My idea is inspired by the nix eyedropper tool, the new apple pencil patents for eyedropper, im not sure what sensors are used in the devices but in time id be willing to source a nix and tear it down and find out. maybe en possibly reuse the sensor on a proto board, its an ambitious project but having it where you can transfer the color code to give a drawing program on pc could make color matching much much easier if i do go thru with this ill also try and design a housing for the sensor so you can have the flipper on a desk with the senor plugged into gpio, using enough wire to give you freedom to pick up a difficult color.

could use this or a light spectrum sensor
Sensors come in a wide variety, and each type has strengths and weaknesses. This section provides a detailed look at color sensors.
Right it would be so much fun to lol
If this works you can maybe make a display calibrator app so you can calibrate colors on your monitor.
That’s true
I would love that because some of my monitors are terribly calibrated
Oooooh, I wonder if I could try to make something like this after I finish my first project! This sounds pretty neat.
