What SD card should I buy?
The card you purchase should meet the following criteria:
- Reputable brand, such as Sandisk or Kingston
- MicroSD — Your Flipper will only accept a microSD
- 16-32GB SDHC or SDXC is plenty, however, it's tested fine up to 256GB. SDUC CARDS ARE UNSUPPORTED
- Flipper files are small, and most people never use more than 4GB of space when downloading everything possible.
Notes:
- Avoid buying Toshiba cards, as they are known to have issues.
- Newer Samsung cards that are 128gb or larger no longer support SPI.
If you already have one that you know is in good condition/still in the packaging, this should work, or you can quickly grab one from Amazon https://a.co/d/iOvZa3E.
How do I format the SD card for Flipper?
The best way, arguably, is to let Flipper do it for you. We have a handy guide here: https://docs.flipper.net/basics/sd-card.
You can buy official, branded, and pre-formatted cards from any reputable brand.
If that's not good enough and you want SD cards that specifically advertise their Flipper Zero compatibility, here: https://rabbit-labs.com/product/rabbit-labs-brand-microsd-cards/
