#WiFi Dev Board Alternative

No way you made that
That looks sick af
I would never be able to solder that good
Nice job
Wait isn’t that just call me koko’s board? I have think seen that before
(Koko is WillStunForFood#8607 i think)
Ohhhhh
All I did was design the PCB and order them from JLCPCB. I had them do the PCB assembly. There is not way I'm going to solder 0402 components like that. I also didn't feel like using a stencil
Oh ok but it still looks amazing
This is actually the first time I've posted about this. A buddy and I have been working on another dev board but I designed this one really quick so it would use the same connections so I could start working on the firmware
But the final product will be much better. It will still have GPIO breakout and a JTAG interface for debugging
Better than the WiFi dev board?
It depends what you need it for. It will still have JTAG and GPIO breakout. It will also have a micro SD slot built in.
Our goal is to make it ready for Marauder out of the box but still allow it to function as a debug interface.
Will it loose any features compared to the dev board?
No USB-C. Didn't think it was necessary since the ESP32 can be programmed through the flipper UART/USB bridge.
It will also be using a standard ESP32 instead of an ESP32-S2 to it can retain bluetooth capability
Nice
Will it have all the capabilities of the marauder now except for the touch screen?
Yes. It will be able to do everything with Marauder the official dev board already does.
Nice 😊
How much will this cost cuz I’m 100% getting it
Still need to work out the numbers
Does your shop ship to Sweden?
Yes
I’d like to put my name in for one of these!
My version 😜
That's a pretty convenient solution. Do you plan to add an SD card slot to it?
@tender urchin WEN SELLLLLL
Absolutely 👍 that my next step 🔥
lol still working on the final version but hopefully soon. Shooting for either late dec or early jan
ESP32 Marauder firmware version 0.9.19
https://github.com/justcallmekoko/ESP32Marauder/releases/tag/v0.9.19
Can it still be used to debug?
The Marauder firmware is not made for debugging
can someone tell me some tips to make a wifi dev board by my self for the flipper?
Buy an ESP32 WROOM development board from amazon, flash it with the _old_hardware.bin file from the Marauder releases page, connect the dev board to the flipper zero with jumper wires in the following configuration...
TX->RX
RX->TX
3V3->3V3
GND->GND
Use the WiFi Marauder companion app to control the dev board.
Oops wrong thread
And skeleton man's flasher even includes the wroom firmware to flash it
do you know the same for the cables to connect the pin to the gpio of the flipper? (like thos ones, but like female to male)
The don't really have a name. Just "Male to Female jumper wires". You can find them on Amazon.
thanks for everything man, keep it up!
@sleek imp
DuPont wires (@tender urchin)
P.S. Thank you for changing your discord name to match. Now I need to stop calling you "Will" 😂
I just like to keep everyone on their toes
Looks like a good solder challenge, just recieved my IPC cert, those 0402s are up my alley.
Once you get that, try rerouting the antenna on a raspi zero w with their little jumper resistor.
I'll solder stuff for you. I love to solder.
Will this require a different firmware? And can this use spacehuhn’s deauther?
It requires flashing software to the board; spacehuhn's using an 8266 instead. This can deauth as well
Ok so no different firmware on the flipper, and it can deauth its just not using spacehuhn’s is that correct?
ESP32 on perfboard
And this works the same as the WiFi Dev board?
Yup
I just try to flash a esp32 wroom 32u (with external antenna) following skeletonman's flasher, after I ran Python3 and I choose number 4 (flash esp32 wroom) it keep saying error. Am I choose wrong file? Thank you..
You need to be in bootloader mode.
Which board?
Posterity. Here is the WiFi Dev Board Pro nearing its final form
Bro you can’t just stop making fire can you
Haha thanks. This is all part of my plan to eventually make it look like you're mounting a chocolate bar to your flipper zero.
lmaoo thats Sweet
or dark chocolate
Here is another alternative solution I have worked on. Something for the folks who already have an esp32 wemos d1 mini
Oh yea those are cool I have bunch’s of wemos d1s
Are you planning on bringing any of these to market? Sorry if I missed that somewhere buried in the thread
Yes. I plan to have a page on tindie that will offer an array of adapter options. It will likely be a single product page that will have the following options.
- SD Adapter for the official WiFi Dev Board
- Flipper adapter for NodeMCU-32S
- Flipper adapter for ESP32 Wemos D1 Mini
There will also likely be a separate product page for the WiFi Dev Board Pro shown here...

Incredible. So glad there's people like you out there who know the hardware so well
Highly interested in the WiFi Dev Board Pro. Very slick
Thank you. I wouldn't say I know the hardware well though. I think I just have a good community around me who are willing to contribute their knowledge/experience.
Shoulders of giants then.
any new news on the wifi dev board pro?
@tender urchin That new board looks awesome. Do you plan to sell it anytime soon?
