger?
Their discord is useless for getting dev answers xD
I mean I don’t see why it wouldn’t?
I just wanna make sure I don't melt my device
I mean I would think as long as you use a quality cord and base, you should be fine
Like Anker?
I know it’s supposed to be a good brand. Although I think they had some data privacy issues a year or so ago
Maybe a couple now
Yeh I heard about data issues but that was about their cameras
Kinda unrelated to performance of the product tho
They ain't taking data out of my power brick xD
That you know of👀👀
Bro
I would willingly give data to someone that can figure out how to quitely take data from an outlet
Anker base secretly has a chip inside that streams data collected from the Type C cable straight to their evil corpo servers
Not sure if there’s confirmation for that, but swapping is something they talked about with the Flip 2 itself
I'm really torn on black vs snes now
If I were to get a Mini or an RP5, definitely black no questions asked
For maximum screen immersion at night
But idk about a flip
I think I prefer the black borders on 2DS XL at night over the grey bars of 3DS XL at night
as an og flip owner i can tell you black is the way to go in that regard.
The only difference might be the opaque from the transparent. Usually the transparent feels a little grippier, less glossy and less smooth
I hope the solid colors are like the RP4P texture
is it too late to cancel?
Yes
