#Lenovo Legion Go 2
1 messages · Page 4 of 1
I'm made my bed with the aokzoe a1x and intend to stay in it. 🫠
More open box deals for me
Wow that’s … insane
Switch 2 situation
Literally means nothing lol
The Claw is always sold out at Bestbuy
Man the fact that they are clearly aware of the modding community based on their trailer makes it even more annoying that we didn't get an official keyboard case
Todd Howard mentality fr
easy to sell out when you only stock 5 units per store XD
But yeah whales gonna whale I guess
really looking forward to buying this used from someone here in a year at half price
….And yet we still get this 😫 just let me buy it already!
It pains me to be in Mexico because I know it most likely won't be available in the next 6 months
Yeah I'm not seeing any order page in Canada yet either
I had to click the link in their tweet about the Go 2 to actually get to the sales page. Can’t seem to search on the site to get to the Go 2
…but still coming soon either way
Man, this thing is so expensive, but that OLED screen is so tempting. If I can get 10% off through a work discount, I may be unable to resist...
Hoping to use my 10% also 😬
I just wanna know the Canadian price
By all rights it should be a good chunk lower than the American because of tariffs
If they overcharge us to recoup American self inflicted losses I’m gonna pass and order a gpd pocket 4 instead
If they appropriately lower our price by the cost of the tariffs I’m getting one for sure
With our luck it'll probably be more expensive. If it goes up in the states, it goes up here even more 😂
🙁
The tech market sucks so bad these days that buying direct from China via retro handheld/minipc/off brand laptop manufacturers is all I’ve been doing lately
Are you talking about that reddit thread? I had so many problems with that scrawl I don't even know where to begin. There was so much capatilistic glazing hidden in that post I wanted to puke.
Very sus of that thread
The more I think about the Lego 2 and all it's features the price makes sense. These companies want to make a profit while also putting in everything people wanted. Surprised Pikachu it means more money.
Aye.
Legion go S is the one for people who don't want premium hardware/prices.
Legion go 2 is the premium brand.
It costs a lot to make, and most of the market won't care about a lot of the things it does. That's fine, it's not a product for them.
Hell, it's not a product for me either. But I get what they are doing.
But I want premium products at dollar store prices 😭😭😭
They should sell the legion go 2 on a pay what you feel is fair policy
Personally I just don't think the cost is justified, but I put that on AMD as much as I put in Lenovo. Yes it is premium, no I don't expect it be a bargain, but 1,500 after taxes is absolutely too much, especially considering rival products come in at much less and those prices are still gouging people IMO. Yes the Lego2 has some great new features but that's an insane jump to get there.
It is what it is / human nature, but seeing people go from sticker shock and run to 'well, it's justified' is a bit depressing.
I've been saying for months it will be this price my dude
If other PC handhelds would do OLED then it wouldn't be so enticing lol
I think the Xbox ROG Ally X looks interesting, and very comfortable, but wtf am I sposta do with a 7" 16:9 LCD
As an American I want apologize to my international brethren profusely for our recent fuckery. I wish the tarrifs would only be restrained to those in the US but there is no company on the planet that won't use the US shit show as an excuse to 'make up' for profits in the rest of the world.
I saw the 1,099 price tag in British sterling and thought, 'wow, they came out ahead price wise for once' until I went through the conversation and realized, 'nope, that's like 1,500 USD - they're just as boned as we are.'
Though to put a caveat on this statement, I don't mean you shouldn't get the device - if I had more money I'd absolutely get it. It's the Lamborghini of handhelds; and if you can get a Lamborghini get a Lamborghini, I would myself as soon as I have the funds.
I'm just bemoaning that in the pc handheld market there really wasn't a Lamborghini option from the major manufacturers, and now that we're there, the jump to 'ultra premium' is due to small gains, not leaps at this price delta. A VRR OLED is awesome, a 10-15 percent uplift is good, and more battery life is great, but at this price point we jumped from working class to Jeff Bezos on this gaming category.
£1,099 isn't confirmed yet, that was just a random YouTuber, who may have just been converting the dollars price.
£1,099 would be cheaper though, as it includes all taxes.
Was going to have a comparison of the Lego2 on checkout at best buy but they're sold out (of the pre-orders), but I'd pay '$1,434.38' in the state of Massachussets.... So UK has it worse than the US.
Again, my apologies.
Tech Chap has 1.5m subs and was one of the few YouTubers who got an actual unit. I don't think he would have included the price in his video if it wasn't accurate
What's your state's tax? UK is 20% and it's included in the £1,099
Yeah, that guy is about as reliable as you can get
Pre-VAT is £915, or $1,234.91
I always have to look it up, but in Massachusetts, the state in which I live, it's 6.25 percent. 84.38 for a 1,350 USD purchase.
Just this afternoon I was like ... "Maybe I'll preorder it today." Well at least I will be saving my money for a bit, then.\
Worked in IRE for a while and I can tell you as an ex pat I so very much miss VAT, it's a billion / trillion / quadrillion better system than we could ever possibly conceve in the US
The Z2 one is still there, but if I'm paying that much it's got to be at least SOME performance improvement over what I already have.
I'm glad it's sold out as I'm 90% sure I'd flake and pre-order it. I really don't want to get another device and skip on the lego2, but I think at 1,500 dollars I have to tick other boxes for the professional workflow, a.k.a. it really has to have 64GB of ram, etc.
...and it's looking more probable that getting it at a retail store (best buy) is a requirement for me as I'm finding out I may actually need CUDA cores for this work, meaning I'll be forced into a laptop with a discrete Nvidia GPU which I'll just never use when I'm not out at a shoot a few times a month.
Thinking lately to just buy the Legion G S, attempt a shoot to see if it works, and return it. Got 60 days with BB and they don't care in the slightest about returns, but it's also a ton of time lost in resetting everything before the return as I got a lot of OS and program prep to do.
I'm scared of the CAD price
Sorry, to beat this dead horse, I just read this about taxes in my state:
"Clothing: Individual articles of clothing are exempt if the price is $175 or less. Only the amount over $175 is subject to the 6.25% tax. For a $1,350 coat, the tax would only apply to the final $1,175."
Honestly, I had no idea. Definitely would have split up a few purchases over the years on clothing runs. Don't get me started on our 'tax free weekends' which are an actual thing and will twist your melon ten different ways to Sunday. You see in the US we all must be skilled accountants on the side
Again, I apologize. I fear ya'll are going to get screwed the worst - hope I'm wrong.
What's the name of your tech store chain? Is it Best Buy? I know it's owned by Best Buy the company but forgot if it goes by another name or not.
That thing was dead on arrival with that 7" screen.
Yo that's crazy. I would hate not knowing exactly what I had to pay at checkout. I don't know how Americans deal with it
Tax free weekends? wtf. lol. I pay 7.75% on everything besides groceries.
All good, is what it is here. Honestly just wishing the best for you all right now. I'll just justify it as my Christmas gift to myself probably.
And I say 7.75% but if I drive 15 minutes in any direction it could be different lol
We don't deal with it well. Or I don't.
You would. not. believe. the shit we have to do come tax time, especially if you 'own' a business. Have only lost money on my solo studio so far, but the paperwork I have to sort through come tax time would blow your mind.
Now on top of all that we add tariffs that change weekly depending on the mood of the orange one.
Was butt hurt I paid $70 in tariffs for the A1X, now I'm thankful. What a shit show all this trade stuff has become.
This is where we reign supreme in MA, it's the perfect blend of what we do best, politicking and gumming up everything within the commonwealth. Tax free weekends happen some years, and not other years, it's pretty random... I'm pretty positive it's based on the state's governing body's fiscal office, if they clear a certain budget in certain areas they kick off a tax free weekend. ... but announce it, like what, sixty days before or something? 30 days? A week? I never know. If it happens I find myself on the weekend (and sometimes not knowing we had one entirely) finding out it's tax free.
...and then! then! Each year it's different and there are allocations for multiple categories. Computers, up to x,xxxx dollars, dental hygiene, limitless [thank god, amirite?]. Clothing, up from the aparent 175 to 2,2k or something. It's nonsensical, confusing and so damn aggrevating you just want to go back to the 6.25 percent or whatever it is that year.
What is even more knee slapping is that tax free weekends here was to encourage local business and what happens on tax free weekends? All the local businesses stop their sales and you end up paying more... so all of the economy we're trying to locally recycle just goes to Amazon and on-line retailers who don't care about the MA polotik
Don't get me wrong, I love Massachusetts very dearly. But we are an absurd and ridiculous people.
yeah best buy. I was able to get the first model of the legion go last year with an open box for about $700 CAD instead of like 900 or whatever it was, but stuff is so pricey here
I would not be surprised if the legion go 2 wound up pushing 1800-1900 CAD
I literally built my gaming rig for only a few hundred more
Just curious / you don't have to answer, but does your state have income tax? MA's is 5%.
'cause 7.75% is the higher end, isn't it? Worked in GA/TN/VA/CT over the years but have always found MA the hardest to navigate tax wise. I am an idiot though, so taxes make me scratch my head more than most.
Personal opinion but I do not get this “premium” product excuse people are running with
Yeah I think I pay around 9%. Depends on your income
CA ain’t cheap
Oh yeah, if anyone beats us, it's ya'll.
My father's side of the family is all CA.
Yeah $1350 for z2e, $1480 for 2 tb version
fun times
We say that but BB already sold out on their first batch soooo 🤷
Apparently no one wants the 16GB/Z2 version at $1100. But that's definitely no big surprise.
Yea compared to the S at 820 you're really paying hundreds mainly for that OLED.
And for some dumb reason they made that model of the Legion Go 2 have 16GB of RAM instead of the 32GB that the Z1E Go S has. That's probably the biggest "WTF" I have about the whole Legion Go 2 release.
Wanna upgrade to an 8.8" OLED? Gotta downgrade first for not paying up enough. 😂 But agreed, that model only makes sense in a non-Legio S world.
It's like Lenovo forgot to research its own current product line before making this release - let alone what competitors might bring to the table.
Wouldn't be the first time tbh, the Legion Go S Z2go 32gb windows version was terrible
It’s like the Z1 Legion Go, it exists simply to sell the upgrade
It's actually not bad if you got it at the under-$500 price that it's been at a few times.
Right, but it retailed at $730
Yeah it missed the mark on price, but it’s not bad if you play Steam deck tier stuff and streaming
I actually use my Z2G Go S more than my (Z1E) Ally. The screen is great and it's more comfortable.
Actually did they discontinue that sku? On best buy it only gives me open box options
Wouldn't surprise me if they did ... device definitely doesn't make much sense to try to sell for over 700 when the Z1E versions exist.
SteamOS Z2G variant makes more sense as an actual budget device.
Open box Z2G/32 at $692.99 is positively laughable, though. Best Buy will have those until the chain closes down unless they drop the price back down.
To be fair to Lenovo, the way AMD has priced the HX/Z2 chips is absurd for how little the gains are over the last generation.
10%-15% gains for double the price is absurd and price gouging at its finest.
I feel like Lenovo could have absorbed more of the cost and kept the Z2X version under $1000.
Since I can't actually preorder the Go 2 anymore, guess I'm just waiting to see what Microsoft/ASUS pricing will be now.
i have no idea how any vendor releases any x86 gaming device with less than 32gb ram in 2025
It uses expensive parts and it costs more 🤷♂️
It's like any tech, you want a high end TV, you have to pay. You want a top gpu, you have to pay.
You want an OLED+VRR 8.8" 144Hz/32GB RAM, you have to pay.
The difference for most will be minor. And that's fine, there are other options.
it would be the pro gamer move
(literally)
A hellcat isn’t a premium car, it’s built the same way as the v6 challenger with some upgrades.
A premium car is an AMG or M car.
The Z2E isn’t a premium chip, it’s just the new model of what they sold last year.
The OLED VRR is the only real higher end component
Jokes on you, I don't know what any of those things are
The detachable controllers and highly clocked 32gb ram are also part of it.
lenovo doesn't decide on the chip prices
Alright so this is a bust, when can I buy the controllers individually though
Go 1 dpad is kind of ass
Knowing them it'll be like $200 or more
I was never gonna buy Go 2, just let me buy the damn controller already
Still sold out. So wouldnt say dead in water
Some people out there willing to pay
premium should be limited
ragebait?
its fact
if its too available, it doesnt feel like premium
look at switch 2
you can get it anywhere
Win 5 vs Go 2 size comparison
Oh boy!!!
10% site works!!! Time to buy!!!
£1,099 Inc taxes and stuff isn't awful for what it is, I was expecting more.
Makes it the cheapest way to get a z2e/hx370 in the UK, at least until the Xbox Ally X shows up (maybe).
The z2 version is still bad value though
Yeaaaaahhh booooiiiii!
@spark robin Thanks again for the heads up 🙏😍
Dare i spend more money
If you can get the 10% hell yeah
Ooh
Yeah i can
@gritty oracle your fault. I have now dropped over £1500 on handhelds in less than 24 hours 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bad influence
so you got the Legion Go Gen2 and Odin 3, neat 😂
Oled goodness
I will just stream to my Portal or turn on the TV, who leaves the house with a 8.8" device
Release date is 12th Sept for UK and EU 😅
Ooh wonder if it'll get delivered same day...
Since i ordered they adjusted price by £1 😅 mine was £1,100 in the cart. Now its £1,099 🤣
Minus the 10% of course haha
you got robbed 😂
😅 guess £1 is the price i pay for rushing to order
Where you seeing this sorry?
I'll take the 512 GB SSD Z2 Extreme, with the LeGo 1 512 were sufficient soo.. 1000£ equals 1150€, so not bad
Game spain store
Maybe I could alao gain a discount somewhere
If you know anyone who is a teacher/uni student or works for emergency services
They should all have a link you can use to checkout as a guest
Or some jobs have a work benefits deal and have a special link also
should cinch the battery onto the win5 for that comparison
Thanks a lot
what is the 10% code?
It's not a code, it's their Rewards Store that you access via a link from your workplace, if they offer such things
only for employee ?
Yeah for mine at least, you get a link from your work to register with this rewards website that offers loads of diff stuff, and one of those things is a link to the Lenovo Rewards store
Sounds like some professions offers guest links too tho #1317213212239859733 message
lol ok
Why is there so little Legion Go 2 content on YouTube 😭 I wanna watch Russ and The Phawx play with it
It's not out in the US for more than a month and it can't even be preordered - so not a whole lot of incentive to get units out to the US-based advertisers?
Lenovo or never in a rush to get units out. This is just a sub laptop division to them, the units are out when they are out.
The pre-orders sold out didn't they?
But yeah I get what ya mean... Maybe that's why Tech Chap (UK) was one of the few to get an actual unit
They are currently "sold out" on Best Buy's site (the only option at the moment, since Lenovo themselves don't even have them up. Well, unless someone wants to order the $1100 Z2 with 16GB of RAM option - US people can still preorder that at Best Buy.
Wonder how many preorders Best Buy even took...
At least 12
The almost $1500 US (with tax) price of entry for the Go 2 has made me more interested in what Microsoft/ASUS is cooking. Sure, it's not OLED but at least ASUS knows how to do driver releases - a skill which seems beyond Lenovo's abilities.
You're not wrong but admittedly once you game on a 8+" screen it's hard to go back to 7"
I'm deffo interested in seeing what Microsoft has cooked up with the handheld-specifc Windows they're putting on the Xbox Ally devices
But yeah 7" 16:9... No OLED... It's just not good enough anymore
I wonder what the cost difference would be if the Lego 2 offered a Z2E with an IPS screen though.
I'm sure we'll find out with a z2e legion go S in 6 months or something.
xbox ally price
we know oled is premium
Watch it outperform the LeGo out of the gate.
OLED is amazing but I may be in the minority where it's not a must for me. Screen size and vrr is something I'd put over.
Does the Z2E still rely on driver updates from the vendor like the Z1 chips and the Z2G?
That would be amazing
I heard that on the Go 2. Its not lenovo providing the driver updates anymore. So no issues like gen 1
Pretty sure they mentioned this on a livestream
You prob know, but the LeGo 2 has a VRR windows of 30hz-144hz, way better than the usual 48hz starting point of other handheld VRR displays
Oh for sure. The screen is a beast, OLED aside.
OLED, 8.8", 16:10, and a crazy VRR window... When all this started dawning on me, the more I understood the price. Still can't believe I bought it lol but oh well
Yeah. Honestly the price makes sense. People said she same thing about the switch 2 and will say the same for the rog ally Xbox x regardless of what it costs. Nice things cost money, plain and simple.
You made the right choice 🫠 now enjoy that buttery oled screen
Maybe try this code?
thanks i am good
Agreed, but even Microsoft is tentatively expecting end of Q1 - Q2 2026 for the Xbox Full Screen deployed to the LeGo 2. I'd want the extra performance gained from that so will wait at least until then with hopes that prices go on sale and/or second hand units.
Oh deffo the smart move. I just got caught up in the hype lol, with the 10% work discount pushing me over the edge
I can bet the moment that asus handhelds go on sale. An image of the xbox mode will be made unofficially
More power to you! Looking forward to everyone's initial impressions. I'm mostly local gamestreaming at home anyways so I'm willing to wait. Or blow all my money on that OXP Super X instead.
Gotta say a strong start with those Spain coupon codes 😅.
Shame they don’t offer it on Lenovo site over there to make use of potential coupon codes
Okay, so I've looked at some of the EU listings - the Z2 (aka Z1E) model of the Go 2 is listed over there as 32GB of RAM. The Z2 model at Best Buy is listed at 16GB of RAM - for $1100. Is that actually correct and they're seriously trying to release their expensive next-gen handheld with only 16GB of RAM?
Sure seems like it 😅 No cost too high for oled apparently
... because 16GB makes no fucking sense at all.
They will push it and see.
So far the other two Z2E devices are coming in at the $1k ballpark so the difference really is just the display
"but muh steam deck, bro"
The eu/uk variants are different(more options?) it seems. Theres a 512gb z2e for cheaper and a 32gb z2 i guess?
They did this stuff with the last two models also, different SKUs in different markets. Makes it quite confusing.
To be fair, you can buy two new OLED Decks from Valve for the price of that 16GB Go 2 variant.
Looking on the Lenovo Spain site, there appears to be no way to get a Legion Go 2 - whatever the processor - with less than 32GB of RAM.
With zero detachable controllers. Honestly I find that feature a gimmick for me personally.
I sent a question in to Best Buy about the RAM size. We'll see if a "Lenovo product expert" answers it.
But with three more trackpads. 🙃
I didn’t think I’d use the detachable controllers but they grew on me. Sometimes I’d lay down with the go on my chest and hands at my sides. Just depends on how/where you use it.
It was good marketing with the "mod" creator feature. The guy using the controllers on the treadmill gave me some ideas 👌
I've used the (OG Go) detachables on occasion with a third-party clip to hook them into a single "controller" and I've dabbled with FPS mode. They're nice to have sometimes, but I don't consider them a make or break feature.
Right now they're in the case while I'm using a Gamesir G7 Pro with my docked Go.
how much is the 32gb ram sku of the xbox ally X
only 24gb ram sadly
I guess they figured 24 worked well with the Ally X and that's what they're going to go with to cut costs.
I think the base model is only 16 which is a trap
makes the LeGo look really expensive but it's not the 'real' base model worth buying
What I don't get with the new Allys is that no one is going to buy a new Ally that's worse than the first one. Or they'll just return it.
Unless that 16GB Z2A Ally variant is super cheap and mainly meant for game streaming, who's going to buy it?
I mean the 16gb z2a one is basically a steam deck
people would buy xbox ally x
if it's price competitive with the steam deck it'll sell to people who are scared of linux
but if the price is over 1k, they are likely to buy go 2
I mean, if Z2A is under $500 it'll likely sell ... but I wonder how likely that is. Definitely looks cut down compared to the original Ally. $549 Deck OLED is going to be hard for this thing to beat.
this sku is pretty much doa
ran worse than og ally minus grip
Xbox Ally z2a will probably have a high return rate, just like the original Ally. Possibly worse when Xbox bros buy it and realize it doesn’t play Xbox games.
better alternative than portal
Cancelled my 1TB £990 order. Realised I could save £90 by changing to a 512GB SSD, and there's no way a 1TB SSD is worth £90 these days. I would definitely be looking to upgrade to 2TB minimum anyway, so thought best to just cancel and reorder the 512GB model. Hopefully this doesn't mean I get mine much later than I would have!
Yeah i did the same and changed mine to 512gb. Saw others commenting on it. Very well hidden admittedly under the config page. I have a 1tb ssd laying around somewhere. So i will just swap it out
Imagine they have stock of 512gb. They just dont want to advertise it and upsell
Nice! I kept the £10 65w charger even though I don't need it lol. I saw a video showing that it charged at like 93w, so it's kinda disappointing they only offer a 65w one. I'll just use my Ugreen 100w charger
Fingers crossed!
Yeah. I kept charger. £10 aint too bad in grand scheme of things.
I remember Kei doing a good video on SSDs and the power they consume. https://youtu.be/Vh8BM-JIw7g?si=l6NIYtanheGr2R4S
Does your SSD kill your X86 handheld battery? The results might surprise you! Lets dive in and take a look at what your SSD actually does to your battery in your handheld.

I've got a 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus doing nothing, but do I really want to go back to a Gen 3 drive... Maybe it won't really matter in real world boot times and load times
Nice!
In UK at least we have the option to go charger less too for another £10 saving
🤷🏻♂️ it is what it is
But yeah 512gb is fine tbh
Is that still with 32GB RAM?
yess
It has a working sd card reader. So can’t ask for more 😅
I got the Z2E 32GB/1T for SGD 1324 (USD 1030/£760) with cashback. You might want to think about canceling and reordering with cashback?
same what i paid
But you said you have the 512 model?
yes i dont have cashback though
just coupon
i will replace ssd anyway if i go with 1tb
i have 4tb from my previous claw 8
Perfectly agree, I ordered directly with 512 GB SSD
Because i know that I could find a 1TB SSD for less than 100€, and 512 GB it's sufficient for me
I already found a Kingston 1TB SSD 2280 for like 60€
Lol
I'm eyeing up a Lexar NM790 from this video #1317213212239859733 message ... But I already have a spare 2TB NVME... But it's only Gen 3... But realistically does that matter in terms of boot times and game loading... Argh
I kinda don't wanna get a modern, brand spankers device and put a Gen 3 SSD in it lol
why not 2tb?
Do you mean why aren't I using the 2TB drive I already have? It's just old - Gen 3 speeds. I'll deffo be upgrading to either a 2TB or 4TB though. CEX (second hand electronics shop in the UK) have a 4TB Lexar NM790 for £160 and that's looking pretty temptin'...
Remember to disinfect it when it arrives from CEX 🤣🤣🤣
I just tried to think the thought "maybe 512GB is enough" but my brain wouldn't even let me finish the sentence lol
Smaller SSD is better, less choice paralysis, less playing AAA bloated slop
Spent the last week playing a custom fan game of final fantasy 1 with all new jobs, balancing, areas, etc and it's less than 300 MB. Hollow Knight Silk Song is like 7.5 GB or something. As long as you don't play bloat, it's all good.
I'll have to live through you all in this one i think 😄
I play retro games principally, 512 gb is enough ahhaha
If you use Steam/cloud saves/etc., then slimming down the "modern" games you have installed directly is pretty easy. My PS2 collection probably takes up more space than anything else on my Go S.
You can convert the PS2 games from iso to chd format
I did this to my collection and I saved up some GBs

You really won't notice much difference in practical use on a good gen 3 drive. Boot times and load speeds on games should be within a second difference if that compared to a gen 4 nvme.
Yeah, you're right. Nice one!
Actually think about this for my win 4 😅
Its a cool little battery bank
Do they feel better than the original with comfort grips though
The new controllers still look a little narrow
for sure
you dont need extra grip anymore
The same channel that did those shorts did this video too. Watch from 7:10-10:30 for a fairly glowing review of the ergonomics and quality of the new controllers
In this video Adam talks about his hands on time with the Lenovo Legion Go 2, including comparing it to the orginal.

Still butt hurt the legion go s didn't receive a case bag. Not even for the Z1E edition.
They're in CHD format already. I just have my whole physical collection ripped and available - and that's a good number of GB.
You have to go "premium" for that. Like a Legion Go 2. Or a Steam Deck.
you're not wrong, apparently nearly $1k MSRP for the Z1E edition is not premium enough to Lenovo 😂
Does the Go 2 come with a case in the box?
I remember I hated mine. Biggest bulkiest thing I’ve ever used
they have a nice soft bag for the Go S though
Thats what comes with go 2. The soft case
Same case i believe
For $1350 it better
Yeah it does 👍
It mentioned free case during checkout + seen unboxings and its that same case
opted for a $10-12 generic large handheld case from aliexpress that does the trick for me... $25 for the lenovo one, i'll pass
iphone 17 pro max or go2?

I had the go s soft bag with a go s for a minute.. it's... ok. Doesn't really offer protection from joysticks being pressed/moved and such though.
That's why I'll buy asap a hard case for the Go 2
With the spot for the charger would be damn good
anyone getting iphone 17 pro max?
I'll be on my pixel 7a until it dies
Germany prices:
how about people complaining about go 2 price
For the €1299 model, you should be able to spec it with a 512GB SSD to save ~€100
ye you can also skip the charger for 10€
but its still way to expensive
if I pay that much money I expect 385/395 performance
There's some ways to save 10%. A few of us in here got that through our workplaces, but I've seen on Reddit there's some codes too - I think even one specifically for Germany
The price is high yeah, but once you realise it's a 8.8" OLED, 16:10 1200p, not only with VRR, but a VRR window that starts as low as 30hz (most start at 48hz), the price starts to sorta make sense
all of this doesent matter because the cpu is weak af
the oled panel is not gonna give me more fps in higher quality games
The VRR window starting at 30hz will make your games feel nicer and smoother
But yeah if that doesn't matter to you and instead your value raw power more, it's not the device for you, that's valid
even with z2 version its great
I need to see someone playing poe 2 on this thing with medium/high settings at minimum stable 60 fps during intense situations
as long you get 32gb ram
i dont have poe
I watched the msi claw ai 8 videos and saw how it dropped to 15 fps sometimes thats crazy
I suspect you are severely underestimating how much those handhelds cost.
That's fair. $1,000+ devices are not the best buy for everyone.
I have no problem spending 1-2k on these kind of devices but if the performance is not similar to a laptop or pc I wont spend that money that simple
The 395 is similar to a pretty average gaming laptop.
395 is 4060-4070 laptop performance, which is worth 1.5k-1.8k max and not 2.4k lol
The nature of this stuff is it gets more expensive as it gets smaller.
If you want a handheld to have the same performance as a laptop at a similar cost, you will never buy a handheld.
And a pre-built desktop is way cheaper, and building your own desktop is way cheaper, these are different things
well since I rly only play poe 2 I can just wait, the game is already out and the chips will only get better in the future
A handheld is never going to be the same price as a laptop
I would build my own handheld, but I dont know how to get only a 395chip with a custom motherboard
If i had the money, i would be sadly im poor 😅
Go 2 more important to me. Still using 13PM
https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/pkLm4sJb6q
Someone on Reddit asked Lenovo UK over WhatsApp what the release date would be, and they said it would ship on or before 16th Sep
Could just be a chatbot reading back the 6-9 shipping time thing tho
It's so strange that they can't just tell us when it'll ship. They couldn't give any concrete info in the stream yesterday either
Game (yes they still exist) in spain has the release date as Sept 12th 🤷🏻♂️ so who knows
Ooh you're right!
A Lenovo handheld is never late, nor is it ever early, it arrives precisely when it means to.
Wish I could pay them whenever I precisely mean to
mine is shipped on 19th
When will a Lenovo legion go s 2 drop? 🤯
When Go 2 sales slow to a crawl
Delusional comment from him
Ofc I am going to spend more money on something that 1: I always have with me 2: is essential to living at this point 3: is critical to my functionality as an adult (paying bills, monitoring emails since nothing comes snail mail anymore etc).
Well, if you get the 16GB version, you might be. Thankfully, people are NOT preordering that SKU. Still available. I wonder if they've even sold one that someone didn't get by mistake thinking they were getting the real deal.
Ha! They answered me on Best Buy! "Is the RAM size an error in the Best Buy listing, or does this premium handheld really only have 16GB RAM?
Hi ChemicalBurrito, This Legion Go 2 offering does feature 16GB of memory. There will be several configurations of the Legion Go 2 to meet the needs of various users. Please feel free to reach out to us with any other questions!
Answered 21 hours ago by Lenovo Product Expert"
What is this, RAM for ants?!
Do you guys not have RAM?
16gb is actually fine for the vast majority of games out there, it's just some AAA that may need a bit more, depending on settings. But it's only a z2, so you probably won't be pushing settings much on those games anyhow.
That said, the price difference between 16gb and 32gb is so minor, it's clearly just there to lower the starting price, and it is a terrible deal.
Is a bit of a lack of accessories at the moment. Only screen protectors for this are 3rd party and about £50. It is still 8.8 i think. So will use OG Go screen protector 🤷🏻♂️
There's a bit of debate about that.
Specs of the screen are the same, so probably.
But we know the Lego 2 is taller than the Lego 1, and there doesn't seem to be extra bezel.
So..... something isn't right.
the backside of controller has grippy texture
I am not sure i can raw dog it. So i will just use an OG Go one till more come to market for the 2
What i want is this
😅
I love using it for tate mode
Yeah, it's strange, like why wasn't Lenovo shoving a load of accessories in my face at checkout lol. I would have deffo added a screen protector to my order at least
Same 🤷🏻♂️
I wish i was dead
Took them a year just to make an official connector for the controllers
Lord
https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/p/accessories-and-software/cases-and-bags/backpacks/gx41s14777
this is the only “legion go 2” accessory they offer at the moment
you dont need another grip case to add weight lol
i hope dbrand never consider it
but i am wrong, they make dbrand xbox ally
Lol that's crazy. If you go to your order and click "Find Compatible Accessories", it doesn't even show that, just two headphones
Yeah, Lenovo are not great at up selling.
That i do want. Looks sick
I want it for my win 4 😅
Agreed 100%. This outrage about 16GB of ram is dumb on the non E model.
That said, it’s $1000 and Z1E handhelds are readily available brand new for $500-$800 or used for $350-$500 with 16 or 32GB so it’s a little cheap on their part lol
too big
Ahh :/ maybe my rog ally then
You should sell some devices dude lol
For $1100, it should have at minimum 24GB. At 16GB, it's just a really really expensive first generation Legion Go with a nicer screen.
Haha i have over 100 handhelds. When i sell them more come in 😅
Hell, if they wanted to cheap out, keep the 32GB of RAM and use a 512GB SSD. That is at least a user-replacable part and doesn't gimp the device compared to their "budget" Z1E Legion Go S.
Yeah the price is the issue, not really the 16GB
Haha yeah. After Zu made his video about enjoying the handhelds you own, and his "it's not a collector's market" line, it inspired me to reduce my collection a bit. Looking at my eBay sold list... I've got rid of about 55 handhelds 😬
or maybe i should buy lol
Yeah. I think now i have Go 2 on way. I will start selling majority. Will probs be happy with just this and Odin 3
It's such a bloody effort listing stuff man, packaging it up, dealing with people asking what games are on them etc
I learnt quickly that it's way better just factory resetting and telling people there's no games
One I'd never get rid of is the CubeXX, that's hands down my fav way to play GB/GBC. I'd love Anbernic to do an OLED version of it tho with the RP Classic's screen
this go 2 is kinda excessive
Hell yeah I did, a dual-screen emulation device is something I've been wanting for years
Hate playing DS/3DS on one screen
i am not into emulation
Oh lol
Yeah why on earth would you be interested in the Thor if not for 3DS emulation
Yeah fair enough, the top screen will only be 60hz if you use both at the same time tho
The beauty of streaming is dat 120fps goodness
Yeah but the Thor's bottom screen is basically a square
So putting the Wii U gamepad down there, it being 16:9, it's gonna look bad
That's how 16:9 stuff will look on the Thor's bottom screen
Yeah they should be perfect on the Thor
Goomba fallacy
Cemu on Android sucks right now.
No-where near the x86 version.
PSP for ants.
yeah, it wont be a wii u machine that's for sure
thor 2 could be if they really get that mortgage screen though
Full list of games on the Wii U worth playing that use the second screen well -
....
....
....
No games worth playing
Reviewers are forced to use that starfox game that no-one liked
Nah man Tokyo Mirage Sessions was excellent and used the bottom screen well!
there's lego city undercover, zombie u, nintendo land
UK - Very's saying delivery on Thurs 25th Sep
Hope Lenovo's "6-9 days" isn't just some kinda placeholder 😭
Meanwhile waiting for Halloween over on this side of the pond...
We'll be over here like all right Derek bruv it's Chewsday you wanna see my Legion Go 2?

in germany it says the same but when you put it in your cart and try to order it sayxs 24.9-26.9
Lenovo must be tired of America. No Legion Go 2 Z2E stock and an attempt to sell an $1100 last-gen handheld with improved screen - that won't even be out until presumably after Asus drops the XAX.
they got it pretty late
😂
And… still no news for Mexico, cool
None for Canada either
Gutted! I just added one to my cart on the UK site and it still says 6-9 days 🤔
@upper halo maybe make a keyboard and you might win one 😅

If he wins again, I’ll know it’s rigged for sure
I just saw on Reddit people saying if you go to checkout on Very, it says 17th September.
Tried myself and they're right
And instead of saying 24th Sep on the main Very listing now, it just says "In Stock"
Lenovo UK site still says 6-9 days, both for new orders and when I check my existing one
So essentially it may arrive between next week and 31st Sept 🤣🤣 this is all over the place
nope mine is 19th
What's Spanish for "doomed"?
Was good while it lasted. Least order is in though
Lenovo hasn’t officially said a release date yet. So im assuming everyone is guessing at the moment
@plush acorn is sat there like….
Lenovo just want the chaos
💯
Chaos = hype = free marketing
Bad news is still news
It's simple maths
Or math if you're in the US and not getting your Legion Go 2 'til Halloween
The analogue pocket strat. Pretend there is low stock/delays to send people in frenzy
Probs why its “sold out” on bestbuy
Don’t get me wrong though, its working as i want mine now!!! 🤣

it worked on me, still regret not getting the metallic ones when they released them. Oh well
Meanwhile, me just sitting there waiting for the usual Lenovo "deep discount after a random period of time"
Did they say if this generation added an active stylus digitizer? Would be nice to use this as my tablet
Smart. Sensible. But have you considered giving yourself into rampant launch hype?
Nah; I usually just wait for the bugs to get ironed out
Respect tbf
(Also, I usually wait for holiday shopping season)
Could backfire. If people want a "next gen" handheld, all Asus has to do is go ahead and open preorders for the XAX in the US. Especially if it comes in at or under the cost of the gimped 16G/Z2 Legion Go 2 that Lenovo and Best Buy are trying to push.
the 7" screen is likely not a issue for most people but when you've gamed on an 8" device it changes you
The cheaper Z2E xbox ally x ($899 rumored) is also gimped by 16GB 😭
You can go from 7 to 8.8 inches, but I challenge you to do the opposite thing lol
Well it comes with a case already mate 😂
you're assuming Petey knows how to save money 😄
This is an understatement 😅
Now i get to advertise to everyone on the streets that I have a legion go 🤣😅 in reality. i watched a review and it actually looks like a decent bag. So might use it for work
Ooo a shipping estimate on the go 2 🤔
same!
22nd is ages away tho so i hope it's wrong lol
Still says 6-9 days if you try a new order... They sit on a throne of lies
Lol it's sold out now
Clearly i bought the only one 😅🤣
Did you do the Lenovo Rewards thing? I've got £45 pending and was thinking of getting some accessories with that eventually
Ooo no how do i do that?
Oh i dunno, it was an option during checkout
Probably gives them access to all your data and the rights to your likeness for 1,000 years
I managed to find it. But only £4 as did it after purchases! Doh!
@grizzled trail now only 1 config of regular z2 🤔
Ah, well: #1317213212239859733 message
Pretty sure they had a 2tb z2 (non extreme) but thats now gone
Oh, I thought there was a 512GB £810 one (on the 10% off Rewards store)
Which yeah, is gone. Looks like you can spec the £900 one with a 512GB and bring it down to £810 still though
Still think its a tiny bit dodgy hiding the 512gb under the config area
Yeah deffo
-11 days to go
Well since Lenovo can't be bothered to get Go 2's to the US, I guess I'm just playing Borderlands 4 on the Go 1.
Just gimme the gahdayum controllers, Lenovo!
Good luck. I hear it’s horribly optimized.
Oof
Apparently it runs ok.
If you have a 5090
A guy from Poland has had his delivered
lenovo are lying about hdr spec
@grizzled trail https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/J02SQH3vcT
Very is dispatching apparently 🤷🏻♂️
Too lazy to change order now. But i think they are out of stock anyway
Yeah plus the Very 10% off is only if you put it on credit
Deffo not changing mine, it'll get here eventually
You gonna elaborate or nah lol
yep
The answer seems strange. Surely they're not using a diff panel between US and EU/UK!?
Has he refused on the streams?
I need to know what this deleted comment was lol
if its real
uk and other region gets downgraded display
on us site, it is said hdr1000
Hmm so both say 500 nits, but the "True Black" rating is diff between US and UK
did lenovo lie?
US says "VESA True Black", UK says "HDR True Black" - maybe they're diff things, diff ways of measuring stuff in diff countries
That sounds like some third party thing either way. Lenovo have said 500 nits consistently
hdr1000 means you can get 1000 nits when hdr enabled
Strange, cause yeah even on that US listing you can see they say it's 500 nits
Oh is that what they mean there
Time to riot in the most british way possible
Going to write them a letter and say I'm bloody well miffed
premium price!!
So, one reviewer has tested it and found that the SDR is 450 nits, full-screen HDR is 650 nits, and the peak brightness for HDR in a small window is over 1000 nits
I'm not sure how VESA tested it, but maybe they didn't quite hit the True Black 1000 specs, so they decided to relabel it as True Black 600 to play safe
what is difference on full screen hdr and window?
See my 2nd and 3rd screenshots above
so we wont able to get 1000nits on fullscreen ?
Definitely not...when you see any marketing material claiming over 1000 nits peak brightness, it's usually referring to the brightness in a small center window
Gonna need them headphones
The 6-9 days has changed to 2-3 weeks! Lenovo gave all their stock to Very
Eeekk maybe oct 31st it is 😅
Taken from a guy on a legion go discord -
Screen protectors, definate different size
Go 1 204mm x 125mm ( https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories/acc500355-lenovo-legion-go-screen-protector-overview-and-service-parts (Lenovo says 2041250.45mm for the go 1)
Go 2 200mm x 131.9mm (based on a photo with a ruler so take with a grain of salt) https://psref.lenovo.com/accessory/GXJ1R97823?tab=Specifications (Lenovo says 200.00 x 131.90 mm x0.33)
Ah interesting! Hopefully Lenovo list some official screen protectors on their site soon
Me too. 3rd party ones on amazon are like £50 atm. I also don’t want to raw dog it
Must protect that screen!
Jesus!!
I like to add them to AliExpress orders to get to the next coupon price
But yeah I'd rather have one ready to go soon as i get it...
Ooo link please 😬
Even if it doesnt work. Still not a bad risk for that price
i’ll get 3pcs lol
Found it
https://a.aliexpress.com/_Ex3xRfU
Ordered 3 🤷🏻♂️
Thank you kindly. Yeah i just ordered three. YOLO
So got case, sling and screen protectors now. Just need some skull n co caps and im golden
I use some of those on my Switch 2 and love them! Deffo interested in getting some for this too
I mean the one it comes with 😅
But would prefer a hard one
I have some xbox ones ready. Pretty sure they will work
Oh I thought the Legion Go/S/2's sticks were like slightly smaller
Ahhh guess i will see. Thankfully they are some i bought ages ago for another handheld and never used. So no big loss
I've got an S... I could check right now lol
Got some standard thumbstick caps. They fit on an Xbox One controller and the Legion Go S fine. Very slightly looser on the S compared to the Xbox controller, but not like it's gonna spin around while you're using it
😂 i cant wait for mine
Awesome! Thanks for trying! Will use those till some official ones come out
although i am playing it with demo unit
Actually, the apparent "looseness" is cause the xbox stick's are textured/rubberised on edges more than the S. I reckon they're the same size
You lot are crazy buying those screen protectors - no free shipping!!
i have 3 go2. need protection
Still cheaper than amazon ones i have seen which are £50 for 1 😅
Ah my apologies there are 2x…so £25 per protector 🤣
Blimey
christ
you guys use screen protectors?
They figure you all are buying the super-expensive handheld, you will also pay a premium for the screen protector.
i'm afraid of spending money on these only to screw it up and be reminded of it whenever i look at my handheld
The technique is to run a hot shower and let the steam get rid of the dust in the air, or stop it from settling at least
Then yeah awkwardly apply the screen protector with your device on top of your toilet seat or whatever lol
It works!
i appreciate the advice, one day when i feel brave i'll attempt. Only did so for my analogue pocket and it's perhaps only a .25cm off of being spot-on centered 😂
I never actually put a screen protector on my original Legion Go. The Gorilla glass has held up fine.
It's not like I'm shoving that thing in a pocket, after all.
found the guy without the jnco jeans
Yeah, it's just y'know, accidents can happen at any time
nah i am with you... in fact I either keep them in compact cases or a plastic-box display with a stand
I work around technology. So i know what people can do to £1000’s devices. So i screen protector everything
Found your Legion Go ...
have one in our household, it has survived a lot
My kid had a PSP in one of these cases. You would not believe the abuse that thing survived.
i keep my PSP and PS Vita in those things still 😂
The DS Lite didn't survive, though. Ended up broken in half.
@versed goblet
Oh no! 🤦♂️
Lol Very is 13th nov
Think everyone pulled trigger a bit quick. Will leave order in, otherwise i will spend that money on other things and regret it
In good news screen protectors are on the way 😅
ouch
you should keep quiet on reddit

So what are we looking at here? Is that like 3D printed Go 2 controllers attached to a Go 1 screen or something?
Lol i thought yours was delayed 'til 22nd Sep
i had 2 engineering unit
Ahh
but i also order final unit
Nice work 💪
Lol just saw your Reddit post!
"This is where I'd place my Lego 2 if I had one!!!"
Yeah i think the case is disappointing compared to the last one
yeah its so cheap
Yeah. I will probs get a hard one of AliExpress tbh. Should fit same as GO S
But yes floppy one is not great
skull n co max carry fits
It’s insane to me how difficult it is for a company to say “device releases X day”
Does it fit all together or do you have to take controllers off?
fit all together
Do you have a pic? Im hovering over the buy button 🤣
later i ll share
Awesome thank you ❤️❤️❤️ just getting my go 2 pile ready
You say this should fit the LeGo 2?
Delusional?? People buy $1k phones to doom scroll. There are good enough phones for a few hundred bucks for that. It's kinda wild how people buy the newest Samsung or Apple phone every year and don't actually utilize their power at all.
That’s like saying people buy $1300 handheld PCs to emulate with. It’s just a fraction of their use case.
1: not everyone upgrades every year
2: even if you don’t use 100% of its maximum performance power you do still benefit from improvements like snappier responsiveness, better/brighter displays, faster charging tech, improved connectivity, better more flexible and capable cameras… I could go on.
Also “there are good enough phones for a few hundred bucks for that”
Well there are good enough handhelds for $200 that can emulate through PS2 and Switch
Lenovo doing the opposite strategy to Ayaneo.
Arthur gives you all the extras whether you want them or not
What do you mean you don't want 6 stick caps and some stickers???
I mean, that's fomo bait to get you to preorder the first week.
Ayaneo mugs for alL!
😬
VRR is not working as intended. If You enable VRR in windows settings for 144Hz, don't touch refresh rate settings or resolution setting in Legion side panel, or it will reset OS settings. Beside that, it's probably not working at all. In CP 2077, even at 60+ FPS - it's not smooth. I have VRR at my gaming desktop and I'm sure it's not working currently on legion. Might be related to point 2.
Some games don't run in full screen, Cp2077 and MGSV can only be run at Windowed and borderless. No fullscreen.
Other than the VRR comments mostly aligns with what I’d expect.
Might be a user error one off or driver issue (hopefully)
Dude does seem to know what he is doing though. It’s not a complete newbie
Would be something any half decent reviewer could validate easily.
But they didn’t sent those review samples
For US peeps, it's back up on pre-order at BB:
https://www.bestbuy.com/product/legion-go-2-8-8-144hz-2k-oled-gaming-handheld-amd-ryzen-z2-extreme-32gb-1tb-windows/JJGH3YZPLW
Cool thing is, if its not as expected. You actually have a return policy 😱
Although this will be overkill for me. Im just happy playing super hexagon on this bad boy
The point is, it's not a crazy take. Of course everyone is different but the average person buys the expensive phone and doesn't come anywhere near using it to it's full capability. At this point your phone being snappier is OS improvements. Also all that other tech can be on the more mid range phone.
Anyone can do what they want but it's funny how people can be hypocritical about something while doing the same thing in a different area.
not as of 10PM EDT. One guy must've canceled his preorder. 🤣
Not surprised, when I saw the post it was already 4 hrs old.
It’s been quite a bit of time now
nonsense, vrr works flawlessly on mine
It did show still available for a bit after your post but yeah gone again now.
899$ for xbox ally x. Lenovo is about to get fked xD
no price given
according to bb regional manager, its over 1k
A lot of people are making use of lenovos discounts at least in EU and UK. When it hits Lenovo US site. I wonder if the same can be done. Has the same email sign up section on US website
Good enough for me. Ordering now. Thank you for the pics 🫡
if you use another grip case it wont fit
better than what you got from lenovo lol
Probs wont put a grip case if ergo is ok as is. Seems to be what most people are saying at least. That ergo is vastly improved from Gen 1
100% hard shell def needed
More screen protector options just popped up
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EumobA2
Eh, I think the Xbox Ally X was always going to sell more than it, just with the "Xbox" branding alone
I think it's going to be partially X Bros misunderstanding that this isn't a portable Xbox console though.
Is anyone suspecting the Lego 2 being a handheld aimed at casuals? Always seen it as an enthusiasts handheld device.
Lol yeah, deffo gonna be a fair few returns
Oled over lcd anyday. Go has always been an enthusiasts device anyhow. Most people only went for OG go due to form factor. Me being one of those
Go 2 without joycon style controllers won't cost much less, bur lenovo could try 😁
Go S2 with just an oled upgrade would be nice, Z2E is underwhelming anyways.
Lenovos main thing is always having some top tier spec. So original go was the high resolution screen, this round is the oled vrr. I don’t doubt that the xbox ally will sell more overall and will aim to be the more affordable of the corpo x86’s. But lenovos trying to justify price with new bells and whistles.
Only underwhelming if you care about the top end. The efficiency gains are far more appealing then a few more FPS at 40w
Yeah the lower TDP gains Dave2D showed in his video looked great
The XAX will be the one reaping the efficiency benefits. though. Less power-hungry display, same chip.
(well, same plus an NPU for the XAX)
Honestly a Go S2 would be ideal with its smaller battery
I’m simply not interested in a 7” lcd handheld so the Xbox Ally X could be $500 and it still wouldn’t change my desire for go 2. For casuals yeah it’s a no brainer.
I occasionally use the joycons but a go s2 with OLED I would probably buy over go 2 if it meant saving significant money.
I have a Z1E go s on the way and plan doing some comparison vids between that and the go 2
I actually am also interested in a 7" PC handheld for portability, though. not sure how the XAX handles will affect that, but the Ally is way easier to pack than my Go or my Go S. Those usually stay at home.
That’s for the current Ally X
Thoughts on the OXP F1 Pro for your use case? Faster processor, OLED, 7". Can be had used for $900-1K with 32GB RAM vs XAX 24GB.
hows battery life compared to Ally X?
(I can accept the battery life of my OG Ally because it was $330... 🙃)
Have you considered doing the battery mod? Basically make it an Ally X
😔 it's one weak point
Somehow my Go S Z1E has a quiet fan
Actually impressed with it
Oh yeah? I sold my z2g version but picked up a used Z1E on the market here. Maybe just because it needs less juice to achieve the same results.
Even when doing windows installs it gets audible but not whiny like my Go S Z2G was
I may end up getting that JSAUX battery kit - looks simple enough to install and comes with everything.
If this is actually true, Lenovo had better open those LeGo 2 preorders back up before this drops: https://twistedvoxel.com/rog-xbox-ally-handhelds-price-revealed/
Neat but I'd place myself in the category of handheld gamer where I'd be willing to pay extra for a larger screen.
Yea, it doesn't change Lenovo's statement of the "enthusiast" buyer. if XBAX arrives at $900 it'll definitely take most of the mainstream high volume sales. Only pricing pressure for Lenovo seems to be if initial preorders don't sell out (which it is). Probably won't see Lenovo move from its price point until after 4Q if preorders keep selling out.
It’s shocking to me that people think preorders “selling out” for niche products means anything.
This is literally part of the script, drive sales through fomo by artificial demand
sssssh. Can't give away marketing secrets.
Save a little now to pay more later when you (or me in this case) sell it for a Lego 2 😂
The 🧠 play. XBX "loaner."
the 900 usd thing is probably for a gimped 16gb ram model
curious how much they charge for something actually matching the go gen 2 in specs
@grizzled trail https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/ujPgbxfChL
There is still hope. Some orders dispatching
I'm afraid I have betrayed you mate. I cancelled my preorder
24th October was just too far away, then I started thinking about how close to Christmas it was, and yeah sense kinda prevailed.
Hope yours ends up being one of these that's dispatching sooner!
Ahhh sorry mate 😫 hopefully they will ship soonish. Lets see what happens
xbox ally skip
Xbox Legion Go 2 X 👌
Not gonna lie... That pricing is actually... Way lower than I was prepared for...
Actually pretty decent
The silver lining in what is otherwise a fumbled handheld in the gpd win lineup 😂
Western prices are usually a lot more though.
A reminder that this was briefly on sale -
Back to reality 😄
https://wccftech.com/gpd-announces-official-msrp-for-win-5-handheld-starts-at-1400-dollars/
It's looking to be a bit cheaper. 385 yeah, but 1400 dollars, if not for that shit screen I'd get this crazy thing over the lego2
If they have a 395+ with 64gb of ram that is under 2k I may very well pick it up. Deal with the shitshow that is the battery... but that screen man, it's such a horrible, terrible fit. Get an 8 inch on it, make it OLED, it doesn't have to be VRR.
The battery solution is just too clumsy for me
I'm all for a 395+ handheld at some point, but this ain't it for me.
It would make some more sense in something the size of the Go. Kickstand it with the battery pack or use it handheld but tethered to the wall with like a 5AH battery pack on that is thin and just for quick plug moves
I am so glad the legion go 2 is releasing
finally legion go prices will start dropping down
Yup, rather wait it out for other companies to refine and improve upon this
I do want that to happen but considering the price difference, will they lower down? If it was a hundred or two more I'd agree but considering that's not the case I'm iffy about that happening
I'll probably be getting myself a go 1 for 400 dollars sometime in the future, I'm debating between this or a laptop I'm not sure which one is better.
I doubt the legion go price can drop much further.
Would the go at 15w tdp have a better battery life than the average laptop?
Black Friday or around the holidays I see them easily going for $100 less
No
anymore, and I dunno
go at 15w will last a couple hours
Well, I guess I don't know what you mean by 'average laptop'
For gaming laptops with a dedicated GPU, they aren't really meant to run on battery when using the dGPU
laptops exist with actual dedicated gpus?
yea, most 'gaming' laptops have mobile gpus
Usually you can also use the iGPU when on battery if you want, and then the drain would be similar to legion go, so just depends on the battery size of the laptop
anything gtx 1050 and stronger I would consider a gaming laptop
Laptops will probably get longer battery life doing casual non-gaming tasks. In a game with iGPU they might last longer since many have ~70wh batteries where the og legion go has a 49wh battery.
If you're savvy you can upgrade the battery on the legion go 1 to 70+ wh though
Of course a gaming laptop with dGPU, when plugged in, will run circles around any gaming handheld in performance.
(except maybe the ai 395+)
The original Legion Go's already been $499 new. Probably isn't going to get all THAT much cheaper new than that. The original MSI Claw (that nobody wanted anyway) managed to make it to $389, so that's probably the floor.
my first laptop with a dedicated mobile gpu was a 1050.... it served its purpose
perfect as a ps2/gamecube device on the big screen
would love something like that for like 150 dollars
My birthday is in October, so there's my present.
nicee
this thing is worth the money and not the lego 2. I hope ayaneo also soon releases more info for the next 2
I’m definitely curious about the next 2 at this point as it’ll be acting as a laptop replacement
Time for my monthly quota to remind you there's always slapping a G8 extension mod behind the Super X
. Breaking your wrists is a minor sacrifice.
A bit of an outlier, but that Target stock clearance did drop to $350 months ago.
Just carry one of these around:
Reddit isn’t holding back
At least drivers should better this time around
@upper halo 🤦♂️
3rd party it is
Good day to make popcorn and read through that.
Yep! 😅
Go 2 controllers on Go 1
Vice versa
Last one for lolz
Ironically, they make a premium handheld but leave money on the table by NOT making any accessories for it.
You can’t write this stuff 🤣😅
The dream
They clearly know this is what people want 🤦♂️
It's what I want, at least. Got a great deal on the Go 1, already upgraded battery and storage, just need those controllers and I will be set for almost 1/3 the price of the Go 2
I see some wisdom here for a larger company like Lenovo. Everything has to meet a certain % profit and raw sales or it won't get greenlit. Let the botique Chinese shops pave the way like GPD/Ayaneo/OXP and then stitch together the best ideas for mass consumers (while still raking in the $).
Did anybody ask when the effing controllers will be available?
I don’t like their use of the word “embargo”. Makes it sound like they will have them before then but won’t ship until that date for whatever reason which is annoying.
Maybe they will drop preorder price after Xbox Ally releases to try and compete with it so we will get charged less since we don’t get charged until ship…easier than processing mass refunds.
did anyone ask how much cheaper it will be in canada to reflect that we aren't putting dumb extra tariffs on it?
or were they just gonna pocket that and hope canadians don't notice they're getting ripped off
I love this since a big problem with the original Go's configuration was that Lenovo had screwed up equalizer settings and you could make the device sound a lot better by simply turning that off. (Mind you it still wasn't GOOD, but it was at least passable without the boneheaded eq settings Lenovo used...)
I think that’s what they’re doing on purpose so they have stock to fulfill most preorders all at once instead of trickling in.
Honestly, I don't have a problem with them getting them all out on a defined day. Unlike half the niche Chinese handheld companies that "start" shipping on the release day but it might be weeks before yours gets shipped.

From what I have seen on reddit. Sounds like the ones that have already been dispatched have shipped from China rather than local warehouses.
i just have a rant with customer support
basically you cant cancel it
please wait
Doh! I still want this. So i am willing to wait. But yeah. Not ideal with the constant date changes. Esp from a corpo. Can accept this from smaller companies
Lol I guess one of those Very customers has realised just how rare of an item they have
Supply and demand 🫠
Indeed! Although just cause it's listed at that price doesn't mean it'll sell
One sold listing, not as bad but still way too high
A bunch more of the parts came into stock recently. Maybe we will actually be able to buy the controllers soon! https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/legion-series/legion-go-8asp2/83n0/parts/display/compatible
$80! Still better than I expected! https://smartfind.lenovo.com/accessories/#/products/GXH1T52710
The right side is more expensive? I guess it has the trackpad but still weird
Well it has the trackpad, the scroll wheel, and the mouse optics.
The left side is just joystick, dpad, and buttons. No special functions.
Now if I could just order the goddamn things
It's so slow for them to update their systems. Even on the phone, they don't have those part #s in their internal systems yet.
Right side was more expensive for go 1 also because the mouse stuff presumably.
Yeah optical sensor on bottom of right and trackpad probs bump up the price
Looks like a reasonable review:
Basically confirms what we already know
Nice to hear fan noise is well controlled
Someone else said it’s super loud and seeing that I’ve had two Go S models and one was loud and one isn’t, I wonder if there are two different fan suppliers or something
That redditor isn't wrong about the minimal performance games for such large price gap. Also I get that the price comes with the screen they went with but the Z2E doesn't warrant the upcharge attached to it.
The efficiency gains down low are worth it for me though
If a decently priced Go S 2 comes with the Z2E I’ll jump immediately
$1.4k for low wattage gaming doesn't seem appealing to me but I understand that provides longer game sessions.
People will pay a surprising amount to not use a powerbank
No I agree with you.
But if I’m paying $800-1000 for an Xbox Ally, another few hundred for big gains + OLED when playing stuff like Hollow Knight or NMS are nothing to scoff at
The Xbox Ally or Claw AZ2 or whatever the hell they named it are better priced and feature the same chip
I will be pretty happy if I can play PS2 games for hours on a nice huge (but still handheld) OLED screen. And use the same handheld to play my Steam library.
Heck, I might even use it as my work computer while I'm at it.
Okay ... one bad thing about detachable controllers. Where the ever-loving hell did I put my Legion Go controllers...
Teach me your secrets for playing hours worth of games in one sitting 😂
Fan noise tolerance also seems quite subjective from person to person so I generally don’t put much stock in anyone’s opinions on fan noise lol
Dat weight factor tho 💪
It probably won’t because ASUS is competent.
Lenovo has done this same stuff for all 3 launches so far
And no one really tries to measure the noise - "it's loud" or "it's quiet" are what we usually get. That is to some extent fair, because it's not easy for someone recording an impressions video to test this stuff objectively.
Even if I were to say, use a db meter. There’s still differences in pitch/frequency that can make the same volume more or less annoying, too.
Heck, I have stuff like that to calibrate my home theater, But using it for handheld fans is just not going to work well.
I’m not lmg or gamersnexus, don’t have a hermetically sealed room to rule out noise variables haha
Even big publications for laptop reviews etc rarely have consistent noise measurements.
are we still surprised that pushing these handhelds results in audible fan noise? Stick to indies otherwise. 😛
I don’t think it’s audible that is the issue, Lenovos have a history of a very whiny sounding fan
comes with the territory so what can ya do? Otherwise steam deck and MSI Claw 8 ai+ are amazing regarding low fan noise
Yeah agreed. My second Go S is also quiet. A little less then the Ally I had
its not noisy as og go
i cant understand the feedback
more delay
26/11

Just got the delay email finally. But mine is still showing oct at the moment
i just canceled it
Also looks like Windows full screen experience can be used on other handhelds
@plush acorn @upper halo @gloomy meteor @jovial shell instructions in post
i am trying to install it on my go 2
If it works. One less reason for me to get xbox ally x 😅
Best of both worlds
This is awesome!!! Yes then def no need for Xbox Ally 😬😬😬
@plush acorn @upper halo @gloomy meteor @jovial shell !!!!
Xbox mode plus oled vrr 🥵
yes
you dont need ally xbox
this is the xbox you have beem waiting for
running games well no hiccup
This works also for portable versions of games?
why not
You can add launchers. Can’t see why it wouldnt have a feature to add games. If not add it in steam as a non steam game and it should still show if steam is linked
its just windows
I just add portable games into steam. Way easier
its bit weird experience
Nice, I'll figure it out with my LeGo 1
since you cant minimize window tab
I just hate installing games in the natural windows way
I play sonic fan games. So same boat
I usually just run big picture and then add the game + artwork myself. In theory as long as steam is linked. It should show library and pull that over to xbox mode
I will try this on my OG go when I can be bothered till Go 2 finally arrives.
I'll try it as well
We are the same boat too
egpu should work fine
