#Flipper Zero Compatible Device

We are starting a project where we aim to create a Flipper Zero compatible device with a different form factor and additional/different sensors. Since we are not affiliated with the company Flipper Devices Inc. we tried to contact them in order to ask if they see any legal problems with such a device. Sadly they won't answer. Our device won't share the name or use any of their IP. It will just be able to run a subset of existing Flipper apps. As far as I understand, the software and most of the hardware designs are open source (gpl 3.0) so if we use any code we will adopt the same license. Anybody see a problem with this approach?

If you have any concerns about legal issues around software licenses and making legally distinct hardware that uses the same software, this would be a question best posed to an attorney.

Bear in mind that this Discord server is managed by Flipper Devices, and is their official kind of community area. So, if Flipper Devices isn't directly responding to you, I wouldn't expect any official statement to appear here either.

I'd add on to that that while it is flipper device's discord and equivalent to a forum, why would they respond to a legal question through such a non-legal channel??

Shoot them an email through the proper channels ?!

I don't expect them to respond here, I am just asking the community "what do you think about the legal implications for this project?". It is nothing official, I am just asking for feedback.
As stated, I have already tried to contact Flipper Devices Inc. but they did not respond. Will try again through the proper channels (as I did for the first time).

As I said, this is a question for an attorney. If you truly are concerned of any infringement based on your situation and what you are wanting to do, and want to make sure whatever you are doing is completely above board, then asking the community is not in your best interests.
