- ❓non-clacky face buttons (e.g. soft click ala Xbox controller or Steam Deck)
- ✅ sd865 or otherwise enough power for comfortable PS2/GC

The simplest way I can think of to explain my issue with it would be recommending that you try TWEWY for DS on the thing, just to see for yourself if it’s an issue.

One hand D-Pad, the other touch. You can get away with switching back and forth (since you’d have to do that anyways for looking at the other character on the top screen) but you’d still need to be switching at a constant enough rate where keeping both hands ready would end up being outright easier than switching.

Screen scaling issue where the screen’s display driver chip outputs 928p to the 960p display.
The problem isn’t really the screen per say, but the fact that Retroid’s had put off on refunding people for the issue on the promise that “they’ll fix it, but if we can’t, we’ll extend the warranty deadline so that people can still get a refund”.
Not only did they not do that internally, but when people demanded a public answer, this was their response.

it's more that it's quite noticeable even outside of shaders, especially on pixel art games. For me, it's as if someone has applied a slight bilinear filter. Might not be a dealbreaker for some, but it's definitely not as crisp compared to other devices side by side. Even with integer scaling.

Well, the flip 2 is essentially exactly the kind of handheld I was looking for. Strong enough to play Wii games and also in a clamshell form factor. It would seriously suck if these are the last devices though

I get what you’re saying Thethousandscar, but let’s be honest here, if they don’t have a really good response by Monday, maybe Tuesday (so not 1-2 weeks), they’re not gonna do well because not only are people gonna distrust these 2, but Retroid itself will likely be going through a ton of chargebacks since they outright did give some pretty good ammunition for fraud claims, and people are more than happy to use it.

Yeah, I’m not gonna hold the previous devices on them when it does legit feel too much like their Rockchip provider outright scammed them, but they still showed that they’re not great at checking this stuff in advance due to falling for that same provider’s scam twice, so I’m gonna need community devs to verify if their devices are legit from here on out (and the good news is that at the very least, it seems like that’s exactly what they plan to do since it also gives those devs a head start on cfw work).
