Would it be possible to take a gameboy color and turn it into a flipper while keeping the gameboy intact. Like having a button to switch between the flipper and the gameboy.

Would take too much redesigning, additionally the flipper was never meant to be used like that

You may have better luck with a custom cartridge that allows the flipper to sit against the back of the gbc, then it would be a matter of just sending flipper screen to gbc and taking in the inputs
Don't ask me how that would be done though, it's just a more feasible idea than putting an entire flipper into a gbc shell while keeping it intact
