I'm not sure that I can buy a Flipper, so I want to build it myself. Can you please recommend me a cheap motherboard that can be programmed on python.
Thank you!

Ayo @old dune

#

i am going to buy it

strange glen
#

i have one , but i programmed it to be a bad usb

#

it is smaller than you think xd , it is basically the same size of the flipper's motherboard

I'm looking to make a dummy phone with a slot for the Pico for people that take random phones home

Why not just get a pi 4 compute and go all the way, ya know?

@strange glen ?

#

And i have a question

#

Can i use Raspberry Pi Pico to play simple games on it?

#

Like with Flipper Zero?

Flipper have bad usb too

honest marlin
#

But flipper has some Factory restrictions

strange glen
#

Theres a rubber ducky too

#

That is like a usb drive with a microprocessor that is a bad usb

honest marlin
#

Interesting

strange glen
#

Its the best shop of hacking

#

And it has a lot of bad usb payloads for free and sells rubber duckys

#

No

#
#

Its this

#

It has the omg cable too that is a badusb in format of a cable i think

honest marlin
#

Can you attach a screen to raspberry pi pico?

honest marlin
#

Ayo @strange glen i now know how to hack any doorphone

#

But i won`t do it

strange glen
#

What is a doorphone?

#

I searched now i know

strange glen
honest marlin
#

cool

strange glen
#

Yeah

#

FYI if you haven’t figured I put yet making one would be waaaay more expensive and difficult

honest marlin
strange glen
#

theres a lot of payloads , i just choose one when i want

Wich display uses flipper zero? I know that it is written on the Flipper Zero site, But I want to talk to you)

#

Happy new year btw

late elk
#

😂😂

#

Flipper zero display is kinda same as old digital watches display.

#

Btw, if you can really make the pico work like flipper, display won’t be an issue

honest marlin
#

@strange glen, @late elk, Ayyyyyo

strange glen
#

It is smaller than you thinked right?

late elk
honest marlin
#

I didn't knew that it existed

Apparently in my location only wifi ones are available 😅 (last time I checked )

late elk
honest marlin
#

Is there like a separate Wi-Fi module?

late elk
#

Umm I think ESP8266 works with pico, not sure though, but it would be cheaper and better to just buy a Pi Pico W, mostly because pico is a microcontroller and it would be hard to program/interface with another chip. If it is integrated you can be sure that APIs are already available.

#

Thanks

#

If I want to connect a battery to my pico, I need to use the VBUS(40) and GND(38) pins. But, if I want to connect a screen, I need to use the same pins... what should I do?

#

And if I connect a rechargeble battery to my pico, and then plug it in the computer, will the battery charge?

honest marlin
#

...

#

I think, I annoyed you...

midnight abyss
#

1: are you using any kind of board in between the battery and the pico? 2: if not no it will not charge the battery i don’t remember which but if you connect it to one of the power pins (i think VUSB) it will overcharge, damage, and maybe even destroy the battery (destroy like puff up and release toxic smoke) if plugged in

honest marlin
#

Oh

#

So I need to connect a special charging board first

midnight abyss
#

Yes

honest marlin
#

And can I use some Arduino parts? Or ONLY raspberry pi parts

#

I mean sensors, screens etc.

brave ermine
#

You can use whatever you want

#

There's no vendor lock

#

Btw esp32 is more powerful then pi pico w and cheaper at the same time

honest marlin
brave ermine
#

Go with it, no problem

honest marlin
#

Is esp32 better for this project?

brave ermine
#

You can start with any chip. Designing a flipper zero-like device requires a lot of experience. You can get it playing with rpi or esp32 or stm32

honest marlin
#

My first project will be a desk lamp, that shows air temperature, humidity, time and some other information

#

and then i will make a flipper zero-like device

#

And wich programm do you use for designing electrical circuits?

honest marlin
#

I am sorry if I ask too many questions. I am a beginner

brave ermine
#

Kicad for example

#

Start with a prototype board, you don't pcb at the beginning

honest marlin
brave ermine
#

In my opinion it's easier to solder legs, then draw working pcb without prototyping

honest marlin
#

I found a very nice pico emulator. I'll make my prototypes there

honest marlin
#

@brave ermine If i plug my pico in the phone charger, and plug it in 220V, will it work, or it just burns the pico?

brave ermine
#

It will work

honest marlin
#

Thank you)

honest marlin
#

I finally got some components for my pico

And I solderd the legs

#

Pretty basic, but I will improve the code

#

I think, I'll get the Wi-Fi one too

#

Is there any way to connect the pico to my computer, so I can output the CPU, GPU information (temperature, for example)?

Or maybe I can use my computer to let pico(not pico W) access the internet?

brave ermine
honest marlin
#

Thanks!

#

And what about the internet?

brave ermine
#

Why not

#

The same story. Use serial interface to interact with computer

honest marlin
#

@brave ermine are there any guides how to do so? I can`t find them

brave ermine
honest marlin
#

Thank you very much!

#

@honest marlin Whats your task at the moment using the Pico? Are you using MicroPython?

honest marlin
#

Yes, i want to make a home station, that displays time, temperature, himudity and other factors such as my computer CPU temperature etc.

old dune
honest marlin

Oh my god! I will be very grateful! : )
